Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this toilet, great purchase! I had been having consistent problems with the old toilet that was in the house I bought 2 years ago. I finally decided to replace it, did some research and came across this one. It had great reviews on various websites, so I decided to buy it. It arrived on time and in great condition. I have never replaced a toilet before, and had my mom (who also had never done it before) help me install it. Only one slight issue--it seems like the tank doesn't sit on the bowl very securely. We had issues getting it aligned properly during the installation. Make sure you have a level on hand for the job too! I couldn't find mine, so we used a book and a glass of water in lieu of the missing level. It worked well enough, and we got it installed correctly on the first shot (no leaks!). Overall, this was a fantastic purchase, and I will be buying a second one now for the basement bathroom! You can't beat the quality, value, and performance at this price! It has such a quick and powerful flush, but not loud--just whoosh! and it's gone. All of it. I've seen toilets cost twice this price and only flush half the job. I love it, and highly recommend to others. Don't forget to buy a lid too, it doesn't come with one. May 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by perfect Happy to have a REALLY good toilet after years of a much older model that came with the house. Wish i had replaced it years ago. fast - efficient - complete and EZ to install! I checked many sites and customer reviews before selecting this product. As far as i can tell, you can't get a better product value. Greg Lowell February 25, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Flushes solid waste much better than most This toilet replaced a more stylish toilet that did not flush sold waste at all well. I did the replacement successfully in less than a day, and I am at best an average DIYer. The Toto Drake flushes solid waste on the first try much better than any other toilet I've had. That's the good news. The bad news is that the fill valve started leaking and needed replacement in less than a year. But the new fill valve cost less than $10 and needed less than an hour to install, so overall I'm still happy with the product. June 8, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by The trapway is not Glazed like the Specifications State. Do not buy this toilet due to this severe defect. I would not recommend this toilet, the reason is that the manufacturer is lying about the fact that they have a glazed trapway. The fact is that it is not a glazed trapway at all. The trapway is completely unglazed. This means more chance of plugging due to higher friction of waste when flowing through the trapway. I find it unbelievable that this toilet could be so highly rated in spite of this massive defect. I would recommend this toilet instead as it is half the price and it rarely clogs (I have owned one for the past 3 years): American Standard Cadet 3 FloWise 2-piece 1.28 GPF Round Front Toilet in White. They have the same size flapper, the same diameter trapway and it is glazed instead of unglazed. Also, there are standard parts inside the tank that make maintenance easier. I don't recommend the Kohler Cimmaron either as it is more expensive and the internal parts in the tank can only be purchased from the manufacturer. The only positive about this toilet is that it does have a strong flush. Have not owned long enough to see how often it plugs though. May 25, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed The flush from the upper lip is straight down. No swirl action to help completely clean. Repeated flushing still leaves residue. Always have to use a brush. June 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Toilet! We were looking for a toilet for our half bath. Due to limited space we had to find a toilet with the right dimensions to replace a toilet that was over 40 years old. The Toto Drake 2-Piece fit perfectly. I like how this toilet flushes with such force and suction. It reminds me of many commercial toilets that you would find at airports or hotels. The fact that we are using a fraction of the water compared to our old toilet is amazing. I would highly recommend purchasing this toilet and I am going to purchase another one for our other bathroom because I like it so much. May 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I Love This Toilet! I was replacing a water-guzzling, 37-yr.-old toilet and wanted something that used a small amount of water. I've had the Drake in for about 3 months now, and I love it. I make all my guests go flush it, even if they don't have to use it! It handles solid waste like buttah, and I love the vacuum flush. The bowl never seems to get dirty. My boyfriend and brother-in-law installed it with no problem. I used a regular wax ring. The tank lid is domed a little bit, but who cares? I'm not one to put a lot of junk in my bathroom anyway. I liked it so well that I bought a second one to put in my other bathroom. I would recommend it (and I do) to everyone. January 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Why buy anything else? I needed to replace a 50-year-old no-name toilet that could barely flush wet toilet paper and was prone to clogging. While researching, I came across Terry Love's site about the Toto Drake, and had the opportunity to use one. You have to see this toilet in action to be impressed. Fast flush, _everything_ goes in one flush, and it doesn't use the full tank capacity. I would estimate the toilet uses 1 gallon max. You can use the full tank by holding down the handle, but that would be a bowful of ick. Quick note, you don't have to buy Toto's replacement innards...Korky makes all of Toto's tank innards, and can be found at Home Depot. At $200, it's comparable (price-wise) to any other brand toilet. Perfmance-wise, it's light-years ahead. December 10, 2013
