Looks like good hardwood and easy to install per the contractors that are laying it. It resembles my hickory hardwood floor in my old house. Hoping the review are correct and it stands up to my dogs, but I'm very happy with the appearance. Love the woodgrain look. When I do my basement, I will probably use this again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TicabooDan Great Product for any room
I have used this product in several applications. We have a water problem in our basement and had carpet prior, installed this and even if water is an issue, easy to clean up or remove and re install. Installed on our houseboat in the kitchen and bathrooms, feels great on bare feet, can drop anything on it without worrying about it chipping. Installed in a laundry room that had a water heater leak, no issues is it happens again.
Real easy to install, easy to cut with a knife of scissors, looks great, feels great on the feet, not slippery and looks like wood. If the choice is between a wood or laminate product, get this you will not be disappointed.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Evaporation Good product...Bad instructions
I installed the Allure Ultra in my kitchen and dining room. It seems like a very tough product. I expect it to last a long time. The flooring goes down quite easily. However, the instructions are not good. They indicate that the short ends can be simply pressed into place by hand. This is not possible. In order to properly seat the short ends, you must use a rubber or nylon mallet to tap the end into place. Interestingly, I ran short on material, and had to order 1 more box. On the outside of that box was a large orange sticker explaining how one must use a mallet to install the short ends. They called it an "installation tip". Oh well. I guess someone at the factory finally got around to trying the stuff!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bob My wife loves it! What more needs to be said!
Great product! Installed it in our kitchen and adjoining hallway and my wife is very pleased with it. I am not sure if the home Depot carries the tapping block for installation that is recommended but since the store is 40 miles away I made two from scrap pieces of flooring by stapling them to a block of wood. The first block worked fine for a while until it broke and then I finished up with the second block. It is an absolute must to tap the pieces together to ensure a proper fit. The floor we ordered was from a sample at the store that was not a stock item there. It was shipped to us and was packaged very well [a box within a box with styrofoam strips around the perimeter for cushioning]. There was no damage from shipping. there was one piece that had some ground in grit on one end but I was able to use the rest of it after I cropped it off.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by G34 durable/ easy to install/ easy to maintain
We purchased Allure Ultra Resilient Vinyl Plank Flooring a year ago and tried it in our den and dining room where our dog occasionally comes inside with mud (Hawaii's red dirt) on her feet . We wanted something that was easy to maintain, would not stain from the red dirt, and wouldn't be affected by spills or scratched by the dog racing around. I also work at home in the den and roll around on a chair at my desk.
We really love this flooring.
It feels good on your feet (we live in Hawaii and don't wear shoes in the house). It is not hard like tile nor does it collect dirt like carpet.
It is easy to clean (we use a dry swiffer) and then damp mop it on occasion (they sell a special cleaning product to mop the floor with- we use that; it's not expensive and lasts forever). No need to wax it (you shouldn't wax it).
It has held up really well for the year and a half that we have had it. Some furniture was dragged over it and left scuff marks that just wiped off with a dry paper towel. It still looks new.
I did cabinet making and woodworking for years and hate the fake wood flooring that looks like a printed wood pattern, or flooring where you can spot the same knot hole over and over again. This flooring looks pretty much like real wood. People who come to our home think it IS real wood.
It is also easy to install, and very forgiving on an uneven floor. Our floor had some major waves in it (so much so, that I had to scribe the bottom of one of our baseboards to get a tight fit), but this flooring (since it is vinyl) just molded to it without having to level the floor. Although I am sure there is a limit as to how much unevenness it can handle before the seams don't hold, it is much more tolerant than a hard flooring. This was a big plus for me who didn't want to mess with trying to level the floor.
It was also very easy to install. Fast. It can be laid over any solid, flat surface.
It's easy to cut - just score it with a utility knife and snap it on the scored line. (if you have done drywall, it's like cutting drywall). This means no dust or need of a power miter saw; no dust is produced when cutting.
We just purchased more to replace the carpet in our living room, hall, and a bedroom in our home.
I bought a fairly large volume of flooring and a couple of the boxes had 2/3 of the box full of the same patterned piece. I wondered if I was doing a bathroom (or any other smaller room) what I could have done to avoid that repeated pattern. As it was, I had enough variety in the other boxes to mix it up. My color was special order, but I am pretty sure Home Depot would exchange a box if you had too much of the same pattern in it - especially if it wasn't a special order item.
THINGS I LEARNED
When you snap the flooring together be sure to push the seam together really tightly. Don't just snap it together; snap it together , then push it together so there is no line (crack) at all. A friend of ours had the same flooring installed professionally and they didn't do that - it looks horrible. Make sure you can see no gap at all in the seam.
The variety of patterns on the planks is minimal so make sure you open a number of boxes and lay it out as you go so you don't have the same planks forming a pattern (diagonally, or otherwise) on the floor. That would drive me nuts. I would see it every time I walked in the room.

Beautiful flooring perfect for bathrooms & kitchens because of the rubber bottom of the floor. Semi easy to put down but their is a lot of waste to install correctly!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by mh44 good waterproof flooring
Have installed this product in two bathrooms, kitchen, and basement family room. It is not as easy to install as advertised but with practice you will get better at it. The main thing is to have a smooth floor, not really a level floor.
The floor can slope but floor should be smooth 3/16 in 10 foot. I used quite a bit of floor leveler to get my floors smooth. You can install it over tile but fill the grout lines.
As for value it is expensive at 3.00 a square foot. If it will hold up as advertised it is a good investment.

I love my new bedroom floor. It looks so much like wood but has such duribility and is waterproof, just what I need for my five cats and two dogs. When I turn my utility room into a spare bedroom, I definitely will use Allure Ultra again.
