Customer Questions & Answers

Could this product be installed on a ceiling?

I have a 12X24 carport attached to my home that I would like to turn into an outside entertainment are. I was hoping to use this product to dress up the ceiling of this area before installing fan's. I live in Louisiana so it is hot and Humid in my area. Thanks

I wouldn't, but hey.. Why not. I would do the flooring on a thin plywood first then install. This flooring is a floating floor and doesn't stick to the floor (just the other panels). In this case, you would be putting adhesive to the panels the using finishing nails in various places.

Can I clean this product with a steam cleaner?

Asked by: Anonymous
I would think so, since it can handle water, but it's such a cleanable surface that a steam cleaner seems unnecessary. A damp mop and floor cleaning solution should be all you'd need.

I had never attempted anything like it, and I was extremely nervous. No issues at all!

Allure 6 in. x 36 in. Teak Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring (24 sq. ft. / Case) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 215.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Shows dusty footprints & indentions My husband and nephew laid this floor in our basement, directly on top of f the concrete. PROS:They said it was easy to cut and lay. We chose the teak color to match our cabinets, which is a beautiful color. CONS:This color shows any dusty footprints from your shoes. We are constantly using a swifter to remove them. Also, the details said it was scratch & skid resistant, we have "scratch indention's" from rolling the refrigerator into the room, and we think some were made by the knee pads our nephew had on when laying it. They won't come up and are there permanently. We spent about $900 for this floor and regret our choice.

We were excited about our purchase, however by the second day we noticed a lot of scratches on the floor. The computer chair, etc. We had purchased it because we heard it was the most water resistant, which so far seems accurate, however it looks bad in several places due to scratches. So if you are looking for scratch resistant, do not purchase this product.

We have used Allure multiple times in our home and rental homes and I have installed virtually every type of floor covering during the past 30 years. Originally I was skeptical about Allure but after doing my research a several years back, I went ahead with the first installation. It is by far the easiest floor covering of all kinds to install. Just watch the u-tube videos and most importantly, make sure the sub-floor is smooth. Once you have a good smooth subfloor the rest is pretty easy. By the way, the very 1st Allure floor we installed about 7 years was on a concrete basement floor which almost immediately flooded (failed sump pump) and the floor looks as good today as when we installed it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not durable at all!! It's called trafficmaster but it gets scuff marks that don't come off from all different types of shoes. I Had this flooring installed in my kitchen, dining room and inside of my front door. Spent over $3000. I'm stuck with it now. I wish I would've went with something else. It's only been installed for 2 weeks and it already looks like it's years old. Even the installers knee pads put big scuff marks on it that don't come off.

And within 6 months, the planks are separating. They were installed as instructed. The warranty is no good. They do not stand behind the warranty. They came and looked at where it is separating and said that it was not installed on a level floor, which is bull because it was a newly built house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I read a million reviews I'm thrilled with the way my floor came out. It was the first time I or my boyfriend had done anything like this ourselves. I felt like it took longer than expected based on other reviews but I'm happy with the results. I was afraid to use this flooring based on other reviews of this color. I was originally going to get country pine due to the high rating but when I saw it in the store it looked super fake to me. So I ended up going with this one. I rotated between 8 boxes because I was afraid of duplicate prints. I would say the one down side is that occasionally a few of the planks had debris or extra sticky globs on them. I would definitely use this product again in the future
