Answer:
You should remove the floating pad. If you dont it can cause failure at the overlap seems. You want this product to be flat as possible.

Answer:
I wouldn't as the vinyl plank is designed to go over a solid surface. It is not interlocking like laminate, but held together with adhesive, which is strong but may be compromised with the slight flexing you would get over a padded underlayment.

No! It is made to be installed on a solid surface without padding.

Answer:
I don't see any reason why you couldn't. The allure flooring is so resilient and adapts easily. I can't see why you would have a problem.

Answer:
Thank you for your question...no you can not use Allure over the soft padding that is recommended for laminate. The only underlayement that is recommended is a 6 mill poly when installing over a cement or concrete sub-floor.

I really love this floor option and am on the verge of ordering it, but I am so confused about the color. The listing on here looks like blonde tones, but all of the customer images I have seen on here and other sites are deeper tones and contrast. I love the images I see of complete floors but if I order it and get the blonde tones, I would be extremely unhappy. I'm not sure what to do. I've gotten the samples but they are so tiny that i still cannot determine what is an accurate expectation. What is the truest tone here?

(I have already used the Tradition design in the past and it is very accurate to the listing here and other complete photos I have seen online)
thanks

Some of the tiles have corner chunks out of them. Will this affect the vinyl planks?

Answer:
Thank you for your question. If you have pieces that are lifting or cracked pull them up and patch the areas first. Once you have patched any missing pieces you can lay the planks directly over the old floor.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good product already had this flooring in the kitchen of our beach house easy to maintain Added it to the lower level April 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great and feels great Looks great and serves the purpose at a beach rental March 6, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The appearance of wood without the worry I like the look of wood flooring but not how it reacts to water. This floor appears to solve any concerns with moisture. I like the fact that it is a floating floor so the subfloor doesn't have to be perfect. I'll have to see how it holds up to wear, scratching, sun, etc. over time, but so far I've gotten nothing but compliments. June 4, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product for the Price The floor looks beautiful. It was extremely easy to install, and there was such little waste that we returned the 10% extra which had been suggested we buy. However, the floor will mark from sliding things across it, even though we put pads under every leg. These marks do not clean off, so I am hoping they will wear away over time. This is why I rated the quality as average. January 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product for DiY'ers Very easy and fast to install. Has a very professional look with very little skill to install. December 11, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great flooring option I bought this after looking at real wood and laminate wood flooring stock, not just at the Home Depot but other local area flooring companies. I agonized whether this would be as nice as real wood flooring. It truly looks just like real wood and is durable like vinyl. I had a professional install it so I can't speak to ease of installation--although he made it look easy--I wouldn't attempt this on my own! I just had it installed last month so I can't speak to the LONG term durability but I have two dogs who are always tracking in dirt and other stuff and are running around etc., and so far so good, it stands up to them... I think this is one of the best faux wood/vinyl products out there; I researched many other competitors out there (Armstrong among them) I ordered many vinyl wood samples from all over the country--but Trafficmaster's was by far the most realistic in color, texture and overall visual appeal than any other vinyl/wood product. They actually put a wood grain in the texture that other competitor's products either don't bother to do or do an inferior job, which lends a more realistic touch/feel to this product. Especially under bright sunlight conditions when you look at this product versus others brands you see the other vinyl products look very fake in texture and don't fool the eye. If you don't care if the product looks all that realistic then other products can suit your needs just as well. The only downside was the actual vinyl plank is rather thin coming in at around .15 mm many others are made thicker. The thicker products tend to have less give/flexibility so for some applications this might not be a good thing to use. They have a vast variety of wood types and colors (pine, oak, bamboo etc.) most all of the product lines they carry are "special order" they only carry oak, cherry and teak in store (maybe this varies depending on region?), which is a bummer because they have tiny 4"x4" samples and you really cannot tell what the entire plank will look like until you order it, and if you make a mistake in color or decide you don't like it the Home Depot states they will charge you a restock fee which can be 25% of the overall price of the order! Yikes, so be SURE before you order so you don't have to spend more money returning it and buying another color! I took every little 4x4 and laid it out to see the variation in color, because like real wood, the tones and wood characteristics will change in the planks! Take a bunch home with you too (they are free in my local stores) and lay them out-- it will save you some surprises later. The prices at Home Depot were very reasonable versus the price of the laminates and real wood materials. I did my research and I kept coming back to this one. It looks great! September 11, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great looking Floor! I ordered it, had it sent to our home and I (a 50 year old female DIYer) installed it the following weekend. We wanted a modern great looking wood look flooring that was water resistant. We installed it in our laundry room, hall and small bathroom. Going right over our existing vinyl sheet floor saved labor and we saved installation costs by installing it ourselves. The floor looks Great!! My son even commented that it looks better than our "real" wood floor in the kitchen. April 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Terrific flooring option at a reasonable price! This flooring is idiot-proof. Seriously. It installs very easily and looks great. Spills bead up on the surface and remove with no problem. Doesn't scratch or mar with dog paws. I put this in a guest bedroom and am now planning to install it on 3 other flooring projects--two more bedrooms and the kitchen. I've read other reviews that mention a smell associated with the floor which I did NOT notice after the first day. This is a terrific flooring option at a reasonable price for anyone interested in a quick fix flooring solution. I'm a 64 yr old woman, I installed it myself and I had no problem! Like I said, idiot-proof. December 11, 2012
