It did agreat job cutting down on the dust which I liked. But there was no pick up. I had to check to see if the blades were even turning. I could see that it barely was cutting anything. I drove over sticks just to see if it would make any noise hitting them, but nothing. I took it off and went back over what I just tried to mow and it did fine. The steel parts are well made but it just didn't cut anything.

I bought the mulch kit as I like to use the grass clippings to feed the lawn. It is a couple steel parts that help fully enclose the blades. The blades it came with appear to be identical as the ones on it already. I left my old blades on as they look identical and are new. It mulches great with some issues. First I cut my
Lawn on the slow smart speed setting. At the high setting bumps are to much for my back. Even on the slow setting in dense parts of the yard you will hear a pitch change. When you hear this the vacuum of the blades has all the air above the blades full of grass clippings. You have two choices at this point. Slow down and wait for the pitch to return to normal or drive on and have clumpy mulch. The grass will still get cut but you can see mulch clumps. When I cut my lawn slowing down at the pitch change in one dense area you can see no grass clippings at all. My neighbor who bagged his grass was so impressed he went and bought a mulching kit for his cub cadet. It was just a plug and blades. He has bad clumps and is disappointed. Also the time cutters slow speed is still far faster than his. He is set on buying one like mine someday. My other neighbor who cuts his grass before me gets lots of clumps from his snapper. I raise my deck all the way up so I don't cut a stripe in his yard and mulch his clump piles up. He loves my mower too! So why not 5 stars? If you use the insanely fast mow and go speed you will have clumps. The steel parts are heavy and not packaged well enough to prevent the paint from scratching. So if you hate rust you will be painting them before installing. Over all I love my mower and the mulching kit. Plus I have an extra set of blades.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Buddyboy Mulching Kit for a Toro SS5000 Zero-Turn Mower
I have used my mower about 3 times since I installed this mulching kit. It does a good job at chewing grass and leaves up, but not as good as my old Scott's lawn tractor did with it's mulching deck. It is acceptable, but when you mulch leaves, mulch them before they get too deep. I have found that the mower does a good job if you do that. And the mulching kit keeps the dust down, and allows close trimming on the right side. Anyways, I love cutting grass and mulching using my Toro SS5000 mower; it's a great machine, and fun to drive. One hint when you install the kit - use a short piece of rope looped thru the end of the pully tensioner spring to release it from the deck by pulling on it, and then dropping the deck is a very simple process, as this allows you to remove the belt from the bottom of the motor quite easily. Installation was not difficult; took me about an hour by myself, at a leisurely pace. Overall, the mulching kit works well, although it is a bit pricey.

The Toro 50" zero turn mower this kit was installed on had to be driven very slow to get a halfway decent cut. With the recycler in place, I have to drive even slower.
In my opinion, the kit is overpriced by $50. The plastic diiverter inside the deck is plastic and will be gone the first time one hits a hidden obstacle. This will render the recycler non functional. In my opinion, it is poorly designed.

The Toro 50 inch recycler kit was easy to remove/install and the kit went on pretty easy...Just be careful when removing the blades and handling the deck as it is bulky and heavy. Once installed, I mowed my 1 acre country yard (grass and dirt) and was amazed at the reduction in the amount of dust created by the mower. This was what I was hoping for and it far exceeded my expectations. I'd estimate that the dust kick-up was reduced by 90 percent. It did a great job of mulching the grass as well. I highly recommend this recycler, especially for anyone that has an excessive dust problem like I did.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by papadarius recycle kit for 50" timecutter mower
I have only used the mower a few times with the recycle kit in place but so far so good. It is nice to be able to get close to the flower beds without getting clippings in the beds. I would say the mower does miss some grass now but the trade off is worth it. No more rows of clippings or grass in the beds and with the discharge shoot gone the mower will get in tighter spots. Well worth the price. I would have rated it 5 stars but it does miss some grass that it did not miss before the kit was installed.

It's not that easy to install, not hard, just combersome. Makes not sense why they don't make a cover for the discharge hole. I took the discharge cover off because it sticks out and is in the way with no purpose.
It's a new mower, but does cut as well as I thought it would. Leaves several uncut stems that I have to go over a second time.
