How will this work if on basement tile floor that has a dip around a floor drain?

Asked by: dan
Thank you for your question. The floor flatness tolerance of this product is 1/4" over 10'. A floor leveler should be used when exceeding the tolerance.

Hi HarryG, the thickness of this flooring is 0.15 inches thick, This type of flooring has grip strips. It does not click or get glued down. Take a look to the right of the words product overview. You will see info & guides. Once there you will see the installation instructions. The grip strip is very strong. The flooring planks do not move once you install it.

Customer Reviews

Allure 6 in. x 36 in. Wild Cherry Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring (24 sq. ft. / Case) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy & Looks Great! We purchased 30 boxes after reading the reviews in various website. Most other chat type sites are only aware of the "in store" colors. We have 2 Danes, 2 lap dogs & 2 cats. Carpet had to go! The reasonable cost (no extra costs of glue/underlayment etc) made this a must try. We installed with no issues. TIPS use water proof double sided carpet tape on the wall edges to speed up installation and keep everything lined up. Take care when laying-roll from the top tab down the length to keep a straight tight fit . If the glue edge get dust or hair-it does not stick as it should. Goes down fast after the first two rows! As with ANY flooring type, use care when moving furniture use foot pads . Virtually WATERPROOF! We put a very thin poly underlayment as our 'older' home had questionable sub-flooring . This flooring is softer than some other types-feels better when walking on it, but does 'indent' easier. Only draw back was no stair solutions. Stair caps would improve the look a hundred fold!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Install- Just Plan Ahead! We had vinyl tiles in our entryway that was very likely put down with asbestos based glue, so we were concerned about pulling them up. After much searching, we decided that a floating floor was the best option for us. Thankfully, the Allure flooring is super easy to install (you'll need a straight edge and utility knife at a minimum) and looks great for what it is. To avoid planks coming apart, be absolutely sure that no dust/dirt/debris get on the sticky parts, otherwise it'll surely come up. If you do it right, you won't have any problems with the planks coming apart. We had a few spots where we accidentally got dust on them and they did come apart, but I used superglue to stick them back together and that did the trick. You will be cutting the edges and it doesn't always come out perfectly straight, so it's best if you remove the baseboards first, that way the flooring edge will be hidden underneath. Although the instructions say to keep it 1/4" away from the wall, because it is not real wood you actually don't need to worry about expanding/contracting as much. We placed ours at the very edge and have had zero problems after 4 months. To secure it from moisture getting underneath (we weren't worried about damage, we were worried about mold since this product is water resistent and would be impossible to dry out quickly), we used clear caulk at the baseboards. One of the issues we ran into when installing was discovering that our walls were not straight (i.e. the corners weren't at 90 degrees, so if we followed along one wall, all the planks would be slanted! Doublecheck which corner you are going to start at to ensure that your planks will be straight! Otherwise you will end up trying to angle the planks by cutting along the length....definitely NOT a good idea! The only other thing I would share is that you should definitely measure and plan ahead for how much you need to order based on your room. We ordered the recommended 10% more and ended up using EXACTLY the number of planks ordered- no extras. I was super worried I was going to accidentally cut a piece the wrong length and have to wait another week or so for a new box! It helped to draw out the layout of the planks on graph paper, but we did it after we ordered it. I recommend you do it beforehand, otherwise you might be out of luck! Count us lucky!! As for the Wild Cherry- the color came out great! It is true to the photo. The flooring is super easy to clean! So glad we had an alternative to ripping out the vinyl tiles of the 70s!! Overall, I recommend this product! We finished a 10x7 entryway installation in less than 2 hours!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Vinyl more like hardwoodlook than laminates - The look: rates 5.The color, grain, and lack of duplicate patterns seem more realistic than the laminates. Visitor have thought it is wood. - Ease of Care: rates 5. It's in the kitchen with all that occurs. Typically, just use water and microfiber mop. - Durability: rates 4.5 I've had only a month. However, I dragged the stubborn refrigerator when installing and it's blemish-free, Of course also 2 dogs including our 50# 4 month puppy. That's a test. So far, so good. - Ease of installation: rates a 2 - there were not instructions snd I did it reversing the working edge from the desired, The adhesive strip is very sticky, it can be repositioned, but difficult. It is easy to score and snap though. However, I was able to still do it alone in one full day. It's a "floating" floor, so it's actually best to leave the existing intact. There's no need for a bottom layers (as similar products require). FYI: female with some handy-person skills. In conclusion - I will use this again. I am shocked I am using vinyl flooring as I usually prefer higher-end products- but this is a new world of vinyl!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks good for the first few months, horrible after that. We have had this down for just over three years. We loved this at first, but after a few months the durabilty of this product that is promised is horrible. I have areas of the flooring that have been worn down to the black backing just from everyday traffic. It was installed in the first floor of my house. The seams are all coming apart and yes we followed instruction of installation for rolling the seams. If I can save anyone from making the same mistake we did, do not go for the inexpensive fix because in a few years its not worth it. I wish we had saved our money we paid for this flooring because now I am suffering looking at it daily to save up money to replace it. Yes there is a warranty on it however is all they cover will be to replace the planks that are defective, Yea! now I get planks that do not match the current floor because they are never the same unless they are in the same batch. Just not worth trying to replace something that will only look good for a few months. Looked for the maker Halstead New England on the internet and the do not have a website that I can find. Guess I will have to do snail mail to let them know how disappointed I am in their product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WILD CHERRY TRAFFIC MASTER VINYL PLANKS I originally planned to go with the Traffic Master Ceramica tile, and grouting in between, to put over my vinyl asbestos tiles in my basement. I felt like it would be a nicke effect, I followed all instructions, but my floor was not as flat as I thought and the tiles did not stick well. I went back to my originally choice of the floating vinyl planks, but did not like any of the "woods" either in stock or special order. Then online I saw the wild cherry and went with that. It was dellivered to my house in less than a week, and I liked the "wood." It went down quite easily once you get the hang of it. It is tough to pull apart once you press it together. Once I got it to separate I put a thin piece of metal between the two pieces to separate it the rest of the way. The best way is to get it right the first time - which usuallly happens. Always check the adhesive strips before you assemble, to make sure there is not dirt or debris stuck to them. I must say it was an easy floor to put down, I did about 350 square feet. I liked the higher end one that snapped together, but it was a bit pricey at almost $3 a square foot. I had a few corners pop, but I applied heat with a hair dryer and pressed them back together, and all have held except possibly one. It does look like it may scuff, as I have already noticed a few scuff marks. But so far, I like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great flooring solution! I used this for my DIY kitchen renovation and it came out great! I have never laid floors in my life before and I managed this one without any major problems. It's easy to assemble and looks great! The brick pattern is not that hard to achieve either. The panels snap easily. It gets tougher though when your walls are uneven or you have to cut the planks around irregular shapes, things like pipes etc, which I managed to do however it took me the most amount of time. The only con I can think of is that my hands hurt for 2 days after the whole day of putting pressure on the panels in order to cut them with the razor blade, so I guess it is advisable to have someone to help you if you are covering a big square footage unless you have particularly strong hands! Also you'll probably need more time to finish your project than you think. But again, it's the cutting that takes the most amount of time. Overall, great result but not without effort. Either way I would totally recommend this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks fine after 3 weeks We had this flooring installed in our laundry room 3 weeks ago, and are very happy with its appearance at this time. To avoid installation-related problems, we had it installed by a professional who has had good results with Allure flooring in a variety of settings. No complaints. We'll provide an updated review when we've had more experience with it.
