Answer:
If you're wanting this material on stairs, you would purchase Cap-A-Treads to match. You can find them on homedepot.com and they also have 2 videos on how to install them. They also offer Cap-A-Tread Type 2, depending on your stair and installation needs. You can go into any Home Depot and speak with a flooring specialist if you have any questions.

Don't buy this product for stairs, you'll be making 100's of cuts and they will slide off of the stairs because there is no glue. I am pretty sure they sell a separate product for stairs.

Unfortunately they do not make a stair nose for these planks, however you may be able to use other stair noses and trim in order to make these planks work. If you are going to attach these to stairs, I would highly recommend either nailing or gluing these down so they don't slip around.

There are two answers to this question. If you use it on stairs the product would have to be glued and that would void the warranty only on the stair area. Zamma makes a stair bullnose that coordinates with our product, you can find it on Home Depots website.

Hello Curious and thank you for your question.
There is no stair nose available for the TrafficMaster Allure Ultra Aspen Oak Black Resilient Vinyl Plank Flooring. The manufacturer does not recommend installing the floating floor on vertical surfaces or on stair cases.
Best wishes on your project.

Answer:
The 2x2 sub floor panels have plastic on bottom that have teeth that keeps the sub floor off the existing floor, with gaps under any wall structures for air to circulate under your subfloor it has some venting of humidity (new concrete, etc.) and gives a nice even surface to lay your floating floor on. This also takes care of some unevenness surface of your existing floor.

For the most part these planks can go over uneven flooring without much preparation, as long as there is not more than a 1/8" difference in the height. As an example, I laid these over my old kitchen linoleum that had holes in many areas. Because these areas were rather shallow, I was able to lay straight over them.
However, if your floors are more uneven than that, or you are putting these down over tile, it is highly recommended to use a floor patch/leveler before hand. The Henry brand patch and leveler works well, and you can get it premixed which will cover 5 sq. feet. If you need more coverage than that, they also carry a 25# bag that covers about 40 sq. feet. If you need to patch your floor, be sure to include patching and drying time when you plan for installation. The patch can dry in about 2-3 hours, but to err on the side of caution, I would patch the night before to ensure that it is fully cured before you start putting down the new floor.

Allure Ultra 7.5 in. x 47.6 in. Aspen Oak Black Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring (19.8 sq. ft. / Case) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 119.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not that great anymore Have been adding on to an existing floor with the same exact product (so I thought), and they do not fit together. Any of the locking edges do not fit together. I cut the locking parts off so they would go in place since I had no choice, but now the older new yellow and black box( (2014-2015) do not fit together with any of the brand new ones. How many times do they have to change it? 3 so far I suppose. This has been a sloppy job either way. . Even if i did get only the 2016 planks, this is now the most difficult floor to get the joints to lock together I've done so far, and this is a small room so it should have been easy. I do a lot of floors, this used to be a good product, but now its cheap and I won't buy again.

As a contractor I am very displeased with this flooring and the way it was marketed. First the floor must be level (concrete) unless you are ok with air pockets and dips, for the floor does not mold to the subfloor. I had to rip up over half of a room in order to make this home owner happy due to the minor dips and pitches in the slab. Also Traffic master has also changed the locking system in which this floor connects with. I bought 32 boxes of flooring special order from Home Depot. After removing the floor a few pieces were damaged and I was forced to buy 2 more which I also ordered. The second 2 boxes had the different locking mechanism... so at this point the client is angry cause now a 600 sq ft floor is taking a month due to waiting for over a week to get the product in 3 different times.

You do have to pay attention to each and every edge as you attach each plank to the floor. If you don't pay attention, the flooring may not lock properly and you'll have to disassemble back to the piece that was not adequately fitted. With patience and the appropriate mallet, installation is pretty quick and the floor looks outstanding. I'd do it again (500 SF room).

I am a middle of the road DIYer and the assembly of the click and lock is pretty delicate compared to some other systems I have worked with in the past. IF everything is exact, it goes together nicely. Any variation from a minor floor irregularity to linear issues (your first track laid perfectly straight especially if you have an irregular non-rectangle room) can be a challenge to have the plank seat correctly in subsequent rows. SO, be patient, and diligent while getting started. It will help the process go so much smoother.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT buy unless your subfloor is perfectly even, and even then, probably still don't My house was built in 89 so it's not brand new, but it's not incredibly old for a house. So, of course the subfloors sag a teeny bit in the middle of the pieces. Didn't think it would be a big deal, but the locking aspect flat out does not work if the subfloor is the slightest bit uneven. And even parts that were locked together when you finished installing the floor start to come apart after walking on it for a few months. So these floors look good and seem like a good product what with them being scratch resistant and waterproof, but long-term, it's a waste of money because in a few years, you'll have more gaps between planks than you do locked together planks so you'll either have pull it up and reinstall it or pull it up and throw it in the trash where it belongs and buy better flooring.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from From eww to awesome in a day! I installed this in my living room and will be continuing through my kitchen and dining room. I have installed thick expensive laminate as well as the thin cheap stuff. I would say that the installation "feels" much like the cheaper laminate... It is easy to work with, though the "click" isn't really obvious at all- leaving me wondering if all the joints are well seated. I am a worrier though, and it is probably fine. I went with this vs laminate for the durability and water resistance. The room really transformed from eww to wow! I've posted a pic, please disregard my dog bed coffee table and walls that are yet to be painted (can't decide on a color) :)
