Answer:
Hello Johnny,
The aged R-Value for the Touch 'n Foam System 15 kit is 5.5 per inch. When applying in layers, please allow each layer to cure before applying subsequent layers. This will maximize density and consistency and ensure you net the full 5.5 R-Value per inch.
Best of luck with your project!

Dear Eeyore,
If the railroad ties are “clean” (not covered in dirt or oil). We would expect no adherence problems. We recommend you perform a test application to determine the suitability of your proposed application.
The Foam Kit 15 referenced in the subject line will not dispense sufficient material to seal a sizable storage building, but will be suitable for a test application.

Remember, that all spray polyurethane foam must be protected from UV/sunlight. Typically, this is accomplished with paint. Thank you!

4. Injecting 2-component spray polyurethane foam into the void between the walls of your van requires a great deal of care to avoid over expansion and consequent distortion of the metal walls.
Please contact Touch 'n Foam Technical Services to discuss further if needed. Thank you!

Answer:
This type of foam is OK for the temperature range, but doesn't have much resistance to water and UV light. Outside covers everything from sealing around a vent under an eve (not much exposure) to the seams on a cupola (completely exposed). If you aren't sure if it would be wetted or in sunshine, use something else.

Dear Brian,
Polyurethane foam can discolor and degrade in sunlight. Touch ‘n Seal foams can be used for outside applications if covered with an exterior grade coating. Please contact Touch 'n Seal Technical Services for additional questions. Thank you!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product This product worked exactly as described. The amount of insulation was the amount expected. June 7, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works fine I used this to fill in some spots of insulation in a work van that were removed to to some body work. The hardest part about using this is guessing at how much to apply to get enough insulation where you want it. I think the term "theoretical yield" is quite accurate, it's a theory. In my experience, it's closer to 10 board feet, which makes this product kind of expensive. But to be fair, this is cheaper than other stuff I've found. And I followed the temperature recommendations. I had halogen lights on heating the area up. It applies very easily, and only took a couple of minutes to apply. I wish it didn't cure so fast. For my application, it would have been nice to be able to shape or mold it somewhat. September 29, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Spray foam helped Much easierthan small cans of spray foam products. But still expensive for size of area completed. I'd buy twice the product for 70% of current price. March 15, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by not great, but few other options The idea of having a cheaper spray foam kit for small jobs is great. This one works fairly well, but the amount of foam in one kit is very small. I bought 2 kits to insulate a bay window bump out but there was barely enough to just do outside edges and corners.. literally I think the kit sprays for 20 seconds. I was able to make an extended nozzle reach by cutting off the valve tip, sliding the valve back on the tubes and mounting to a stick with duct tape. Of course the next kit size up is like $300 so I{ would recommend it just since it may be the only practical option. Also, the quality of the foam expansion was a lot better for the box I sprayed at 70deg vs 60deg. December 28, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't measure up After reading the product overview I believed this system would meet my needs. The attached photo shows an exterior stud bay with the foam in place from the first kit I used. Bay dimensions are 91" x 9.13" x 3.25" or 1.56 cu. ft. volume. There are DWV pipes in the cavity that measure 2.315 dia. and 136" total length or 0.33 cu. ft. in volume. The net stud bay volume was 1.23 cu. ft.. The kit is listed at 1.25 cu. ft. yield and one kit would be required for the project. Site conditions were (all degrees F): indoor ambient of 74, outdoor ambient of 76, wall surface of 71, and product temp of 74. All temps were within the recommended temperature range listed in the instruction guide. Product had been allowed to acclimate to site conditions per instructions. The photo shows approximately 1/2 of the 1.23 cu. ft. space was filled. Unfortunately, some material was lost before second kit arrived when some material liquified and had to be wiped away. This is visible as the tan/brownish foam in the photo. The white foam was as expected. The second kit arrived and the area was warmer. Unfortunately, the dispensed volume didn't increase with higher temperatures. Indoor ambient was 80, outdoor 93, wall surface was 82 and product was 80. The second kit result was consistent with first one. I still had ~ 25% of stud bay volume without foam insulation in it. Does this product meet it's own specifications? You be the judge. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Foam melted after 4 days of spray.. i did some work on my bathroom and opened up an wall facing the outside of my house. I used 7 foam kit to seal the wall with foam. after 4 days there were certain areas that bubbled up and turned into liquid. It looked like the stuff was melting into a slimy form. I thought it was only for a small area but I noticed it it in random spots all over the wall. January 20, 2015
