Answer:
Hi Anton, Yes, the Drake II 1G in Cotton White will have the special glaze inside the bowl that helps to prevent particles from adhering. The term SanaGloss has been replaced with CeFiONtect by TOTO, so if you see CeFiONtect instead of Sanagloss you can be assured that it is the same feature. Hope that helps!

This item (CST454CUFG#01) is titled "1.28 GPF", but the specifications listed, and Toto's website, says it's 1.0 GPF. Which is it?

I don't know for sure, but it seems like it has to 1.0. Tot's site has it as 1.0 and they have the CST454CEFG as the 1.28 model.

Answer:
Mine is model CST454CUFG#01, and this is 1.28 gallons per flush. I have verified that with the city water meter after installation as being quite accurate. The Toto website, at least when I look at it, calls this a 1.28 gpf toilet. The Home Depot listing is inconsistent and sometimes shows it as 1.0 gpf, which is wrong.

There are two different models. One is 1 GPF and is primarily intended for the California market. The other is 1.28 GPF. We bought the 1 GPF model from HomeDepot even though we live in Arizona. We were a little concerned that it might not flush completely every time. But we are very happy with its performance.

My model CST454CUFG#01 is higher than standard. The porcelain rim is 16.5 inches above the floor, and the seat adds one to 1-1/2 inches more depending on manufacturer. My old toilet rim top was 14" from the floor.

It is 16.5 inches from floor to seat mounting surface. It is about an inch too tall for us since we are short legged folks. But we are very happy with this model anyway.

The bowl rim is 16+ inches from floor. With seat and lid added, it is 18" from floor. The toilet is considered comfort height. Standard height is around 14 1/2" from rim to floor without seat measurement added.

Drake II 2-piece 1.0 GPF Single Flush Elongated Toilet in Cotton is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but not perfect I bought this "comfort height" toilet for water economy and, since I'm getting older, so it's easier to get up and down. The height is about 2-1/2" taller than the old standard one we had, and I like that. However, shorter members of the family find it somewhat uncomfortably tall (I'm 5'9", others 5'2") with feet barely touching the floor when sitting on it. I bought a (quite expensive) Toto soft-close seat to go with this toilet but have replaced it with another brand (Bemis) because the Toto seat shape presses uncomfortably into the back of short folks' legs. The flush action of this toilet is startlingly fast, and so far has worked perfectly. Since it uses less water, it also fills fast, but the fill valve does not slowly turn off as with old float-valves. Rather it flips off suddenly, so there is noticeable water hammer when the tank fill ends. The literature that came with the toilet implies that one of several different valve models might be installed, so maybe some are better than this. But I have installed a little anti-water-hammer chamber between the wall shut-off valve and the toilet. (It looks a bit like a small CO2 cartridge and has a diaphragm and air chamber inside to absorb the slam of water. Available at plumbing supplies and good hardware stores.) The extra smooth porcelain finish on the bowl interior seems to do what is claimed, that is minimize the need for cleaning. It has been in use for over a month and shows no sign of any dirt. Home Depot says this toilet uses 1.0 gallons per flush, but the Toto company site says 1.28 gpf, and according to my city water meter it actually uses 1.27 to 1.4 gallons (0.17 to 0.19 cubic feet) with a normal flush. If you hold the flush handle down until the tank drains completely (as you might if there is a lot of solid waste), it uses 2.7 gallons (0.37 cubic feet). This toilet is not cheap, but it does what it claims to do. Not five stars because of the cost, the water hammer, and the discomfort with the Toto seat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the small extra cost Between the tornado type water flow and the glazed bowl material, we have not had to use a toilet brush after a flush since installing. Slightly higher seat than our previous commode. I really like the height (5"11 male) and my wife (5"5 female) is indifferent about the height, so net it is a positive. 1gpf is exceptional considering 2 flushes per day per person, we save 2.4 gallons (4*.6) per day. That is a savings of just short of a thousand a year!!! Only minus is that on a 12 inch rough in, the back of the tank touched the wall behind. Very tight fit, but it fit nonetheless. I highly recommend this commode!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Amazing Toilet! I never thought I'd be writing a review about a toilet. But, here I am and I am thrilled with the Drake II. Again, I never thought I'd be 'thrilled' about a toilet, and yet I am. Why I am raving: 1. Compared to the cheap toilets, well, who I am kidding, there's no comparison. This thing blows them out of the water. 2. We've used it for several months now and not once has there been even an inkling of a potential clog crisis (and I use generous amounts of toilet paper). In fact, I've tried to clog it up by putting stupid amounts of toilet paper in. Nope, the Drake II just sucked it all down. 3. In the months that we've been using this toilet, I have cleaned it only because I feel a toilet should be cleaned periodically, not because there was anything visible on the bowl at all. Not even a ring had formed in over a month of use! (I ascribe this to the powerful double cyclone rinsing that occurs with each flush). 4. It flushes fast and strong, yet doesn't sound like a jet engine taking off in your bathroom. 5. It refills very quickly. 6. I've never experienced a low-flow (1.6 gallon or less) toilet work this well. The only con is that it is ADA compliant which means for short folks, it might be a bit tall. I cannot recommend this toilet enough. Sincerely, A Happy Potty Patron

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the money Since moving into our home last summer we constantly had problems with the guest bathroom toilet getting clogged. It was a Mansfield toilet and after fighting with it for a while i decided to try the Toto Drake II and it does not disappoint. I am amazed at how good it works and it is worry free. We also noticed that we do not have to clean this toilet like the other three in our house. I am so pleased with the way it works i am going to change all the others as well. It is well worth the money and it was really easy to assemble.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific Toilet! I purchased this Toto to replace an existing Toto that worked fine (moved to a different bathroom - fun times moving three toilets in one day!), but didn't have quite the flushing power that we preferred/needed. The combination gravity flush with the "jet swirl" around a bowl that's contoured in a way to essentially "lift and drop" the bowl's contents is terrific. And it's very economical on water usage too. The flush is louder on the Drake II, but that was expected given the Toto soft-close seat we purchased as well. The flush and tank fill is finished before the seat fully closes! I would recommend this toilet for anyone in the market looking for a quality product that's easy to install, has a powerful flush with minimal water usage, and has an attractive profile to boot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed Was very disappointed. Box looked to be in perfect shape but when I opened it toilet tank was completely cracked. Better off buying specialty products like this from a plumbing supply house that stocks them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most wonderful toilet I've ever owned! Not one single issue so far. I replaced an old inefficient toilet with this high efficiency toilet. Before I installed it, I was concerned it would not flush reliably but it's turned out GREAT! I highly recommend this toilet.
Date published: 2016-09-27
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sits very tall I'm six feet tall and cannot get my feet squarely on the floor when I'm sitting on this. Shorter people may want to go with a shorter toilet.
