Smart Wrench System 3-Piece-- is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok, but save your $5 for something else. Its a neat idea, each tool has 2 end on each end there is 2 sides/sizes. So that is 12 different sizes. They get 24 because they exploit the fact that many metric and non-metric sizes overlap (almost). I have been exploiting this fact by simply buying only metric tools for years. Works fine on larger bolts not so much on smaller ones. You basically get a 6 point box wrench in 6,8,9,10,11,13,14,16,17,19,21,22 MM. Obviously some of those are slightly large to allow for the the non metric equivalent. For example the 7/8" is about 22.22mm. 1/4" is about 6.35mm so if you try to use the 1/4"&6mm side on a 6mm wrench you are going to have some noticeable play. won't matter on a good bolt, but if you have a rusty or stuck 6mm nut/bolt you will most likely round the corners and wish you just grabbed a 6mm wrench from your tool box. the inside edges of the wrench are slightly curve to help grip the bolt on the meaty parts of the nut not the wimpy points. Most wrenches are made using this or a similar trick. The mill work is ok where it matters. They coated the wrenches in black to save on the finishing, nothing wrong with that. The black coating is ok, but will rub off with use. The sizes are stamped on in gold paint, but the lettering was designed by some kid who is great with a computer stylus but never got his hands dirty. I mean the 6 and 9 are the exact same just upside down and Choose a font that has a distinct 9. Ok I am nit picking, pity I wasn't on their testing team I could of pointed out dozens of ways to make this product useful I wanted to keep these as in my SUV as an set of wrenches Sadly the way these are designed they just won't cut it. They might be good around the house to put together that BBQ grill or tighten a garage door bolt. But really they are just junk, a sad waste of metal and factory.. I give them 3 stars because its a great idea, just done poorly. Wait for the second generation, a few small improvements will make a tool worth owning. I am only out $5, can't complain, I will likely give these to some lady who doesn't have a wrench set as anything is better then nothing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good idea, wrong implementation The only reason I give 3 stars is for the idea. The spanner that goes over the nut/bolt is divided in 2 sections, with different sizes on both sides. This means there is barely "tha"t much space to hold on top of the bolt, and if the bolt is rounded at the ends as they typically are, it slips. Only if they made the section more deeper to hold the bolt, it would have been perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for the price paid These are a great deal at the five dollars (and free shipping) that I paid. I have not used them as of yet, I would have concerns that they may be likely to strip a nut, as each appears to grab only the top half of the nut/bolt.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Appears to be sturdy product. Concerned that sizes printed on tool may wear off with use. only used once - functioned well and appears to be sturdy. Concerned that sizes printed on tool may wear off with use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not very functional Good idea but too shallow to grab nut, returned even though they were only $5

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome This tool is great. It really works. Since I am a non-mechanic, this has saved me a lot of money. Better than buying a whole tool set.
Date published: 2011-09-22
Rated 3 out of 5 by from They work. The box end wrenches work as described, but not easily. Each box end has a multi-size fit. None of the ends fits any of the nuts or bolts tightly and will not allow high torque tightening. Great for adjusting multiple tool fittings as long as extreme torque is not required. LIMITED USE ONLY!
