Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by TheOldSarge Solid and sturdy rack
The rack is relatively easy to assemble and fits my 2007 Toyota Tundra Double Cab very well. However, the plastic tie down blocks and the bolts associated with them were difficult to put together without cross-threading them. It was like the threaded holes in the plastic were a tiny bit too small for the bolts. Also, the screws that hold the aluminum end caps kept cross-threading. This was because the holes in the cross bars and the threaded holes in the caps did not line up just right. Two of the four caps took more than 30 minutes to get right and only then when I drilled out the holes in the bars by about 1/16 inch. The end result is an excellent, solid and strong rack. The threading problem is the only reason I did not gave this system 5 stars.

Amazing deal if you shop around for this quality you will easily pay double. I'm using it for construction projects, kayaks and a Tuff Stuff roof top camping Tent. Believe me you won't be disappointed took about 2 hrs to install and only cause my tools were not in order.

A gift for my daughter and SO. She said it was easy to mount on her 2002 Chevy full size pickup and so far has carried her 13 ft kayaks with ease. She reports the racks are not only good quality but really look nice on the pickup also. So far a satisfied customer barring the painfully long shipping time from HD

The rack did take me several hours to install. Looking back on it, the install seemed easy, but because of other comments on the install time, I timed it and it did take me over three hours. Now that I've had the rack a few weeks, I forget the rack is there, no noise or anything of the sort. I bought it primarily to haul a kayak, but I did use it to haul sixteen foot deck boards. It's not super heavy duty so I limited the number and did a few trips. My purpose for the rack wasn't construction even though I do small projects from time to time. I bought it to haul a kayak and it's perfect for that purpose.

I have had these racks for two years. I live in an area with some rough roads, and leave my rack on from May to Oct. I have had to continually tighten the the bolts that hold the cross bar to the support posts. Two of them actually broke this summer , and I had to spend $50 dollars to have a machinist extract them and replace with a helicoil. I only use them to carry two kayaks, If I were to do it over I would spend the extra money and buy the Thule Sport rack instead. ( yes, I know these Trac Racs are made by Thule)

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by paul79602 Good value and easy install
Took roughly 2 hours to install on a 2016 Dodge 3500 dually including removing my toolbox to make room. Used it the same day to carry a 16' canoe at 75 MPH and absolutely no issues at all. There's zero wind noise or vibration from the setup that I could hear. There are some ridges on the cross bar extrusions that seem designed to prevent buffeting and vibration.
If I had to find something wrong, the only minor issue is the threads on some of the clamps that hold the baseplates to the bed rails weren't cut very well but there were no issues with install regardless.
Would highly recommend it.

Looks sleek and mounts solid to the bed rails. I noticed the same rack in the 2016 Chevy accessories catalog go twice what I paid at HD. Light weight aluminum with tough powder coat finish and flush pre threaded construction - I was impressed with the elegant yet durable design at such a reasonable price-great value!
