Customer Questions & Answers

Can these tiles be stuck over a linoleum floor just for temporary measures

Asked by: Colin
Absolutely. Although I would suggest just biting the bullet and doing the floor however you'd like it done.

Can I apply these tiles directly over existing tiles?

Existing vinyl tiles have a shine to them, but are secure without any cracks, etc...
Asked by: Mel
Yes? Depending on your current tiles, I may use a mild floor stripper to get rid of any sealer/coating that may be on the current tiles. I installed my flooring directly over a years old linoleum, but was originally going to install them directly over older vinyl tiles that are existing. If the under-area of the vanity had been done, I would have.

Do these stick to an existing floor or each other?

will these tiles become a floating floor, or do they fully adhere to your existing floor? I'm also wondering if anyone has had any issues with they tiles not being sticky enough... I don't want to use additional adhesive because we are planning on tiling in a few years- and really don't want to make that a harder project... we currently have really bad vinyl floor that I'd like to just prime and appy over. Thanks!
Asked by: TN
THESE ARE A DEFINATE UPGRADE FOR OLD STICKY TILES. i HAVE NOT HAD TO USE ANY ADHESIVE. MAKE SURE YOUR SURFACE IS CLEAN AND DRY.

I installed this in my master bathroom, and one of the biggest perks is that it is not cold in the morning like traditional tile. I just finished up a refinance on my house and the appraiser had to ask if the tiles were vinyl because he could not tell. I plan to install this in my other smaller bathroom. There are a couple of the tile patterns that I did not care for as much (perhaps too industrial for the look I was trying to achieve), and I avoided putting those in the middle of the bathroom floor. I think that when I do my other smaller bathroom I will buy the tiles one by one rather than by the case. That way I can avoid those patterns.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased This was my first time laying LVT and at first I was not sure about a tile that sticks to the floor. So thanks to the internet I googled it for any tips .Aftering installing 1/4" sub flooring, filling in any cracks, sanding anything rough and using the correct latex floor primer. I went with a 1/8" grout gap also. The tiles went down great. I rented a 100 lb linoleum roller and I think that was the answer to a good seal for the glue on the tile and the primer on the floor.I kept rolling the tiles back and forth and you can hear the air bubbles being pushed out under the tile. The tiles are ON and not coming up too soon. The grouting was very easy to work with. The hardes part was cutting the tiles with a utility knife, make sure you have lots of sharp blades. The floor turned out AWESOME and looks and feels like porcelain tile. From ripping up carpet to the finish grouting it took me 24 hours and for around $300.00 for a 11x11 room. I'm sold on this product. 2 thumbs up..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm so happy with the results! I've never done a floor, ever! This was super easy. I primed the sub floor with a vinyl floor primer and I cut my beautiful Traffic master tiles up into 12" x 3" and I laid it all out in a herringbone pattern with spacers and then grouted it with Fusion pro Dorrian grey grout. I've gotten so many compliments and no one realizes its vinyl! (until I tell them, I cant help it, It just blows my mind, I'm so proud of it) Unfortunately I probably voided that super awesome warranty traffic master has on this flooring because I cut it up, but I would do it again! Traffic master needs to offer other size tile and step up the game on luxury vinyl tile like the 12"x3" tile or a octagon shape. Step up the game to another level in luxury tile!

I have used other flooring tiles in the past, including the "click" type, and this was by far the easiest tile I have ever worked with. I was able to tile a 10x12 room in just over an hour, with almost no waste! And it looks incredible, like real stone tile.

Very disappointed to put in all the work and have them scratched right away by moving the appliances back into place. Not durable. The adhesive did not grip well in a number of spots and needed to be redone. Do not recommend. At least not for an older home where everything isn't 100% square and level. Frustrated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Herringbone ftw! I copied an earlier reviewers idea and laid mine down herringbone in the kitchen. Easy to cut and reposition when necessary. Feels good under the feet and looks great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Thought I had a great idea! I bought the tile to use in place of wallpaper or wallboard on the bottom of my walls. The adhesive is not strong enough to hold in a vertical position. We are working on putting another spray adhesive.i love the look but not the best idea.
