Power Steering is only activated when you pull the triggers on the handle. If they are not ‘triggered’ then they are not activated.

The Power Steering on this model is not activated unless you use one of the two triggers to activate it which are located directly underneath the left and right handles, so you will have no problem with a driveway that is not smooth or level. You may be getting confused with another product that has auto steering which has no trigger system to activate and relies on the operator to push the machine left or right to activate the steering. I recommend you get a snow blower with trigger controls if your driveway is not smooth, because the auto steering other models offer may jump around on you on uneven surfaces thinking you are pushing it in that direction Read Less

Chute direction versus engaged auger

This question is from Power Max HD 928 28 in. OHXE Two-Stage Gas Snow Blower
Asked by
Washington, D.C.

August 27, 2016
One review states that power to the auger has to be removed before the chute can have its direction changed. Another comment says one of the big plusses is the ability to move the chute while you're still plowing. I'm having a hard time seeing how both can be true. Can some please say whether or not the blower can still be plowing while the chute is being maneuvered? Thanks!

Answer:
Yes, you are able to move the chute while still plowing. There is a one handed interlock feature that allows one-handed operation, freeing the other hand to shift speed or adjust chute without stopping the snowthrower.

Power Max HD 928 28 in. OHXE Two-Stage Gas Snow Blower is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 51.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Broken control cable New snowblower, unboxed today. One of the control cables had been bent in two and broken, so the snowblower is inoperable for the time being. Contacted Home Depot online - the rep was helpful but advised that Home Depot *cannot* guarantee that a replacement part will be sent and to contact Toro instead. Contacted Toro, and the recorded message said to contact a local authorized repair shop. Now I have to somehow get my new snowblower to a repair shop somewhere in the region. Big hassle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dominated Winter Storm Jonas I've been wanting a snowblower for a while and finally decided to pull the trigger this fall. I was initially looking at a smaller Toro two-stage but decided to upgrade. Setup was easy and it started up within the first few pulls. We've had a mild winter and it sat up until this weekend. I tried it early on in the storm after we got our first foot of snow. The machine was awesome. The heated handles were great. With temps in the mid teens and 40 mph winds my hands were nice and warm. The power on this thing is awesome too. When I went out towards the end of the storm we had about 30" on the ground. There were a few areas that I didn't get on my first go around that this thing powered right through. I thought this machine may have been more than what I really needed but after this storm I was so glad I upgraded.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Toro Max HD 28 inch Snow Blower 10-11-2016 It seems like a pretty sturdy machine, it's still fall of the year here in St. Louis and I haven't had a chance to use it yet. It was very disappointing upon arrival missing parts, it seemed as if somebody robbed the clutch lever and some bolts off this machine before it was sent to me. I'm still waiting for one pin and cotter pin to install the clutch lever that they finally sent me! Best Regards, Kevin

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great purchase! The product required only a few wrenches and was easy to assemble. It was easy to maneuver through 20 plush inches of wet, slushy and heavy April snow. It cut through the slushy snow and threw it 20 plus feet without clogging the spout.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not perfect - yet This machine is awesome. Throws snow, even heavy snow, very far with seemingly very little effort. Our first snowfall was a breeze. There are three minor issues that you should be aware of: (1) I have two little steps to climb to complete my snow removal project and this machine absolutely does not climb even a 4" walkway step (without ramps); (2) The slowest speed is faster than my previous snow blower's low gear and might be too fast for the job when the heavier deeper snowfall occurs. I'm actually hoping to find an adjustment so first gear is a little slower; (3) Once engaged, you can release your left hand and operate both the impeller and drive gears fine using your right hand only, but I don't believe you can ever switch to releasing the right hand for left hand only operation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful shopping experiance ! Although I probably waited a bit longer on delivery than I would have if I had gone to a box store it was worth the wait. My snowblower was delivered directly to my garage door and the dealer gave me a thorough run down on the machines operation upon delivery. I am eagerly awaiting snow so I can give her a test run. The machine starts on the first pull every time even after sitting for more than a week. My driveway is over 100 feet long and this will be the first snowblower I have owned in my 55 years of Wisconsin winters. I live in a rural setting and leave for work at 4:30 in the morning. No longer will I have to wake up at 2 AM to start shoveling. I am a happy man ! Being able to purchase my machine without a salesman breathing down my neck and still receiving full service including set up and delivery at a competitive price was a dream come true.
