I am updating a prior review of this lawnmower. It appears that someone at the corporate level at Toro thought they could save a few pennies per unit by removing the oil fill tube. The engine (Kohler XT675) is fabricated to have one. I have the engine manual, parts diagram and pictures to prove it. As a consequence, changing the oil on this mower results in a mess. The geometry is such, that unless you completely turn the mower upside down, and keep it level, the oil will spill onto the mower deck, and the ground below.
Something to keep in mind.

This was worst mower I ever owned. It cut great when it worked, but I had to take it apart and clean the carburetor every time I wanted to use it. If I ever cut it off it would not restart. Warranty did not cover anything. Took it back only to find I was stuck with it. No adjustments of any kind. Will never buy another toro.

I bought the same mower and exchanged it the first day. I thought it must just be a lemon. By the time I used this mower( had heart attack) it was too late to get a refund. Mower dies, even on level driveway. It has a warranty, but in the spring that means at least a month of downtime. "Easy Start" is not easy. Takes a few pulls at least. Engine power varies. In a perfect world HD would credit me for this mower when I get a replacement. I will buy different brand, possibly from HD. This will be cheaper than going to the doctor for a bad back caused from trying to start and restart this piece of junk!

Registered 6-2014 for warranty. Used until mid-Oct. Drained all gas out, let it run a few seconds to clear any remaining gas for winter storage in garage. Took out 3-9-15,new gas, added ethanol treatment as last season. No matter what, would not crank. Took to authorized Toro repair shop. Was told the carb. needed cleaning. After 4 months of use the previous season? What good is the GUARANTEED TO START WARRANTY if it will not start? Was told I should use ethanol free gas. It does not say that in the WARRANTY! Tried to find this miracle gas, I did, 12 miles away. Used it for approx 4 mo. and now will spend $66.00 for repair. Bought 2 of these mowers last year. $ 66.00 for my son's and can't wait for mine not to start, Maybe mine won't start because of global warming, making it too hot to crank. No more Toro.

The mower started just fine for a couple of months and then started getting "cranky" (pun intended) as it would not start. I was told by a repair dealer that there was water in the gas (ethanol attracts water and no place to buy unethanol gas). One thing noticeable was the fuel cap was getting harder to put on..........the hole was no longer "round". The service dealer said "freezing" must have warped the mower.............it had not froze outside yet. Is it the Kohler motor??
I replaced the fuel tank and now it has a round fuel hole................how long? No word from Toro on comping me for the fuel tank on a two year warranty with only 9 months into warranty. Home Depot was no help either................they just want to sell.

Bought this mower in August 2013 and used it 4 times. Tried a 5th time but it wouldn't start. Figured it was the end of the season anyway and I'd worry about it later. The grass wasn't that bad. So now it is April and it won't start. Customer service didn't help anything. They have me a phone number of somewhere to take it and the number was disconnected. So much for the "guarantee". I've never seen issues with any other lawn mower even with leaving gas in the tank over the winter. I would have drained it had I been able to start it! Toro had been a good brand from what I know, but clearly they have started going downhill. Definitely will be buying a different brand from now on. I hear Craftsman is reliable.

WARNING! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUC! Buy a Honda if you don't want trouble. Everyone else with low ratings on this product is correct. I bought this lawnmower Spring of 2012. I have a 10 x 15 size law and used the mower approximately 20 times over the past two years and now the mower will not start. I have tried new gas, spark plug, etc. and still will not start. It has a 3 year warranty but I could not find my receipt and they will not service under the warranty unless you have the original receipt. Do not buy, they do not stand behind their product.

This is the worst purchase I think I have ever made. When it starts, it is great. Unfortunatly, I can never get it started - off to the repair man again. First time it wouldn't work, HD sent it out - that was nice - had to pay someone to mow my lawn for the 2 weeks it was out - now I have to annually take it to the repair shop - they said it was the carburetor and I am not the only one whose exact lawnmower they have to fix in the same way. Live and learn. No more Torrso for me!
