can i use my steam mop on this floor

Asked by: carol
Yes, you can use your steam mop as long as you don't leave it on one spot for very long. Say you stand up your steam mop and walk away. It may soften the flooring or cause the adhesive to release. FYI, it is also a danger for any type of floor to leave a steam mop running unattended. I have a steam mop and the Allure flooring, it cleans well and does not damage the finish.

Is it necessary to use a floor roller when installing the flooring?

I am preparing to lay the Allure flooring and read in the instructions that I should use a floor roller. Is it necessary to use a roller or would another heavy object work. I called up the Home Depot where I bought it and they don't have tool rental department.
Asked by: Buddy
No, you can either push down the seams with your hand or walk on them. Though using a floor roller may give added bonding between the two mating surfaces, it is not required.

Is this product only available full case lots, or can I buy individual planks?

Asked by: BFLO
Yes, the product is only available in full case lots. But you may want to talk with the flooring associate. Some times they have sample available, or they may have a damaged box that they can sell a single plank out of. I have been fortunate on more than one occasion to get what I needed.

I bought this to place over some old vinyl planking that was scratched and worn. I shopped around for quite a while before finally deciding on this flooring and couldn't be happier with my purchaswe. It is tough, scratch resistant, looks great, has the feel and texture of wood, but most of all it is so easy to install. Before purchasing this product I checked Youtube and watched several videos on installing this product. All the professional installers all talked about how easy it is to put down and what a great product it is. I had a lot of problems with my old flooring, installation was difficult, the finish showed every scratch and it kept pulling apart at the seams and was far more expensive than this flooring. My friends who have seen this flooring have all decided they will be using it for some projects they have planned in their own homes. For the price this product is the best purchase I have made so far on my home renovation and can not recommend it enough.

After much research of what direction I wanted to go in, I chose this flooring to put in my kitchen, utility and guest bathroom, which all are connecting rooms. I did not want to have any transitions between the 3 rooms and wanted it to flow. I installed this myself. I had old nasty sheet vinyl and laid this on top of it. I wanted a floating floor "in case" I messed up somewhere. The floor is absolutely beautiful and I couldn't be more happy. It's very easy to cut with a sharp utility knife and used tin snips for some of the cut outs. I can't wait to share the picture!! It's a little slippery at first but I think it's getting better. I cleaned with apple cider vinegar and water.

This installation went into an investment condo so for the first time I used the entry level flooring. My installer loves this product and 1,400 sq/ft just took 1.25 days once the subfloor was prepared. It looks amazing and I know like my other floors, will be long lasting. No harsh chemicals to clean...just warm water means it's GREEN. Best of all it won't scratch like wood floors and there is no ice cold tile floor to walk on.

I'm always skeptical of catchy marketing phrases like "Easiest floor ever!" But I have to say that I've looked for a way to leave a review on this flooring. I cannot believe how easily this flooring went down. You literally only need an exacto knife and maybe a pair of scissors (for those areas like moulding with a profile). I laid this floor over two other layers of flooring and you would never know. It also only took about 5 hours to complete the job . It feels good on the feet and looks great too. I couldn't be more happier.

Originally, we put the hickory color in our house and it was easy for us to put it in ourselves, it was super easy to keep clean, was very durable, felt like wood floors and didn't have any noise when you walked on it. We recently sold the house and bought our forever home. We immediately knew we would put this flooring in again but went with a lighter color since the house we bought was very dark. We have finished all the bedrooms and are waiting for our kitchen remodel to finish so we can put these floors in the new kitchen and laundry room.

The instructions say you have up to 15 minutes to reposition the planks, but I found that to be closer to 2 minutes, even without applying any weight or pressure to them. Tore several planks trying to reposition them before I decided I didn't want to ruin any more, and as a result, have a fairly weak spot right in front of my bathroom door. It was either that or tear everything out and start over. Because of the size of the room, I had a 90% overrun, well over he recommended 10%, and only have a handful of planks left. The instructions are misleading, and while I am, basically happy with the look of the floor, because I had so much trouble installing it, I'm not optimistic that it will last very long.

Within SIX months the flooring started showing a defect on the ends ( called Teepeeing). The defect only affects our "hallway area" about 10% of the total installation. Installer came back out, checked for correct install and verified defect. Inspector came out and verified defect. Traffic Master denied our claim and basically indicated that in order for us to see the inspectors written report we would have to get a lawyer. So their "warranty" is worth NOTHING.

We just finished laying the floor throughout our house, and it is beyond beautiful! Folks that came in raved over our 'wood' floors. I laughed and said, you do realize these are not wood floors, and they hand to bend down and touch it to believe me! I don't think anybody could be disappointed in this flooring. If you are looking for a flooring that has a hint of gray to it, looks distressed and will lay easily, look no further. We are very happy with it!
