Yes, I installed it in a bathroom with the underlayment about 2 years ago and it has not had any issues. It still looks as good as the day I put it down. I like this type so much that we are doing appx 400 sq foot more just as soon as it gets here.

Soft underlayment can be installed first, but it is not needed. As long as the surface is flat (no upward bumps) they will interlock with ease.

Yes, I believe you could put down a very thin type of padding. Once the slats interlock they're very secure. Its important to make sure the pieces are flat and tightly connected.

We are getting ready to put vinyl planks in half of our Home. We have read up on this and our advice to anyone is to put Felt pads on anything that slides across the floor. We have it on our Chairs Couch and table. and our furniture glides with ease. Home Depot sells these in all sizes and they are self adhesive. They are amazing.

it will scratch with heavy loads but chairs, tables, beds, should not be a problem. what we do is we lay a blanket if possible under items like cloth washers, fridge and you get the picture. so for rentals if you have appliances already set up for tenants you should be fine.

Answer:
I would call it a medium tone, some planks/lots were darker than others and you can see that once it's all down. We have darker kitchen cabinets and lighter trim along one wall, and this blended pretty well. Definite reddish tone to the pattern, good variation in the knots, patterns, grains etc.

Just wondering how slick this is compared to laminate? We have a very happy Labrador Retriever who loves to run through the house and always slips and slides on the laminate we have. Trying to find something with a little more traction.

Answer:
Some styles have a bit more texture than others, but they all have a hard, scratch resistant finish, which means that your dog's nails will slide, rather than digging into the surface. I don't know of any hard surface flooring that will do otherwise. Try doing an online search for "slip reistant flooring", or consider carpeting.

It's got a little texture but it's fairly slick when it's clean. For example, you can run and slide pretty easily wearing socks (in the long direction, but against the grain it's not slippery).

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by OMG this stuff is amazing. I have to tell you from the get go that I foster young puppies. I also have a paralyzed dog who is in a set of wheels. This flooring is amazing, I've had the laminated wood flooring with a "fake bevel" that water got trapped in.....when I mopped I would have to crawl and wipe up with a towel. Eventually the planks "swelled up" in the bevel. But this flooring....it's a flush fit no gaps. And I am in LOVE! Plan on doing my kitchen and bath in the same product only in tile or stone finish. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Old Hickory Nutmeg Vinyl Plank Flooring Cleanliness is the key to installing this flooring. . . sweep, vacuum, sweep, vacuum & repeat daily if it takes longer to complete installation. From start to finish including removing all furniture, carpet, pad, tack strips, & staples; preparing floor surface which included the use of a belt sander to make sure it was flat so I could start out with a good substrate and completing installation took four days for a 14x17 bedroom. This stuff looks amazing & looks really good with our antique oak bedroom set. Aside from the color, the texture reminds me of the old punkin board floors in Maine. Before I moved furniture back into the room I went over the floor with a mop & shine product to protect the floor from scuffs while moving heavy furniture. June 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product They are a nice vinyl planking. The installation was easy once you get the knack of it. I wanted a vinyl rather than a laminate since it's a high traffic hallway. Just installed, so I can't attest to the durability yet. Looks beautiful though. It goes well with my laminate stairs too. May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great floor We laid this floor over an existing vinyl floor in our finished basement. It looks beautiful. It is quite a large room and it took my husband and I four days. If we were younger, we probably could have done it in two (we are 60 and 70 years old). The most challenging part was getting the first two rows lined up. The floor kept moving. We finally landed on putting the unopened boxes on top and that weighted it down so it wouldn't move (see picture). We also found that it was very important to make sure all the boards were firmly seated. We did have to pull up a couple of rows and re-lay them when we found a gap but this was our fault and not the product. January 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent flooring, poor I love this product. It's durable and looks great put down. It's easy to install and very reasonably priced. I'm disappointed with the care and handling of the product. Every single box had broken pieces. Ranging from <5% up to one box having all broken!!! I'm willing to accept 10% damage but most were up to 20% damage. While some didn't matter due to cutting them, the amount of waste was ridiculous. The box that had all of them broken, I'll be returning and demanding an exchange. Overall, the product is excellent but don't be surprised if your pieces are broken August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I love it! This is in the living room, den and master bedroom. I had an experienced installer put it in (too chicken to attempt it myself) and each room took less than a day. I bought this because it's waterproof (lots of dogs) and so far, so good! A quick wipe with a cloth and the evidence is gone. If you get it delivered, be sure to ask where Home Depot will actually drop it off. A pallet sitting at the end of the driveway was a bit inconvenient. July 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good product Easy installation, waterproof, easy to cut, damage resistant August 2, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Looks good, easy install, scratches really easy We chose to go with this flooring because it was advertised as scratch resistant and easy to maintain and it does look good. I don't care if it's easy to install because i have flooring experience. Well, TrafficMASTER is easy to install, it is easy to maintain, but it is NOT scratch resistant. It scratches so easily that stepping on a piece of smarty candy left a scratch, seriously. Even if you put floor protection on the feet of your chairs and table they will still scratch the flooring. They should not be advertising that it is scratch resistant. Overall, the other features don't matter because it won't last long. I give it three years before i get so annoyed with the scratches that I tear it out and put something else in. I used this to replaced an ugly Pergo floor that was at least eight years old. Yes, it was ugly but it didn't have a scratch on it. Needless to say, we are very disappointed. One more thing, try finding the manufacturers website, I couldn't. July 4, 2016
