Customer Questions & Answers

Can you purchase individual boards or just an entire box?

Asked by: Anonymous
We found them individual in the store, but I am not sure if they would sell them by the plank online.

can i get some samples, and what is the surface like.......slippery or has traction?

I have a large, long legged dog who jumps on and off the bed. I don't want a dangerous surface that is slippery. Also, does it scratch easily?
Asked by: meme
There are samples in the store (at least here in Arizona). There are two versions of this product, I would suggest the more costly one as the less costly does scratch (like a vinyl). The more sturdy version is more like wood. It is a bit slippery, but less slippery than a wood floor (we have both). I believe a dog would like it as it does feel cool.

How level must the subfloor be?

I would like to put this over a concrete floor that has vinyl stick on tiles covering it right now. 1) it seems like there shouldn't be a problem to put it over the tiles, right? 2) the concrete floor has a slight slant towards shower area. It causes a problem with the vinyl tiles because they tend to come up. Should I level the floor?
Asked by: bathroomredo
The planks are flexible (like vinyl) but stick together only on the sides. I would think this would be a good choice for a slight slant in a floor. I am not sure how well it would stick to previous vinyl, but the ends are very sticky.

Which has more of a white tone- Coventry Oak or Alpine Elm?

The photos make it hard to tell.
Asked by: Anonymous
I am not sure, but the light choice in this product is borderline white with a tint of gray.

Customer Reviews

Allure 6 in. x 36 in. Coventry Oak Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring (24 sq. ft. / Case) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coventry Oak - Gorgeous! Best decision I've made in a long while. I didn't want a dark floor in this room and this is perfect. Perfect neutral tone that goes with everything. I have no idea what some people are talking about re using a jigsaw, etc. to make the cuts. You just need a razor knife. I used the little ones where you pop off the top piece of the razor to refresh. One just needs to score it on the good side. Lightly too. Then fold the plank, lightly score the back. Check YouTubes. I installed this over a horrifyingly bad subfloor. I did try to feather in some high spots with floor patch but for everything else, this is so thick it rides over everything. Floor is a gorgeous matte finish. Stunning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this floor! I put this floor down in my rental kitchen (with the landlord's permission of course, they even paid for the supplies and I just provided the labor) to cover an ugly, damaged, dated linoleum floor. The only thing I did to prep the existing floor was to clean it really well. The vinyl planks were super easy to install. It took me about five hours to do roughly 130 square feet. The planks were easy to score and snap when needed. I followed the directions carefully, and let the planks acclimate in the kitchen for 48 hours before starting. There were no 100 pound floor rollers available for rent anywhere near me, so I used a rolling pin. I simply rolled over each seam as I put the planks in place, using as much of my body weight on the rolling pin as possible. It's been a month since I installed the floor and I haven't had any problems with lifting or anything. The floor looks as great as it did the day I installed. I absolutely love the color and I am pretty impressed with just how much the planks look like real wood. The floor itself is really comfortable to walk on and feels nice underfoot. All in all I am really happy with this product. I have no background in home improvement and have never installed any flooring before, but I was more than capable of doing this floor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from as advertised Developed small separation in one spot. It was tight when put down. No way to push it together once its down. I am trying to come up with ideas on how to fill it? Looks very nice and comfortable to walk on though. Need some muscle to fit them together. cuts easy with utility razor knife.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great alternative to laminate floors I was looking for flooring for two bathrooms and wanted to go over top of the existing vinyl. I needed something easy to install, relatively inexpensive and great looking. Luxury vinyl planks were the answer. The look is outstanding and it's comfortable underfoot. No clicking like laminate and much warmer than tile. Installation is simple once you get the hang of it. The adhesive tabs are super sticky and really stay stuck. I'd recommend working in a cooler room because I had a problem with excessive sticking when the room got too warm. I'd recommend this product to anyone and will definitely buy it again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This light-colored floor shows installation imperfections. I used this product to replace carpet in my master bathroom. There is a very slight difference in the width of the planks from one end to the other. This causes a slight gap between the planks where two other planks meet. (See photo) This gap shows up as a black streak. I think the gap would not be noticeable if the planks were a darker color so I'm considering using the autumn oak plank for my kitchen and laundry room. My wife loves the white-washed look and doesn't object to the gaps. I'm more of a perfectionist and it was frustrating to realize that there was nothing I could do to eliminate the gaps.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bad Batch! Have used trafficmaster several times before and have self-installed. This batch I bought to redo my kitchen and it has turned out horrible. The planks would not seal correctly and still have not sealed to each other. I have several spots where the planks have come apart from each other and with this coloring it is very very noticeable. I am very unhappy with this and may not use it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Home depot must hate me I'm very picky. I tried almost every color of allure ordered a box of each before deciding on this one. Coventry Oak was the best. Floor looks amazing! Light color makes the room look bigger. I wanted white but this light wood color actually looks better. I was worried about separation showing with the white but so far it's not bad. Slight gaps are not very noticeable make it look more like real wood planks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Painless installation, beautiful floor! I installed a 90 square foot floor by myself in under three hours. All I needed was a t-square and a utility knife. The floor looks awesome. Perfect if you have kids that spill a lot. Thinking of doing the whole third floor.
