Customer Questions & Answers

How should I transition from tile with a curved corner?

How should I transition from tile with a curved corner? The curve is about 9x9" (a quarter of an18" diameter circle let's say). Also, the tile is .25" thick and the Allure is .15 thick, so there is a height difference. I'm afraid the vacuum could chip the tile if I don't treat this properly. Thanks for your help.

put the piece, if possible, in position next to the curve, and use a compass to transfer the curve. Use a utility knife to carefully work the curve. Use many passes and don't try to remove it all at once. Once cut and fitting, and the floor is done. Get a small tube of clear Silicon caulk. A small bead up next to this won't be visible and it will keep things from getting in. It's what I used between my patio door and the new floor.

Installation of Allure on a tile floor

Will it be possible to install the Allure vinyl product on a tile floor without filling in the grout lines. If not, what product would you recommend to fill the grout lines with or should we remove the tile floor completely. We have concrete under the tiles. Thank you
Asked by: kgatl
Thank you for your interest in the TrafficMaster Allure Resilient Vinyl Plank flooring in Country Pine. Allure can be installed over these floors, but any embossing or grout lines that exceed 1/8” will require you to level the floor first with a cementitious/leveling patching compound.

We installed Allure country pine flooring in a bedroom, bathroom, hallway and laundry room. After a few days, we noticed small strips in several

spots. they are about 12" long and 1" wide and kinda look like glue, but they are not sticky and we can't get them off. Any ideas or anyone else had this problem?
Asked by: Anonymous
If the defect wasn't already there before you installed the flooring, something has happened during or right after you installed the floor to create the "strips". I would attempt to remove the defect by using a solvent such as: Alcohol or a product called, "Goof Off", and a soft cloth, to remove what looks like glue from your vinyl tile. You need to question the installer of your tile to decide what might be causing the problem; mis-handling of any product can result in defects that would be difficult to repiar.

Can you use a steam mop on this floor or would it mess up the sticky glue part that holds the pieces together?

Asked by: Anonymous
do not use a steam mop....it will remelt the glue and will cause it to break down prematurely.

Is the product available in golden oak finish

Asked by: Anonymous
This oak pattern is lovely...you just have to see it to decide whether it would qualify for your descriptiion of "golden" (probably used by another manufacturer to describe the color of their product). Viewing online doesn't do it justice; go directly to Home Depot to see and feel how much this resembles real pine flooring (they have even included knot holes in the pattern). This flooring is golden enough for anyone !!!

Is this a peel/stick product? Where is it made?

Asked by: Anonymous
This is a grip strip product. There are tabs on the end of the long and short side that stick to each other and not the floor

Allure 6 in. x 36 in. Country Pine Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring (24 sq. ft. / Case) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 362.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for woman w/o a lot of tools! Purchased my first home almost 6 yrs. ago, wanted to replace all carpet with something like laminate, but need of table saw and carpentry tools, its susceptibility to water damage, and noise factor, discouraged me. Salesman showed me this product, brand new at the time - did EVERYthing myself in just a few days with only an exacto knife and pair of shears. Visitors LOVE it, can't believe its not real wood, No worries about water spills, and the rustic pine hides any wear and tear from my dog or furniture moving .The acrylic paint spills in my art studio peel right off, and the Allure cleaner keeps it looking great. The clear, yet humorous instructions and the great warranty gave me confidence It was the perfect choice!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely disappointed We went to Home Depot looking for a floor replacement and the clerk led us over to this product immediately highly recommended it for our floor. We purchased the flooring, installed it and it looked good and we were pleased. Within a couple of weeks, we noticed a bump. Within a month there are several hard bumps and ripples in our floor. We have called Home Depot and were told to call Trafficmaster and they have not returned our call. My husband worked 2 days installing this floor and it looked perfect but there is evidently a bad defect in this flooring for it to have developed these imperfections.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 years later still looks good My Allure was installed by Home Depot so I can't really rate the ease of installation. Love the floors and only have to Swiffer them. People comment on my beautiful hardwood, haha, and nearly 5 years later these still look nice although we've had kids and pets running around. If low maintenance flooring is important to you, this is the stuff.

I installed it in a bonus room above a garage to give the room a finshed look. It's also very comfortable on the feet & legs if you have to stand for a long period of time on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable, looks awesome! I will say, that with any flooring as long as you are making sure your floor is level, clean and ready to go, you will have no problem installing this. Just be meticulous in your seams. It will reward you over and over. My husband installed this in a day, after all the floor prepping of the last week we had to do. Totally worth it. I will say that the color I chose for our bathroom wall darkened a lot after we installed this. That was my only concern, but honestly I should have known better, going from a near white 1990's sheet vinyl to this mid-tone wood color. We love this product, and it is much nicer on the feet than ceramic tile. The slip factor is significantly reduced too. We are going to be using a similar product, as a result, in other areas of our home for future renovation projects.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice flooring I have purchased Allure flooring for my kitchen and basement family rooms. It is easy to install and scores easily. This was the first plank style I tried but knew I wanted same type of flooring as I have used before. My only problem was that I started in the bathroom knowing I wanted a seamless transition to my bedroom. I should have started in the bedroom and worked towards the bathroom because I had to fit seams under to finish which was a little challenging with the sticky tack strip. It is finished now and looks great! This is an inexpensive way to change your flooring that is water resistant.
