Customer Questions & Answers

Does this model have the sanagloss finish?

Asked by: anton
Hi Anton, Yes, the Drake II 1G in Cotton White will have the special glaze inside the bowl that helps to prevent particles from adhering. The term SanaGloss has been replaced with CeFiONtect by TOTO, so if you see CeFiONtect instead of Sanagloss you can be assured that it is the same feature. Hope that helps!

1.28 or 1.0 GPF?

This item (CST454CUFG#01) is titled "1.28 GPF", but the specifications listed, and Toto's website, says it's 1.0 GPF. Which is it?
Asked by: Servant
Correct information per Toto: CST454CEFG#01 = C454CUFG#01 bowl + ST454E01 tank (1.28) CST454CUFG#01 = C454CUFG#01 bowl + ST453U01 tank (1.0) It is unclear why Home Depot ever changed the website to reflect CUFG model and/or 1.0 GPF description as it seems they were never able to supply the 1.0 tank. Fortunately, a recent update has corrected the description so now the only issue is it doesn't match the model number. I just got off the phone with a helpful rep who claimed he was escalating this for attention. Bottom line: Order this item if you're looking for 1.28 GPF model CST454CEFG#01 Do not order this if you're looking for 1.0 GPF model CST454CUFG#01

Toto Website has this model number as a 1gpf, but this clearly describes a 1.28 gpf

CST454CEFG01 is the 1.28 gpf model, has anyone received this item and if so, what size was the tank?
Asked by: KI
Mine is model CST454CUFG#01, and this is 1.28 gallons per flush. I have verified that with the city water meter after installation as being quite accurate. The Toto website, at least when I look at it, calls this a 1.28 gpf toilet. The Home Depot listing is inconsistent and sometimes shows it as 1.0 gpf, which is wrong.

Is this toilet 18" high from floor? In other words higher than standard ones?

If not 18", which model is? Thanks
Asked by: Mills366
Yes, it is higher! This model is great for older customers.

Drake II 2-piece 1.0 GPF Single Flush Elongated Toilet in Cotton is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from 1.0 gpf not available at Home Depot! DrakeII comes with 2 tank options. Home depot sells only the 1.28 gpf tank, not the 1.0 gpf this rating is for. Their web site was incorrect in showing the 1.0 gpf, they sold us a 1.0 gpf tank, but delivered the 1.28 gpf. Had to return it, fight with manager for a refund of just the tank, then buy the 1.0 gpf tank at local plumbing store because Home Depot couldn't special order it... We like the water savings of the 1.0 gpf, it hasn't clogged, and it refills quickly. The only complaint is the bowl doesn't always rinse clean well due to reduced flush volume.

I had previously ordered one of these toilets from Home Depot online and it was sent to my home. Everything was ok. I ordered 2 Toto more toilets and this time Home Depot required them to be sent to the store. We picked them up at the store. When we opened the boxes both toilet bases were broken in several pieces. There was no packing to protect them. We took both toilets back to our local Home Depot where I had to return the broken Toto toilets and the store did not have replacements in the Toto brand. I had to purchase American Standard toilets and they are definitely not as good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed Was very disappointed. Box looked to be in perfect shape but when I opened it toilet tank was completely cracked. Better off buying specialty products like this from a plumbing supply house that stocks them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Toro 1.0 gpf toilet another winner I already had a Toto and love it. But, to get a Denver Water rebate now the toilets that qualify have to be Watersense 1.0 gpf. So, I got another Drake II 1.0 gpf and am not disappointed. Flush is fast and thorough just like the former 1.6 gpf Toto.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great toilet What a great toilet. Quiet, efficient, good looking. If you don't own the longer seat, make sure to add this to your order.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but not perfect I bought this "comfort height" toilet for water economy and, since I'm getting older, so it's easier to get up and down. The height is about 2-1/2" taller than the old standard one we had, and I like that. However, shorter members of the family find it somewhat uncomfortably tall (I'm 5'9", others 5'2") with feet barely touching the floor when sitting on it. I bought a (quite expensive) Toto soft-close seat to go with this toilet but have replaced it with another brand (Bemis) because the Toto seat shape presses uncomfortably into the back of short folks' legs. The flush action of this toilet is startlingly fast, and so far has worked perfectly. Since it uses less water, it also fills fast, but the fill valve does not slowly turn off as with old float-valves. Rather it flips off suddenly, so there is noticeable water hammer when the tank fill ends. The literature that came with the toilet implies that one of several different valve models might be installed, so maybe some are better than this. But I have installed a little anti-water-hammer chamber between the wall shut-off valve and the toilet. (It looks a bit like a small CO2 cartridge and has a diaphragm and air chamber inside to absorb the slam of water. Available at plumbing supplies and good hardware stores.) The extra smooth porcelain finish on the bowl interior seems to do what is claimed, that is minimize the need for cleaning. It has been in use for over a month and shows no sign of any dirt. Home Depot says this toilet uses 1.0 gallons per flush, but the Toto company site says 1.28 gpf, and according to my city water meter it actually uses 1.27 to 1.4 gallons (0.17 to 0.19 cubic feet) with a normal flush. If you hold the flush handle down until the tank drains completely (as you might if there is a lot of solid waste), it uses 2.7 gallons (0.37 cubic feet). This toilet is not cheap, but it does what it claims to do. Not five stars because of the cost, the water hammer, and the discomfort with the Toto seat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product- Made in USA !!!! This is my second Toto Toilet installed this year. This is a great product, Flush is strong and sanigloss finish keeps the bowl very clean. I have one more bathroom that needs the toilet to be replaced, I definitely will be buying another Toto.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the small extra cost Between the tornado type water flow and the glazed bowl material, we have not had to use a toilet brush after a flush since installing. Slightly higher seat than our previous commode. I really like the height (5"11 male) and my wife (5"5 female) is indifferent about the height, so net it is a positive. 1gpf is exceptional considering 2 flushes per day per person, we save 2.4 gallons (4*.6) per day. That is a savings of just short of a thousand a year!!! Only minus is that on a 12 inch rough in, the back of the tank touched the wall behind. Very tight fit, but it fit nonetheless. I highly recommend this commode!
