Customer Questions & Answers

what is the mph power

depends on your blower/vac...this is just the attachment

I ask again, what is the hose diameter.

Hose diameters are always measured ID (Inside Diameter). I doubt this is 5.5 inches as no manufacturer anywhere makes a flex hose of that diameter. It's either 4 or 5 inches and most are 4 inches.

I just measure the OD and it was 3.5inches

mine has no collar at the flex hose end that connects to the bag cover?

the hose just pops out of the bag cover. is there a collar that keeps it attached to the hole in the bag cover? i could not find one?

Just use a long zip tie. I had the same issue and this solution work great.

Will it work with Model#51605

just want to make sure it will work.
Asked by: Tex41
I have a 51591 and it works with the universal fitting. The foam insert is snug and would probably work on many models. The actual clip without the univ. fitting would have worked if it wasn't curved on the end.

Universal Leaf Collector is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 72.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from The whole thing is a ineffective frustrating piece of garbage You have to be two people to use it because you either have to bring the leaves and dirt to it (it's supposed to blow it or vacuum it) or have someone delicately move the basket as you get to new areas. and it keeps coming off, spreading around a large cloud of dirt and dust that forces you to do the whole work again. Dirt gets in the eyes ,etc. i have to wash myself top to bottom each time. It is the one and only home task that I do not look forward to. it just moves the dust and dirt in the air so that more work needs to be done to remove it and wash your clothes afterwards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect bag for emptying Toro lawn mower grass clippings The sturdy and rugged construction of the 'spring bucket' allow easy deposit of grass clipping from my Toro self propelled collection bag. I've trashed three other cheaper fabric bags in the last 4 years; bottoms wear out dragging the bag to the car to take to the recycling center. The spring ends puncture the fabric at the bag bottom. Had to use duct tape to keep the bag together, not with Toro. Cost of this bag is more but you get more than your moneys worth, I love 'em!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This product has terrible construction I spent good money for this "Spring Bucket" and the stitching for the handles failed. I have inexpensive yard buckets that preform much better than this product. I purchased this because of the TORO Reputation and find that this product needs improvement.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The leaf collector needs a bit of upgrading. A full 33 gal. can collector was included on a similar purchase about 10 years ago. When the leaf vacuum died, I pitched the entire unit. Wished I had saved the attachment. The current Toro attachment should be included in the package. The attachment had to be purchased and upgraded by me. The hose attached to the canvas constantly came loose. This was corrected by using strong tie bars to the canvas where the hose was attached. Also, the pull string holding the canvax to the can is very inadequate. I needed to use a strong bunji cord pulled tight around the can to hold the canvas to the barrel. Have used the vacuum minimal so far, leaf season will tell the tale.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Listen to the bad The reviews on both HomeDepot and Amazon were pretty much 50/50 so I decided to give it a shot. I bought it with the Toro Utility Bin so I'd have a collection system for cleaning up all the leaves. My experience lies firmly with all of the people who said it wasn't worth it. As the vacuum pressure builds within the bin during collection, eventually either the cover pops off the bin or the hose pops out of the cover. Either way is a leaf dusty mess. I tried securing the hose to the cover using a small bungee cord, which made it pop off less, but it still happened. I returned this the day I started using it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Dissapointed I tried to use the Leaf collector and found that it would not stay on the trash can. It kept coming off which was very annoying. I'll try again and see if I can get it to stay on the trash can by securing it tighter. I hope that works. The hose is not long enough so there is stress on the cover which makes it become unattached.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works. The leaf vac collection system works the way it is supposed to work on a Toro leaf vac/blower (didn't try the adapter for other leaf vacs). Collecting leaves in a trash can is easier than collecting leaves in a small bag, at least when there are a lot of leaves. Stepping on the tube might eventually damage the tube, at least it did on an earlier version which lasted about a dozen years. By the way, the Toro mulches leaves as well with the leaf vac collection system as it does with the small bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What a time saver! What a time saver! I was able to vac and mulch 25 bags of leaves into 6 garbage cans. The original bag attachment requires constant stopping to empty and is daunting on you back. This can attachment eliminates that. The only issue i had was a loose stitch on the strap and i pulled the hose free from the bags elastic grip twice. Solved stitch with a knot and loose elastic grip with a zip tie. The mulched leaves are a great size and should be used in beads, gardens,etc..
