This mower was a bad purchase. This mower started with a recall on the deck pulleys. Toro did not have the parts available, so I'm without a mower for over 30 days. Once it was repaired, this mower bogs down in dry and wet conditions even with a high mower height and the discharge chute attached. This mower does propel well and is good on hills. However, I need it to mow grass which it does not. A $1200 mistake. My Husqvarna 19" outperforms this slug.

This is the way to go when cutting grass. Easy to store when not in use. The key start makes it breeze to work with. Love this toy!!!

I've had this mower now for several weeks and can report that it works well if you keep up with your mowing. I love the 30" cut and electric start. However if you get behind in your mowing, it will choke down in tall or wet grass. The deck holds grass and will need regular cleaning. It could also use a larger fuel tank and swivel wheels on the front end to help with maneuverability.

I have this mower made in 2012. I had been a Toro fan for a long time until lately. I bought a Z model zero turn mower also and had issues. But back to this 30in. I like the features; electric start, blade stop and leave engine running, 2 lever height adjust though 1 lever would be ideal, ease of changing bag/mulch/side discharge. Now the bad. Will not start when hot. Even sitting in the sun on a hot day will keep it from starting. To me this is more a Briggs engine problem than Toro but it is a Toro unit after all. Change engine makers Toro! Bogs down in grass over @ 10 in tall. Trans will not drive the mower anymore.. When I lift the rear of the mower the wheels turn. But not enough torgue/power to move the mower. Even on a flat concrete surface it barely drives the mower. And yes I tried all the adjustments. Without the engine running though it can be a bear to push. Weird. If you drop the front of the mower even moderately the front axle mounts break. Cheap. There are other small niggly issues but the main ones are the starting and trans ones. Essentially makes it unuseable. I have contacted Toro and basically there response is too bad for you because it's out of warranty. There are forums that talk about the hot start and trans issues. You would think Toro would have addressed them but apparently not because as you can read folks still have issues on new units. It seems Toro does no't make a quality mower anymore. Too bad. I will look elsewhere. Are you paying attention Home Depot?

Home Depot delivery was easy, delivery brought the mower into my garage for unpacking. Just add oil and gas and fire it up - could not have been easier. When you engage the blades, sounds like the engine strains a bit, but gets up to speed quickly. This machine literally cut my mow time in half - love it!

Having purchased this mower last season I'm very disappointed with the lack of power as it can't mulch unless you set to the highest setting and cut twice gradually lowering the deck. otherwise it clumps up and you constantly have to stop and clean the mess it makes. I tried to return it but they have a 30 day period for returns. Then it started to leak gas from the cap, took it back, they replaced the cap. Got it back started to leak again, so they replaced the tank and cap, so far so good? The warranty is very good, but you have to have two gorillas to lift the overweight thing to transport. I'm glad that I kept my old faithful Toro 22in. or I would have to hire some goats as it's a week turnaround time at the dealer for service.

Easy to assemble. This thing is a beast and the continuous motor running with blades stopped is an awesome feature. One complaint I have is the performance on steep hills when using the striping system. You've been warned here though, this thing can move. It literally walks you sometimes. The only other negative I would say is the gas tank size or fuel efficiency (not sure which it is just yet). I used to be able to get two full cuts of my 5k sq ft yard on my Troybilt 21" tuff cut. I ran out of gas the second time I used my Timemaster about halfway through the second cut which doesn't make sense since I'm reducing my overall cut time. I still love this machine though and am very happy with my purchase overall.
