Customer Questions & Answers

How often should the Engine oil be used? Is it something should be used after every 4-time I cut the grass?

My Toro Lawn mower model no. is 20339. Your quick response is appreciated.
Asked by: AK
You will want to change the oil after the first 5 hours of use on a brand new machine. Then change it once a year or about every 55-60 hours of use. You will want to consult your direction booklet for more information, but that is pretty much the standard. In the meantime, do check your oil dipstick to make sure it is a good color and considered full before each lawn mowing session. I know for me, I change the oil every April 1st. I just remember I am the fool that has to change it...and it falls on April Fools Day.

This oil meets or exceeds performance requirements of all OEM products (Toro, Briggs & Stratton, KOHLER, Honda, Tecumseh). We will need to know your mowers model number to verify the oil type required.

Do i put all the oil in my toro lawn mower?

I dont know how old the lawn mower is but i know it is a little old.
Asked by: Seminole123
Probably not. i would suggest about half of the bottle. Letting it sit in the oil tank for about 5 minutes. Then check the dipstick for fullness. And then apply a little bit at a time until the oil is within the parameters of being "full," and at the optimum level.

This is what they recommend (obviously their own product). It is affordable and does the job for a summer blend, or all year round from where I live (West Coast). It is the preferred SAE 30 blend for their lawn mowers and small engines. You will use about 3/4 to 4/5 of the bottle in a single use. They have larger bottles, but I chose this so that I can use it once a year as part of general maintenance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ... Toro Oil has been great. In The Heat of Summer it does the job. The Toro Lawn Mower I also bought from Home Depot is the best I have ever had, It starts on the first pull every time, I also love the fold up stand up storage for extra room , couldn't be happier, Thanks Home Depot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oil I got this as Toro is said to use a synthetic mix of at least AN standard. I will use it on the first and second changes and then go with a different, less expensive, synthetic blend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Use the best, you won't regret it. Better performance than the standard 10W 30 you'd buy at Pep Boys.
