Answer:
If your mower has the standard handle configuration as 95% of walk behind mowers do, then it absolutely should! The parts provide a lot of adjustability and configurations for any type of mower. The only thing I will caution is the roller is 22" wide, so if your deck is less then that there will be over lap on your lines.

The lawn striper attachment is designed to work with most 20 in. - 22 in. walk-behind, self-propelled, and push-type lawn mowers. Do not use with any other type of mower. The Toro Lawn Striping System has been tested and approved for Toro equipment and should not impact the performance of your self-propelled system.

I used sand...not sure if water will work as good. I used paver sand but it wasn't as dry as I would have liked. I didn't see 'dry' sand at my Home Depot. I used a small funnel but still took me 20-30 min b/c the sand kept sticking as I was trying to funnel it in.

I've filled it with water when I first got it because the sand I had was too wet and clumpy. Water worked fine but I don't think the drum is as heavy as sand would make it. Once my sand dries out I will fill it with sand. And you need play sand aka sand box sand. The fill hole is a bit small and need the finer sand. Do not use paver sand. Too many large rocks that won't fit the fill hole.

The kit is designed for 21" or 22" push mowers. While the kit is adjustable for width, looking at my set I don't think it will go down to 18". If you could mount it the roller itself would be much wider.

To a small degree but don't recommend. St. Augustine is hardy and semi-broad leaf. And the leafs don't grow very long. They are difficult to bend and stay bent with the roller. I do not recommend this for St. Augustine.

The kit will work on any grass type, including St. Augustine. However, keep in mind by just the nature of the blade and the way St Augustine grows you will not see such a noticeable strip when compared with other grass types.

Answer:
Healthy, well maintained cool season grasses such as, but not limited to, Rye grass, Fescue, and Bluegrass pattern more easily. Warm season grasses such as Bermuda, St. Augustine and Zoysia do not pattern as well due to their coarseness. Please remember, visual results may vary based upon health of grass, length of grass, type of grass, available sunlight and seasonal conditions.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Yard in WI The Toro Lawn Striper just made my yard go from good to GREAT! For how inexpensive this is, the value you'll get for years is well worth it. Your yard will be the talk of the neighborhood. October 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by works like it should It works like it should. It makes the lawn look professionally done. It even works when the weather is 90° outside and the grass is crunchy. I was surprised with the results for how dry it's been in my area. September 1, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Ehh? Rather my homeade one. First off, biggest pain filling that tube with sand. Its a 1/2" hole. If u get very soft sand like from beach im sure it will work better with a funnel. I used playbox sand. Took roughly 50 minutes to fill it. Terrible. After finally getting it all together and using it, i just saw better results with my 3" pvc one that I made for $3. So $3 compared to $93...yeah Im going to stick with mine. Returned July 29, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great product I've wanted this for a long time. Before getting it I was worried that it would not work on my TORO recycler Smart Stow because of the fold down latches. My wife bought this for me for one of my birthday presents and installation was a breeze. It cleared the blue fold down latches with plenty of room. I have a thick bladed fescue that came with the house that I really hate. I plan on getting rid of it and putting down Kentucky Bluegrass. Even with my thick bladed fescue it still takes a nice stripe. It's important to mow tall. 4" for many reasons but it makes the grass blade lay down better. All in all I HIGHLY recommend this product! October 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WOW WOW! It does what it says it will do! I went from a great yard in the neighborhood to the best. You need decent grass to begin with, it is not a miracle cure, but icing on the cake for great curb appeal. It was worth the price and would buy it again. The only flaw as the nut fell off that holds the hook that you attach the roller to. I replaced with a lock nut and that seemed to do the trick. I am a happy homeowner and very proud of my yard! Have fun and start striping! June 1, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Toro Lawn Striper After doing a great deal of research on this product, I went ahead and purchased it. Installation was a bit tricky on my Toro Super Recycler. The striper fit fine, but the buttoned bracket adjustments were getting stuck when I was trying to push them to the next opening. That continues to be a problem to this day as if I hit a big root, it has loosened it from the teeth and I need to go back and adjust it. I'd imagine this would not be a problem if I could get it to the fourth opening on each bracket. Performance wise, it does work and is quite cool to see in action. I think it would work far better on a fuller, darker lawn. I've gone ahead and overseeded my lawn with the hope it will make the striping much more noticeable. Unfortunately after a day or so the stripes do wear off, but I believe if you did the same pattern a few times in a row it would last longer. Overall I would recommend this product. It is not perfect, but it gets the job done. June 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love It This is great for putting stripes in the lawn, but if you don't have a toro you will need to get a longer screw to attach to your lawnmower. October 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good roller, easy to set up and use, gets results Like any roller this will only produce the desired lawn effect on a healthy lawn. If you have a lot of crab grass or weeds it won't work too well, but if you have a healthy lawn it really works, maybe not as well as the pros can do, but it's pretty great in my opinion.
