This is a great lawnmower. Overtime it will pay itself off with the 7 additional inches of deck you get. I just wish the bag and the fuel tank were bigger.
It's very easy to use and easy to maintain. My yard is .57 acres and in my opinion not big enough for a 42 inch riding lawnmower, but too big for a regular 22 inch mower. I wish the price was a little less, but this really is the Cadillac of lawnmowers and one of the few lawnmowers in this size.

I love my TORO Timemaster 30 inch mower. I have used a Timemaster at my work for many years. TORO products are typically excellent products. This mower has been on the market for a few years now but TORO keeps making improvements on it . They have beefed up different parts by switching from plastic to metal. They have added extra material in the corner of the bagger where it would typically wear out. For this year they have also added a metal plate to the front of the engine to protect the carb and throttle assembly. The engine is still underpowered for cutting thru really tall or wet grass. But for the average homeowner the larger deck will make short work of your weekend mowing projects.

Hard to give up the Honda motor but moved to a house with a much larger lawn and with two little kids wanted to cut down on the mow time. Not too many options out there for large cut, walk behind mowers that are well built and are moderately priced. Pretty good investment from what I can tell so far. One full season into this mower and really the only issue I've seen is in the grass catcher which has holes starting to from from the tabs toward the back/bottom of the shoot (pictures attached). Nice stripes (3rd picture attached and without the Toro accessory). Replaced the oil after the first couple of uses with synthetic and and will continue on each year with. I usually leave the cut height towards the 2nd to highest level setting and when the grass grows thick and tall in the spring the motor does seem to be slightly underpowered as others have mentioned. However, it really hasn't been an issue since I just slow the pace down a bit and adjust. I'll say the old Honda still starts up on the first pull every time even after 10 years. The Toro, usually on the first pull but sometimes it takes two :) I'd probably give it 4.5 stars if I could.

Easy set up out the box. I think this mower is an awesome selection for medium to large Residential and Small Commercial property. I've used it to cut small 500 Sq ft lot to up to an acre. It hustles as fast as you're willing to hustle. Stripes nicely too. If grass is wet best to open discharge because it will jam up. Satisfied overall!

Simply put this mower is underpowered. I purchased it after moving to a home with just under 1/2, any damp grass and forget it, gets clogged quickly.I like to keep my grass longer in summer, another no no for this mower, it can't keep up. Why buy a 30 inch mower and only be able to mow 15 inches at a time? Personal pace? I feel like I'm at the gym pushing through any grass higher than a couple of inches. Wish I could return it for a more powerful mower.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by David Love this mower!
I have a 1/2 acre wooded lot. With the woods and house, there is probably 1/4 acre of turf. My old 22 inch mower would take about 1h 15 mins to mow. It was a 15 year old Toro Recycler with fixed speed. I then bought a used 44 inch riding mower. The riding mower could mow it in 45 minutes, but my yard was really broken up too much to get maximum efficiency from it. I also felt kind of lazy out there using a riding mower. I suspected a 30-36 inch walk behind that was capable of a higher ground speed would be the ticket. I considered a 36 inch walk behind, but decided a commercial mower would be overkill. Settled on the timemaster and can now cut the yard in 36 minutes. I had to adjust the personal pace a little to get it working right, but once I did that, it works great. I recommend this mower to anyone spending more than 45 minutes mowing with a 20-22 inch mower who would like to cut their mowing time down. I achieved more than the advertised 40% reduction in time spent mowing, probably because this timemaster lets me have a higher groundspeed than my previous mower which was fixed speed.

This would be the perfect large lawnmower if the handle was put together a little bit differently. Over all, however, I really like it. The fact that the handle can be latched up for storage is nice, because it takes up less room in the shed. I love how the sliding control makes the self propel go faster when you push it forward, and turns it off when you pull back for backing up. What seems awkward is where the controls are placed on the handle. You are encouraged to place your hands together in the middle of the bar rather than on each side. It doesnt feel natural to me to walk with my hands together. I loove being able to walk fast, however. I can actually get a work out, which I want. The lawn looks beautiful when its done. It doesnt mash the grass, the mulcher works great, I get done quickly. This was my choice instead of a riding mower because I didnt want to store a riding mower, and also buying a bag for a rider was expensive. For a compact bigger more powerful mower, this is great. If the handle was redesigned I would give it 5 stars. I got it on sale, so it was also alot cheaper than a rider.
