Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wild, Crazy, and Fast! This is not the machine for the faint of heart. It will take some getting use to. It is a squirrelly machine. Once you learn how to control the beast, it is definitely fast. Start in trim mode, then try tow, and finally mow. One thing I do which helps is push mow the edges. We first did a couple rounds. This past week I only needed one round. I was actually following my son pushing the mower and he was going faster than I on the Toro. Yes, in the mow mode you can actually go slow and be in control. When you want to go fast and slice thru grass half a foot high this machine can do it with the Kawasaki engine. We have three acres and I am very close to doing it in one hour. September 5, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Product This has been a great mower. My problem is that no one is available to work on it. I have an issue and the closest service center said he is 3 weeks behind. I need my mower now. The catalog will not recognize the part number I need therefore I can not order it even if it is not what the problem is. Oh well, as they say, now I am lawnmower poor. Why make things so disposable when I think I paid a lot of money for a good mower? October 15, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I love Toro. Good mowing at a reasonable price. I had a smaller Toro zero turn for several years and never had even one problem with it. I only got this new 50 inch one because of the size. I have 3 acres of lots of trees, flower beds and slopes. Also I am a 70 year old woman and this machine is easy to operate, easy to get on and off. Since my yard is big and rough in places I especially love the pedal operated lift that allows me to raise the deck and go over roots and such . I sold the smaller mower to my brother and it is still going. September 25, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good overall this machine ss5000 zero turn has worked great for my 1 and a half acre. I have owned it for almost two years now and the mower deck just fell off because of the rod-trunion bolt snapped in two. I see other reviews about same dont know if there is recall or not. but the mower does a nice job cutting my lawn when its in one piece. October 9, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by things i found odd There are some things I found odd about the 2015 model. 1 is that it doesn't have a built in timer. my friends older model has one and doesn't settle with me right that I have to buy one and custom install it to my 2015 model. 2 is the holes of the base where your feet rest are punched upward rather than downward. I would assume if it case of rain and if that's the case if should be punched downward not to case any water accumulates on there. 3 and last was the rubber mat that should have at least been with the mower but did not. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent mower We also have a 48" which this mower runs circles around it. My wife says it feels like she is on a ride. She truly loves it. We have 2 acres we mow. This mower has reduced the mowing time by about 45 minutes. It is a GREAT mower. October 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by saves so much time My 1st zero turn. Using on 2acre lot with hills. Cut about 6 times so far. Get it done in about 1/2 the time plus reduces my weed wacking. The speed settings have been great to reduce skids, division and increase control in tight areas and hills. Gives a beautiful cut. Was going to get mulch kit but this cuts so fine there is no need for one. Things I think could use improve are: 1)gas usage, uses about twice my garden tractor did. 2) when taking deck off, rear part of deck has no protection when sliding out...scratch paint, use cardboard. 3) slides pretty easy on inclines. With that said, I still love it. August 4, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by As good as advertised I bought my TimeCutter SS5000 with the plan it would cut my mowing time but also handle the varied terrain I have. I was not disappointed...this mower has performed flawlessly so far! For my application, it has met every requirement and delivered on all fronts...power, ease of use, speed, toughness, maneuverability and fuel efficiency. I have about 3 acres I mow regularly which includes, flats, hill, berms, rocky, trees, small wash and flower beds/landscaping. The grasses include bermuda, natural flatland pasture grasses, weeds (Johnson Grass) and other nuisance grasses. This machine has surprised me with it's maneuverability...it handles working around flower beds and landscaping much easier than I expected, the Trim setting helps with this significantly. Overall...for me, this machine has met or exceeded my expectations! Definitely recommend. September 18, 2015
