Customer Questions & Answers

What is the best way to purchase this flooring, through the site or through the store?

Asked by: Anonymous
I ordered through the store and picked the product up at the store because it was winter and I didn't want the product to sit out in the cold. Don't forget to order transition strips if you will need to change direction when laying the floor.

On the TrafficMaster Allure 6 in. x 36 in. Bamboo Light Resilient Vinyl Plank Flooring, how much does the dye lots differ? How many planks are in a case? Thanks, Randy, CA. 95660
Asked by: Anonymous
I could tell no difference what so ever between dye lots, I did try to alternate which box I pulled from, but my floor ended up very uniform.

which is more likely to buckle as a result of spilled liquid: vinyl or solid bamboo? And, which can be installed over vinyl/linoleum squares??

Asked by: Anonymous
probably solid bamboo. Vinyl is very durable. This product can be installed over hardwood or other flooring. Thin flooring, but installation goes over and is still smooth

Allure 6 in. x 36 in. Bamboo Light Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring (24 sq. ft. / Case) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 54.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great option for bathroom floor. A little harder to install than the video shows. Once first was laid and figured (at entrance and around a vent) it went easier.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Allure Bamboo Horrible. I want to win the $250 for my time, money and energy spent installing this product. After many trips to local store, I ordered and waited 2 weeks for product. Professional installed it and same evening, there were marks all over it. Scuff marks from little traffic as I live by myself. This is not a product you want in the kitchen! Daylight shows all sorts of lines. It is like there is no hard finish to seal floor. If something spills on it, you better get it up quick! Back to linoleum for me. Will have to redo the entire floor and hallway.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Allure vs. Allure Ultra We initially bought this flooring for a small bathroom installation, but were not clear about the difference between Allure and Allure Ultra flooring (the website descriptions do not make this distinction very prominent, and we only saw individual Allure Ultra planks in the store -- the in-store displays do not show how the planks are connected). We were expecting the snap-to planks (Allure Ultra), not the adhesive-bound planks (Allure), but these are the adhesive-bound (Grip-Strip) ones. For a bathroom, we were worried that the adhesive bindings might not do well in a humid environment (there are some discouraging YouTube videos out there that scared us, and indeed several people have told us that this is why Allure Ultra was developed). We returned the planks and have ordered the Allure Ultra instead (return at our local HD was very easy, and with the free shipping we did not lose out on shipping fees). The Allure Ultra does appear to be the right flooring for wet/humid spaces, and we are currently waiting for delivery on those. So by all means check to make sure that you are getting the kinds of flooring you want/need for your particular situation. The HD website should have better pictures of the product, larger images of the textures as well as pictures of the whole planks, so that one can immediately see the difference between the Allure and Allure Ultra products. Some people in marketing really fell down on this one -- products need to be named so that their differences are readily understood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful, high quality flooring for a great price This flooring was a lot cheaper than most of the other options we were looking at, so we were a little worried about the quality. When it arrived, however, it was beautiful and easy to install. It fit perfectly in our bathroom, and looks like real bamboo flooring. It was easy to trim the pieces around the tub and toilet. A great alternative to real bamboo in a wet place (bathroom, kitchen, etc.) Highly recommended!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great with one flaw Floor was easy to install. Score and snap the planks to size. However, the adhesive is weak and the floor is peeling up in many places even though it was well conditioned to the space. If you buy this product (and it IS beautiful), consider supplementing the adhesive somehow.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bamboo not as good as other Trafficmaster I've installed I've used Trafficmaster Allure in the past and have been very pleased with the ease of installation and the durability over time. But for some reason, the batch of bamboo patterned flooring I received scratches easily and has an interesting odor to it that was not an issue in the past. It also isn't sticking together at the seams as well as the last Allure floor I installed. The pattern of the bamboo is also very repetitive, so it instantly looks like laminate, whereas the last pattern I used fooled contractors at a first glance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this floor. Great buy! Please take into account that most people who put reviews have something negative to say. I was a little worried about this product because of some of the negative reviews. However, I chose to believe that a big company like Home Depot would not continue to sell a product that was not profitable and was getting a lot of complaints. I'm glad I believed! This is a great floor! We have two 50lb dogs and were worried about the floor showing scuffs and scratches. So, far we have had no complaints about this. It is August and we installed the floor in February. They run through the kitchen all the time. It is a little slippery for them, but they have adjusted. I read one review that complained about glue seeping from the seam after installation. I must say, that is partially true. With installation, there are times that you touch the tops of other planks with the glue from another. This was actually very minor. The day after installation, I quickly went over the glue with some vinyl floor cleaner and a scrub sponge. It very easily came off and I did that for a couple of days when a few new spots would appear. Since then, It has been no problem! I put my flooring in my kitchen, so installation was a bit more complicated because I had 6 doorways and two closets off my kitchen and back hall. I did have to reverse direction once to do the area by the sink. I had forgotten to order the reverse strips(which I highly reccomend) and made reverse strips myself out of extra pieces. Still, it turned out perfect. Another complaint I saw was about gaps between the planks. Yes, some of the planks did not lie completely flush. There are very small dark lines between some of the planks. I happen to like this. I think it makes it look even more like real wood flooring. In 6 months, I have had no issues with any of the flooring coming up or separating. I did rent a 100 pound floor roller as suggested by some other reviews. This may have helped. There was real hardwood bamboo flooring on sale for the same price per sq foot when I bought the Allure flooring. I chose it because it would go over my existing floor with no preparation and I would not have problems with changes in floor height to connecting rooms. I'm VERY happy with this product!
