Answer:
I've used this product under my office chair to protect the hardwood flooring. It is amazing how well it has held up - it shows no wear at all even after 2 years of abuse. There is frequently dirt / grit under my chair wheels ( office is right by a much used exterior door ) as well as my feet.
So yes - I would recommend this producr for pretty much any application.

I purchased trafficmaster allure plank flooring for my entire first floor. I have an osb sub floor with areas covered in cement. I was told I should use an underlayment since I have cement and osb combined. I am not sure what type of underlayment would be best for this flooring since it is a floating floor and more flexible than a laminant floor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super pleased with this flooring! I am so pleased. Our family includes kids, messy adults, dogs and a cat so vinyl planking is a fantastic option for us. It is super durable, easy to clean and waterproof. I had previously used vinyl plank (a different brand) and was happy with the results, but this product exceeded my expectations. It is thick and looks great over the subfloor. I love the country pine design. It looks like real wood. Finishing the basement soon and can't wait to install this down there.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Product has inconsitant quality... I bought 10 cases af the Allure Commercial Collection Country Pine. Each case weighs forty pounds. One case had a crushed corner which I didn't see at pick-up. Several planks in this case were damaged but I was able to use them in an area that would always have furniture over it. I suspect that someone dropped the 40 lb. case crushing the corner I also bought a carbide tipped tool in HD that was great for scoring the plank. I then used tin shears to cut it. A regular box cutter was worthless. I downloaded the PDF User Guide which was a lot easier to read then the boxed instructructions. I used the 1 foot,x 2 ft. x3 ft. pattern on a 11'X19" floor., family room.. there was little waste. I also used knee pads which helped a lot. Some planks were almost a 1/16" wider in the center than on the ends. This doesn't sound like much but it caused a gap problem You cannot get the gap to close and it just rerpeats itself. This was frustrating to me but I already had too much done to rip it all up I rationalized that this was only the family room and throw rugs could/would be used. The installation went smoothlly. I needed two days so I carefully covered the sticky joints with the waxed paper that came in the box for the overnite. This worked fine and kept this surface clean and sticky. Because of the inconsitancy of the plank widths, I cannot recommend this without reservation. The planks look good and I have gotten nice comments about the floor,,,but I KNOW where the mistakes are!!! Time will tell if it holds up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is BEAUTIFUL! After fighting carpet in our dining room, hallway and bathroom for 13 years, we decided to upgrade to the Allure vinyl planks in our mobile home. We live on a farm and have 3 dogs (one of which is a 2 1/2 month old puppy) so I wanted a floor with the best wear protection I could find which is why we bought the commercial quality for a little more than the regular Allure. We have now laid the Allure in the Kitchen/Dining room, hallway and main bathroom (approx 425 sq ft). Having never laid a floor like this, I must say it was much easier than I anticipated. It took longer to pull the old carpet out and all the staples than to lay the flooring. I did find that tin snips worked better for me to trim the long sides and cut in around doorways where necessary than scoring and snapping (which worked fine for the short edges). After we got the floor installed, we moved 2 refrigerators, a stove, a china hutch and a cabinet over the installed floor with no scratches!. Granted, we were careful. I did buy felt protectors for the bottoms of the kitchen chairs since we did notice a few small scratches (very minor) where they are used. My husband is even impressed with this floor-the way it went down and how great it looks! It doesn't look like printed vinyl, and with the plank style and embossing it really does look like wood. But I really like the colors - it has a little more of a cherry tone in it which doesn't show up well on the computer but does a little more on the sample. It pulls all the tones in my kitchen together - LIght cherry wood cabinets and the light and dark colors from the counter top which is fusion granite and deep dark walnut of my hutch and dining set. PERFECT! The only problem we had with the shipment was with the freight carrier. They had several mis-steps in getting the product to us in a timely fashion which they admitted to. Plus, due to the routing and re-routing and multiple stops during the shipping, the pallet took some rough treatment so one of the boxes had a smidge of damage to the corners of the planks, but we were still able to use them for starter pieces. All in all, we had very little waste - out of a total of 20 boxes, we don't even have one box of cut pieces left. I have read the reviews about the smell and that did give me pause but I would say that is an exaggerated problem. When first laid, it does strongly smell like a new vinyl shower curtain , but the smell is dissipating over time. Overall, I feel this is a great product for the areas in the home that get the most wear and tear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Was the perfect solution for laying on concrete slab. I obsessed over which flooring to lay over concrete slab after I pulled up the carpet at our new house. I read a lot of reviews, so figure I should come back and review it too. First, I chose this particular style - country pine - because it was a Deal of the Day. I didn't choose it because it was my favorite finish. I think that some of the other finishes look more realistic. The bamboo, for example, might be more believable on the floor. This flooring does not fool me into thinking that I laid old pine boards. But with that said, our house has laminate in another room, and it doesn't look very real either. I think that both are real enough, and the look on the floor was much better than I would have guessed from the swatch in the store. Now, onto the things I love about it: - I laid this flooring almost entirely by myself. I'm a female who does a lot of DIY work, but I've never laid any kind of floor. I worked for 12 straight hours, through the night, and floored about 500 square feet. That was one office, and one very large family room. The only part I needed help on was the boards that needed to be shortened to be narrower. It was pretty difficult to make those cuts break off, and my hands were pretty exhausted. The normal cuts/snaps to break off the ends for each row are easy. - I'm thrilled with the fact that it's waterproof. We just added a new puppy to the family, and our other dog wasn't always reliably house trained either. They both have accidents by the back door with regularity, and there are zero issues with it damaging the floor. At my last house, I had beautiful solid wood floors that I worried for constantly. - It's better under foot than the laminate we have in the house. The laminate has that weird echo-y tap sound when you walk on it. This floor is solid to walk on. And, despite being pretty thin, it makes the room much more comfy to walk in than the concrete slab below it. - I had a lot extra, so I laid some in our mudroom too. That room is not climate controlled. It had old indoor-outdoor carpet that I pulled up, and the concrete underneath looked awful. I know that the TrafficMaster Allure isn't approved for rooms that don't have AC and heat, but I figured it was worth a shot since the room was small. It's been down for a couple of months, in the heat of summer, and I haven't had any issues with it peeling up. - I didn't rent a roller to finish the floors. We walked on them, and encouraged the kids to scoot across them and dance. We had a few pieces peeling up the second day, right after the floors were laid. We pressed them back firmly, and there haven't been any other problems. It's been about 2.5 months. - The floor did smell for the first week or so. It's a skunk-like odor, and I only smelled it in the morning. I'd read about this, and got very scared that it wouldn't go away. But it did, completely. I'd honestly forgotten all about it until I was about to submit this review. Zero smell now. The floors were an amazing value for the money, in my opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love This Flooring We purchaced this for our bedroom to try out the product. I have wanted to try the Allure for several years, but my husband was not sure if he would like it. We had little difficulty with the install. It looks much better than laminate, deadens sound, looks like real wood, and is easy to clean. We like it so much we plan on doing several more rooms.
