Two years ago we put the vinyl tile flooring in our kitchen and it looked beautiful. All of a sudden the seams are showing (round toothpick size gaps) what could have caused this? I bought some floor filler today to fill in the gaps...it's that bad. Not very happy because this floor was expensive to put in.

The description of video says it is good for water susceptible areas, however description says not waterproof

Asked by: Pete
No, it is by no means waterproof. Spills here and there are ok, but don't let it get underneath the flooring. I had not sealed where the edge of the flooring at my back door. I pressure washed my patio and water got underneath the flooring and border of each piece, curled up at bit. Not bad and you can't see it from a distance, but when you walk barefooted, sometimes the corners will get you and you feel the edges where they have curled up a bit. We're living with it, but it did bother me. I've since sealed by both doors.

Is this available without the grey line running thru it ?

I would like to buy this product (Sierra) without the grey line that makes it look like grout between the tiles. is it avaiable? What is the delivery time to Ft Lauderdale, Fl 33316. Thanks.
Asked by: Anonymous
If you mean the fake grout line, then no. But during my preliminary shopping/planning I did see vinyl plank flooring that didn't have grout lines printed on it. The grout lines make this "slate" looking vinyl look more authentic IMO.

Putting this in my RV - about 30 sq ft - you have a warning about controlled temps

On the internet numerous folks have said that Allure works great in their RVs and motorhomes, and that the + heat or - cold temps don't really stress the floors when you are not talking about large areas. What do you think of this?
Asked by: cojohn143
Thank you for your interest in Allure Sierra Resilient Vinyl Tile Flooring. Please note that if this flooring is installed in a non-temperature controlled environment, the warranty will be voided.

I'm giving it two stars because it was a pretty floor when it was put down. Two years later the seams show (I can now fit a round toothpick in some of the seams) this is heartbreaking. I spent about $1100.00 on this flooring for my kitchen. Today I bought some seam filler hoping to hide the gaps, I can't afford to replace this floor. In the future, I was going to by the Allure wood look snap planks for the rest of my house and now I don't know if I should.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty, but not very scratch resistant. The floor looks beautiful, but scratched very easily when I rehung the closet door. A Sharpie covered it pretty well, but I was quite dismayed that it scratched so easily. We're in the process of moving in, so not sure what the long term durability of this floor will be.

It went together very easily and looks great. Just wished someone would have mentioned the very lite guide lines in the grouted areas on the tile which helped greatly with the correct cutting of the tiles. My only problem was 2 of the 4 cases came with damaged pieces. Would strongly recommend you check each case before leaving the store. But we are very happy with flooring as it looks excellent and is really seamless through out the room.

At the time I was 39, I'm a female and wanted something inexpensive and easy to install . It was just that, and looked great. I had horrible white linoleum that I was trying to cover and I just popped it right over it. I have 2 kids and 2 Labradors who are very rough. 5 years later, there are some gaps and some of the areas that my dogs consistently spilled water were lifting, but a little gorilla glue and they went back down. There are a few high traffic areas that are starting to wear but for the price its been well worth it for 5 years. I put some of the "wood look" ones in my finished basement. They don't seem to wear as well, but again, it was about cost and ease. So bottom line, if you want an inexpensive product that looks great, but aren't expecting a vinyl product to last as long as real tile/hard wood, this is your buy.

I am very pleased with it. I have 5 small dogs who gallop through the house and their are still no scratches from their nails. The Allure floor cleaner/polish works wonders to keep the sheen. I am now having it installed upstairs, as well. Highly recommend!
