I just finished spending two weeks installing 18 boxes of this flooring in my home office, living room, and main hallway (approximately 540 square feet total). The actual installation time was probably only 4 days with another day for trim, molding, and transition strips. The floor went in very easily and this was the first flooring of this type I ever attempted to install. The biggest issue from my perspective was ensuring that duplicate patterned planks were not installed near each other. Out of the 18 boxes I bought, there werre probably only 7 or 8 different plank patterns and I really had to plan out each row to ensure the floor maintained a random appearance. In the end, I don't think I could ever find a floor that looks this good for this price...thank you!!!

I ordered this laminate flooring online, and had it drop shipped to my house with no issues. The laminate flooring came on Wednesday, and I installed it on Saturday. Following the directions supplied by the manufacturer, the instalation was extremely easy. This was the first time i have attempted this project on my own. Out of 20 boxes, I had 4 boards that gave me issues, but putting them aside, and using them in another location proved effective. My only advice, is make sure that you ensure the boards are completely joined along the lengthwise seam, I had to adjust a few. It should lay flat easily. The product installed easily in about 6 hours, and was very forgiving, but the toungue can be a little fragile so be careful. I would definately buy this again.

A 50+ Cripple woman here. Had neck fusion plus 15 other surgeries, and WAS ABLE to do this. Herniated disks and all. Had husband clear out the bedroom before he left for a work trip out of town 3 days. Followed instructions viewing the home depot flooring instructions video. Big Plus!
After the first 5 liniar feet had to quit due to pain, but hay, this is doable with proper rest breaks. I waited for Hubby and he finished it in 4 hours on Saturday.
#1 to prevent dammage of seams. use a piece of shim to gently run the toung of each piece or the entire length of a run before you start the next row, there is some loose flake or peel from manufacture. if you remove that you will not get the 1/16th gap struggle!
#2 If you do see the 1/16 gap be careful with the Block tool when tapping because if your not careful it may pop up and injure the laminant edge and you can see that injury, as well on the SIDE seams too. Tap softly.till it clicks. Be patient while doing so.
#3 There is no heavy lifting involved just bending and being on a KNEE PAD HELPS.
This project was 12x14 room we were quoted 8 boxes but only needed 5 cause there was hardly no scrap. (2in here there) We used a table saw to cut the pieces. used a face mask due to dust while cutting,
The only thing a bit anoying is the click click sound of our German shepard's toes walking on it.
It is incredibly Beautiful from the before. we saved about $800 cause we were gonna pay someone to pull tile and put vinyl or tile. YOU DONT SMELL GLUE OR CHEMICALS. BIG BIG PLUS.

I put Ainsley oak in my rental house and it looks really nice, held up well so far. The only problem I saw at all was very slight gap here and there which taps easily back into place. It was a cheap solution to carpet.

My son and I replaced wall-to-wall carpeting with this flooring. We have never done a project like this before and was impressed with the ease of use. All that was required was some basic tools. I was able to cut the wood easily (as needed) with a jig saw.

I wanted to have a floor to dance on, but I am living in a rented apartment, so installing hardwood floor is not an good choice in terms of cost. So I went with this lowest cost option. I read all the reviews, some good, some bad but still decided to go with it, with the thought of returning to Home Depot if I didn't like the product. Free shipping, yay! Installation was straight forward, so easy, right on top of my old low-pile carpet floor. The only tools required are a mallet and a table-saw. I love the look and feel. I am so happy that I am able to dance salsa on this floor. So far this has been great.

I purchased this product on 2/22/13. Thought it was going to be a lot harder to install than vinyl self stick tiles... but it turns out it wasn't all that bad and looks better I think. After reading reviews, and the THD Customer Service response from the manufacturer for reviewer FLOORGUY on the page after this review, and a few tips from people who have put laminate planks down in the past, I got helpful tips on how to make this project go smoothly. One tip I have for anyone about to start this project, is to go read that response, and take your time when doing this. If you run into planks leaving a 1/16" gap STOP, put a previously cut scrap piece next to it and tap with a hammer. All pieces should lock together with no gap at all.
Granted I have not had this floor put down for long, and cannot comment about longevity, but I would recommend this for a friend as a good flooring.

This is my second time installing laminate flooring. My husband purchased this flooring in hopes to save money. Unfortunately this is not the case because the flooring is not a good product and if I could take it back, I would.
If you want a hurt body, chipped flooring, and to waste time then buy the Ainsley Oak.
