Customer Questions & Answers

Is this easy to clean?

Someone said this might be hard to clean because of the raised texture.
Asked by: Anonymous
We've only had it about a month, but we haven't had any problem with cleaning. Also we think it's feels smooth.

I have 8"x8" ceramic floor with 3/8" grout between tile. Can this Traffic Master Allure planking be installed without removing the old floor

Asked by: Anonymous
If it's really flat and well laid tile, then I say go ahead. It will absolutely work. It's just will you feel any bumps under your feet afterward? Depends on the condition of the tile. You could also float a layer of Ram board underneath to give it a little extra help. Just tape the strips of Ram board and be sure not to overlap them. Lock it down with the quarter round at the cabinet bases and baseboard at the walls, as I'm sure you already know.

The material was affordable and very easy to install and trim to size. The finished results were outstanding. We will be using it in other rooms of our house, as the tile itself is really beautiful. Hard to believe it is vinyl. We have had it for about a week and are ready to do the next bathroom.

I laid the first floor about four years ago. It has been very durable and held up well to a lot of traffic but it's a mud room and the light color showed the dirt too much. It was easy to lift up the old floor and lay down the new one. This color is turning out to be much better for a mud room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product is superb:Supply line, not so much I am very impressed with the flooring I ordered. It couldn't be nicer. However, I ordered 3 cases of flooring.( I needed 50 square feet and each case has 48 sq. Ft.) This would allow for trimming, etc. When it came time to install the flooring I discovered that two cases were correct (pattern-wise) and 1 was not! Totally different flooring! Fortunately, I was able to complete the job with about 2 square inches of flooring left over from the 48 sq.ft. that was correct. Now, I am wondering what to do about the extra case of flooring. I am in discussion with our nearby Home Depot as to how to return the product. But, Allure flooring is the BEST!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick, Cheap, AND Good! They say you can only have two out of three, but I think this product is all of the above! I have installed Allure in many areas now and still love it after 4+ years! This tile one is especially nice for kitchens and bathrooms, where I've used it, but I can see it in laundry rooms, entryways, mudrooms, screened-in porches, sunrooms or basements, too! Super easy to install: I used a metal yard stick, a pencil and a razor knife with plenty of fresh blades (trust me you are doing yourself a favor to change/flip your blade every few rows or so!) I also used double-sided vinyl floor tape to hold my first row in place while I worked, since it is a floating floor. This stuff wears great, too! Hides dirt or the occasional scratch if you're hard on your flooring due to pets, kids, parties, etc. I vacuum or sweep mine and then mop every so often. Swiffer Wet Jet works great on this floor, too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good....definitely love it. After excessive amounts of online research and reading and re-reading hundreds of reviews and onine posts, I decided to order this flooring from my local store (it is cheaper to have it shipped to the store) for my kitchen/dining area. You can actually borrow the sample boards of any of the patterns made by the manufacturer at your local store and they can order the product for you and load it in our vehicle when it comes in. I was self installing (had previous experience installing self stick vinyl tile) but mostly a very basic do it yourselfer, no expert here :) I purchased a new knife and a packet of titanium blades. Definitely get the titatnium as they stay sharp longer and you will be changing blades quite frequently. I also got a square to make very straight cuts and used my tape measure. We love the flooring so far. It looks great, no not like real tile, it is obviously vinyl but the colors in the patina are wonderful and the slightly raised pattern helps to hide any imperfections, such as shiny marks or scratches. I specifically chose this pattern because it would mask any wear and tear and with three kids and 2 dogs there is going to be wear and tear. I, like other reviewers, have had some shiny marks where things have been dragged on the floor (had a new stove installed and installers were not as careful as I would have liked). I have found that any vinyl floor has this "shiny mark" issue. Any of the vinyl's I have used before with the self stick tile anyway. I would have to say install was not a breeze per se, but it was not bad. I had a big area to deal with and two rooms converging into each other so I had to really plan out where to start. I also was going over hideous old ceramic tile so I had to put a leveler on all the grout marks (you will too if you are using this over ceramic tile, the instructions clearly state this). Cutting it was not a problem as long as you keep using a sharp blade. I installed in the beginning of January when it was VERY cold out but I kept the house heat kicked up into the 70s. I also used a hair dryer on the edges to really gum up the glue for a good stick. I did not roll the seams but used a tamper we had in our garage. I covered up the heavy square bottom with a very plush old towel and just pushed it around over the seams. As it has been nearly three months without a problem of lifting seams, I think it worked quite well. There are some very small gaps between the seams in some areas. Again, this is an issue I have had with self stick tiles and even with our solid wood floor. There will be gaps as it is the nature of beast (if cut outer edges are off by anything, even a millimeter, or a slightly unlevel area, or a plank could be off by the merest fraction of a mm by the manufacturer.....). It took me a good three solid days of work but then again I had to prep my exisitng floor first and I had kids to deal with so I had to take breaks somewhat often oh and I had ALOT of cutting because of the layout of the two rooms. ALOT. But it really turned out great. I love the floor so much more than my old one and I am the only one who notices the tiny imperfections :) It is quiet to walk on and so much warmer than the ceramic tile we covered up. I actually would like to do a bedroom in one of the wood patterns eventually. I would post a picture if I could.....
