Customer Questions & Answers

This toilet is listed as "comfort height" but consumer reports has it listed as standards height. What is comfort height and how tall is the seat?

Asked by: JAriA
"Comfort height" is a new designation that is ADA compliant but shouldn't be because the one inch difference between this and "extended height" of the past makes a HUGE difference when you're handicapped, which I am. This is barely 16 inches from floor to top of the bowl, which is a 1/2 inch shorter than the advertised height they say is "comfort height." The "extended height" of my Drake ToTo toilet bought 9 years ago was 17 inches, and the front to back size of the "elongated" is much shorter now, but I'm not sure by how much. In any case, I will be replacing this toilet because it is pared down overall compared to ANY toilet I've owned in the past.

This toilet looks like the photo but falls way short of past Toto toilets we have owned because it is smaller than any others, overall. Supposedly it is elongated and extended height, but it is neither compared to past Toto toilets labeled as such. The whole toilet is pared down, I suppose to meet the "such a deal" expectations of a Home Depot buy.Used to be the flush system of the Toto was less likely than any other to clog, but such is not the case anymore. The shape of the bowl prevents good suction with a plunger. Buy an auger, for $2 more than a plunger, because you are going to need it. I've had this toilet for 6 months and will replace it with a Koehler that really is elongated and extended height.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great water saving toilet We've had the Toto Drake 1.28 gallon toilet for just over a week and are very happy with it. Even though it uses very little water per flush it is a good design and is very efficient. We haven't had to flush more than once yet. It is much better than our other toilet, a Kohler 1.6 gallon. We are thinking of replacing that one with another Toto Drake 1.28 gallon, in fact, because it's so much better.

I actually love the product and finally have it installed now, but I was not able to purchase it from The Home Depot. I ordered it three times and three times it came broken. I ordered from another large chain store and it came the first time unbroken. I would not order this product from The Home Depot because they cannot deliver it to the local store unbroken.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much better flush pattern than most 1.28 GPM models You cannot buy 1.6 GPM toilets in Texas so I researched the best 1.28 GPM models and ordered two Toto "Drake" Eco units and found them easy to install. The dual flush action gives you a 2-directional flush when the lever is held down that cleans the entire bowl much better than my existing Sterling models that the builder provide!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Toto drake The toilet works well. I was a bit hesitant because of the 1.28 gallons per flush small volume. It works just fine. It is a minimalist toilet which is a nice addition to our bathroom.

Good quality for the price; Easy install; mechanism works well and flush is very quiet. We installed it in master bathroom just 2 weeks ago as part of a master bedroom/bath remodel. We are not professionals, but have remodelled every home and rental property we have owned (9 total) since 1982 with special considerations for wheelchair accessibility since 1997.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ok but go with the Drake 2 The Drake 2 has the sanigloss finish and only two holes to help get the waste down. This toilet doesn't have the sanigloss and the bowl has traditional style water flow. This toilet streaks easily as well but the height is spot on and it's a beautiful toilet. FYI, It doesn't come with a lid
