Product Overview

Turn a major snowfall into a minor inconvenience with one of our toughest, most rugged snow blowers the Power Max 1128 HD OXE two-stage snow blower. A breakthrough in snow blowing technology, the Power Max Anti-Clogging System (ACS) reroutes excess snow to prevent clogging and maximizes impeller speed and velocity. The Quick Stick control allows you to quickly and easily change chute direction and deflection with one simple, integrated control. The pivoting scraper allows you to clean down to the driveway. It comes equipped with Power Steering allowing you to turn on a dime and has effortless maneuverability with the easy pull of the handle mounted triggers. The 16 in. diameter tires dig through deep snow and heavy duty cast iron skids give you increased wear life. The 342 cc Briggs & Stratton engine is tough and durable for years of dependable use. It is equipped with electric start and with convenient features like a fuel shut-off valve and extended oil drain. The commercial-grade Auger Gear case transfers power to the extra-large 14 in. diameter serrated augers designed to withstand extreme stress, eliminating the need for troublesome shear pins. The interlock system allows one-handed operation freeing the other hand to change speeds or the chute control without stopping. It has a 3-year limited warranty, if anything goes wrong in the first three years, under normal use and maintenance, Toro will fix it free. The chute, deflector, and ACS are guaranteed for life.

Customer Reviews

Power Max HD 1128 OXE 28 in. Two-Stage Electric Start Gas Snow Blower is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A beast of a machine! With a snowy Winter so far I am extremely happy with my purchase. Toro's reputation and American made quality was an important factor in my consideration of snow blowers. The construction and over all build of this machine is solid and I have always been a fan of Briggs and Statton engines. My grandfather would buy nothing else! It is imperative to keep and store fresh fuel in your blower. I used a cheap gas stabilizer and it did not work. Star Tron (gas treatment for storage) is highly recommended by my mechanic and Toro dealers for a reason. It WORKS! Period! Stay away from Stabil. It contains alcohol which gas today already has 10% of and is the reason why the gas goes "stale". During the summer months start your machine every month for about 5-10 minutes. My only other issue is that there is a fair amount of vibration transmitted to the handles which can aggravate carpel tunnel problems. Maybe manufacturers will be able to come up with a solution to this for snow blowers in years to come. But the engine is very strong and the snow throwing distance is very impressive!. You will take for granted the anti-clogging feature on this machine but that is because it works like it was designed to. The chute control works with very little effort. Oh yeah no heated hand grips. But so what wear warm gloves! Little pricey but you get what you pay for is my motto! Great purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good so far Used it twice on about 8-10 inches of snow. Throws the snow very far. Started right up each time. Quality seems very good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the absolute best snowthrower you can buy. PERIOD. This is my third snowthrower, and I always admired the Toros, so when my second one only lasted one season before the cheap steering device stopped working, I stepped up to this Top-Of-The-Line Toro. WOW. What a difference. I firmly believe this is the absolute BEST snowthrower you can buy, not just the best Toro. The steering triggers work effortlessly, turn on a dime, and lock immediately upon releasing them. Buffalo just had probably the coldest winter on record, and we were hit continually with several inches of snow every couple of days. This machine throws wet, heavy snow, or deep powder further than any other machine I ever saw, and it is QUIET. The housing is built better and heavier than either of the other two brands I have owned, so you will experience zero "bucking" or "kickback" when you hit some crusted, hard packed, icy base snow hidden beneath the fresh topcoat of snow. Believe me when I say, this unit will handle ANY snowfall you get buried with, and you never have to rev the engine on high. Plenty of speed in first three gears, I rarely even use 4th. It simply tracks straight and true through the deepest snowfall. I noticed it can throw snow all the way up my fence, which is a good 20 feet from my sidewalk, and no machine has ever even come close before. It clears my 150' of sidewalks on my corner lot, and even a buried fire hydrant, with ease. When I looked at them, I had my then-8 year old daughter with me-she was able to turn it in the store by herself! That's how balanced they are. Just an incredibly well-thought out and built machine. Do not let the plastic parts of the intake and chute be of any concern-the chute can't rust, and the system of recirculating the excess snow back to the auger rather than clogging is pure genius, employing an elliptical shape to the intake, rather than circular, prevents all clogging. Comes with a clean-out tool in the event of a clog...I only used mine once in 2 seasons, because it was mid-thirties with wet, heavy, deep snow on my apron due to plows. As soon as I saw the Labor Day promotion of free shipping on this brand new model, I ordered it. I received it crated within a few days, and it was a breeze to put together. I couldn't wait for the first snow fall. I look forward to heavy snowfalls, knowing I have a BEAST. THE BEST! Do not hesitate. You will not find a better snowthrower anywhere, at any price. I find myself doing both neighbors' sidewalks on either side of me, and even my neighbors' driveway, because it is such a treat to use. I LOVE THIS SNOWTHROWER!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent After One Full Season I bought this machine to replace another one, of a different brand, that I had for the past 20 years. I have waited until now to write a review to have a complete season of use. Now that I am fully up to speed with all the new features of new machines and have used in all conditions (wet heavy snow, normal to light and fluffy) I give this blower and excellent rating in all conditions. It handles wet heavy snow better than any I have used in the past, with minimal clogging of the discharge chute, and the chute never clogs in any of the other snow conditions.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lots of plastic parts Control cables do not look that durable, they seem thin and I expect to be replacing them soon, Lots of plastic on machine, it is guaranteed for life so I expect it should last, overall its not that different than any of the more cheaper snow blowers out their, I regret buying it , for the premium price for the Toro I should of gotten something more professional , and no plastic. Ask me again how I like the machine after the first 20" blizzard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great snowblower!! Have only used it a couple of times. Last time was a 2' snowstorm last week. Was amazed that it blew the snow almost twice as far as my Troy Bilt!! Am trying to get used to the controls being the reverse of the Troy Bilt. Have only used it twice so can't vouch for longevity or dependability. Thats's why the less than excellent dependability rating. So far my only complaint: Wish it had heated hand grips as my Troy Bilt does. The Toro seems to be built substantially beefier than the Troy Bilt. Of course the Toro was quite a bit costlier!!
