Answer:
Everything needed to switch from bagger to mulching side discharge comes in the box.
Switching between both mowing modes is extremely simple.
I have yet to have a hiccup with this product & it starts on the 1st pull about 95% of the time.
Never had to pull more than twice. The Kohler engine is great.. Variable speed drive works great.
For the money it's going to be hard to beat the TORO.

Answer:
Yes, there's a side discharge chute available for the mower. I have one and it works great when the grass is too tall/thick to mulch. It attaches very easily underneath the side discharge cover.

Answer:
To start the mower, hold the blade control bar against the handle. Pull the recoil start handle lightly until you feel resistance, then pull it sharply. Allow the rope to return to the handle slowly. Answer:
The engine has an automatic choke, no primer. Simply pull on the starter rope and it will start. Can't say it will start on the first pull on every cold start, but ours typically starts in 1- 3 pulls. Warm starts require just 1 pull. It's important to keep fresh fuel in it for easy starting

Yes it will start on the first or second pull. I've had this mower for two years and it has started on the first or second pull every time. Also it doesn't have a primer bulb, because it isn't needed.

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 2540 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Impressive Pretty straight forward, easy assembly. It comes with the oil included. The option of side discard is great! It started on the first try. Our yard had gotten quite long when the old mower crapped out. We live in Florida, so the grass grows very quick, as well as retains the moisture from everyday rain. We set it up at the medium blade height. We were quite impressed at how easily it got through the weeds and grass, even in the areas that were still damp. We have a good size back yard and it took less that 20 minutes to mow it. We were very impressed at the speed and ease of this mower. Highly recommend. July 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worthwhile purchase Purchased this product to replace its predecessor (same make and model) that's served me admirably for 14 years. The newer version as expected offers a few improvements. I was impressed with the ease of assembly of the new unit along with the fact that although manufactured last year and shipped from Mexico it started on the first single pull of the recoil starter cord. A minor detraction is I've noticed the self propel drive bar is slightly different than the former making it just a little harder to operate at least for me. The engine on this later version is different which actually is of little consequence as it runs equally as well. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WONDERFUL!!! I bought two of these (one for myself and in-law)at the same time. Attaching handle was quick and easy (just a couple screws). Both mowers fired right up ready to go on each use. Motor sound good. Very nice to stand behind, and let the front wheels do all the work. I was confused if we should get a rear-wheel or front-wheel. I decided front-wheel made the most sense. Just a slight tip of the mower onto the back wheels makes turns super easy to get to the next row. Very happy about the purchase, good price and easy to use. Last mower we bought only lasted two years so getting a different motor was the main goal. August 17, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by should have bought a honda I have had this lawn mower for less then a year, last season it ran great. Now it bogs down when cutting, clogs up through the side or rear exit, and stalls out on thick grass. I do the neccessary maintainance but it still can make it through a small lawn before dying. Again im going for a new blade and belt to see if it fixes the problem. Its very disappointing to spend over 300 dollars for a one year lawn mower. May 22, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Decent mower This is the easiest starting mower you could ask for, but it tends to loose power under load when mowing. Grass height of 6-7 inches is a struggle when using as a mulching mower and it leaves a mounded trail of grass in the yard that you'll have to rake up . Also, the grass catcher bag is small, which makes for more frequent stops to empty bag. If you have a small yard and mow often, this is a great mower (my yard is approx. 50' x 75'). But if you let the grass get a little high, better plan on taking some extra time to cut your lawn and rake up the clippings. If I had it to do over again, I'd probably buy a different mower with more power. August 3, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't buy this mower Two years ago I would have highly recommended buying a Toro mower since that's what I have been using for years. The last one I gave to my son and bough a new one but never again. They did something different and they don't stand behind it. They paid for one under warranty service call , which didn't help and stopped responding. Bad mower and bad customer service! The mower starts great cold until it gets hot then black smoke and rough idle. Sometimes need to wait until it cools down before it will start again. I have heard the same from others August 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Can't go wrong with a Toro from Home Depot I bought an exact Toro about five years ago from Home Depot. Later I also purchased a 42" cut Toro Zero-turn. Both have provided me with excellent performance and dependability! Maintenance is easy. I loaned my 22 in Toro recycler to a friend, who filled it up with oil ... was too much...he never checked the dipstick. The engine locked up after he made a few cuts. I purchased another one recently from Home Depot. I'll be sure not to loan this one to my friend. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I love this mower. This is the second Toro Recycler with a Kohler engine that I have purchased. I liked the first one so much, that when the mower at our second home died, I purchased anotherToro Recycler. It does a great job of mulching the grass. Also, the oil fill port was redesigned from the first one I purchased, and is much easier to use. The clippings bag is also very easy to use, and I use it in the winter to pick up the mulched leaves while I mow. Great product! August 10, 2016
