What about setting a toilet and a small vanity on this so called floating floor?

Asked by: Scooter
I have done both and did not have any problems with either one. Although it says it's a "floating floor" that gap around the edges is only to allow for some slight expansion and contraction due to potential temperature variations throughout the year. It actually does not move once it's down and you reinstall your base boards, toilet or other fixtures.

can we buy a partial case?

can we buy a partial case or individual pcs?
Asked by: robin
This was a pattern that had to be special ordered (at no extra charge) from the Home Depot in my area (Flint and Saginaw, Michigan) I doubt that you can by partial cases if you have to order them.

Is this tile groutable?

Asked by: Tamdancer
No. This is not actually a tile product so there is no grouting required. Each tile has an adhesive edge and a receiving edge on opposite edges so once you put the first row down the adhesive part of the next row matches up to glue the next row to the first one. Be careful to match the seams as you go along as the instructions show and you will end up with a great looking floor. It's very easy to install.

Customer Reviews

Allure 12 in. x 24 in. River Stone Luxury Vinyl Tile Flooring (24 sq. ft. / Case) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Order extra cartons -- my order of 12 cartons had 1-2 broken tiles on the bottom of each carton. ... Order extra cartons -- my order of 12 cartons had 1-2 broken tiles on the bottom of each carton. Fortunately I only needed 11 cartons and returned the remainder to HD for credit. I like this pattern a lot and expect the matte finish to wear better than their wood grain finishes. It's been down for just a week. I've had Trafficmaster Allure Bamboo [which has a more satiny finish] here for 6 years of use by tenants and it showed some scuffs and gouges but I had the flooring pro replace those planks -- thank goodness Bamboo is still available! Given the condition of the rest of the duplex, I believe the tenants did not keep the Bamboo vinyl clean weekly which increased wear as dirt was ground in. Following manufacturer's instructions, I was able to remove most serious dirt and less serious scuffs with cleaner and a Teflon pad. The rolling height sub-floor isn't a problem for the flexible product, but be sure to smooth out specific bumps, like nail heads.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product I have used this flooring before and it is easy to install. It looks great and comes in many styles and colors. I've put it in another bathroom and a laundry room and it has proved very durable. I had it delivered to my home and unfortunately the box was damaged in shipping with one corner on most of the tiles being broken. Since I was installing it in a small bathroom I was able to salvage enough tiles out of the box to complete the project. I would have it delivered to the store next time which may have avoided this situation. Overall though I'm very pleased with the product itself. My overall rating does reflect the damaged tiles and not the product itself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect choice for a stone/ceramic tile look. Lots of "ooo-aahhs" from wife and friends. This was a first for me...having never installed flooring of any type. Allure made it simple and a professional final look. The hardest part of the project was removing old carpet and padding, scrapping adhesive off concrete and patching tack holes in the concrete. There are many videos on YouTube that show how to install the vinyl tile...they helped a lot. The adhesive system that holds the tiles together is amazing! Once you have laid a half dozen tiles you get the hang of it. Again, I can't believe the final looks like stone not vinyl, and it looks so professional, I'm so proud of this project as I drag people in to look at it! Thanks Home Depot and Allure!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice! Installed in a small kitchen. Easy to work with. Be sure to let the tiles acclimate for a few days and leave a small gap around perimeter, I covered the gap with shoe molding. Very pleased with results!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome This was super easy for my husband and myself to install. The end result looks awesome :-) Also the reason for the purchase was to give our tent trailer a face lift. It really needed a floor update.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Allure Riverstone Resilient final tile flooring We were able to install this flooring with minimal difficulty in an afternoon. It is very important to pay attention to the colors within the tiles otherwise you can end up with "strips" instead of a flowing floor color.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So Far So Good My husband & his brothers installed our Allure floor in our kitchen. It took about 4 hrs total. It has been in for 3 weeks and so far, we are very happy. It was very easy to install, once you get the hang of it. We did not have any problems getting things to line up. The directions are on the box, there are no paper directions inside. We have not had any seams popping or gapping as I have heard can happen. We are looking to get 5-7 years of use of the floor until we renovate our kitchen and the Allure rated for much longer. We wanted the floating type floor because it will be easier to remove in the future. We laid it out over luan subfloor that was under a layer of sick linoleum (see photo). The floor coordinates with our stainless and oak cabinets very well. I am very happy with the way it looks and feels. I hope we do not have any future problems with the seams, that is my only reservation for 4/5 stars. I will likely update review after a year or so and let you know how it has held up :)
