Very accurate pic. Actually it looks better than the pic to me. We have it throughout our house and always get compliments.

Can you use this product on stairs

Do they make a stair nose for this product line and color?
Asked by: Anonymous
If you're wanting this material on stairs, you would purchase Cap-A-Treads to match. You can find them on homedepot.com and they also have 2 videos on how to install them. They also offer Cap-A-Tread Type 2, depending on your stair and installation needs. You can go into any Home Depot and speak with a flooring specialist if you have any questions.

Can this product be installed over a laminate wood floor. My faux wood floor is outdated in looks

Asked by: Bmoney
No, I would not cover laminate with anything. Laminate is very easy to take up.

I am looking for a darker flooring that has hues of both grey and beige.

It took me 10 years to finally find a flooring that I liked for my kitchen and I love it. I also own rental and install this too. I have used several hardy floor options (online similar for less $, previous Go To rental floor was vinyl floor tile and a few ceramic) over the past 20 years and TM Allure Ultra is by far my favorite. Easy to install, DURABLE!!!, looks fantastic, floating. My only issue was my kitchen was my first time and I did goof on connecting the planks but not too bad. My mom liked it so much she installed it in her basement. The selection of patterns only has a few (distinctive faux nots) that one would need to be careful of the placement. After 3 years, looks as good as new- with 3 kids who enter the house on this floor, snow, mud, ski boots, and all. No separation or fading (only two north facing windows). Highly recommend only using interlocking planks. Make sure base floor is smooth as any small bumps with reappear.

As a contractor I am very displeased with this flooring and the way it was marketed. First the floor must be level (concrete) unless you are ok with air pockets and dips, for the floor does not mold to the subfloor. I had to rip up over half of a room in order to make this home owner happy due to the minor dips and pitches in the slab. Also Traffic master has also changed the locking system in which this floor connects with. I bought 32 boxes of flooring special order from Home Depot. After removing the floor a few pieces were damaged and I was forced to buy 2 more which I also ordered. The second 2 boxes had the different locking mechanism... so at this point the client is angry cause now a 600 sq ft floor is taking a month due to waiting for over a week to get the product in 3 different times.

Both of us had zero experience with this sort of thing, but we did it and it looks beautiful. The only reason I gave it a four star rating was that a few of the pieces were broken on the edge where they fit together. We were able to make it work, but I would have returned it if I wasn't on a tight schedule to finish. Luckily we had just enough to finish the job, even with the broken pieces.

You do have to pay attention to each and every edge as you attach each plank to the floor. If you don't pay attention, the flooring may not lock properly and you'll have to disassemble back to the piece that was not adequately fitted. With patience and the appropriate mallet, installation is pretty quick and the floor looks outstanding. I'd do it again (500 SF room).

I am a middle of the road DIYer and the assembly of the click and lock is pretty delicate compared to some other systems I have worked with in the past. IF everything is exact, it goes together nicely. Any variation from a minor floor irregularity to linear issues (your first track laid perfectly straight especially if you have an irregular non-rectangle room) can be a challenge to have the plank seat correctly in subsequent rows. SO, be patient, and diligent while getting started. It will help the process go so much smoother.

Not sure what other people are talking about when they mention pieces not being square and not clicking together. Start in a corner and get a 3x6 foot section together. Make sure it is all tight. The start is the hardest part because as you hammer on one piece everything moves. If you use a tapping bar, a block, and a mallet, every piece will lock together as they should. I spend at least 30 minutes measuring from walls and sometimes using a laser to make sure I have a good start. I think a lot of people just start slapping this stuff down without some of the tools I mentioned before and as a result have a trashy looking floor. Take your time, start well, and check every single seam as you go.

Which the description of the product it gives is way off. 1-you can absolutely NOT use a utility knife to cut it. It's a solid 1/4-1/3 inch thick and tough plastic. I mean tough (unless you have John Cena arms). I used a jigsaw whIch was not the best idea BUT my utility knife would never work. Ever. 2- it clicks together really well IF you understand that the panels need to be exactly even. I mean EXACTLY. That means if you use a wall as a starting point, you will soon understand how uneven your room is and you'll need to do some serious adjustments throughout your project. If you take anything away from this review, take this. 3-if you have an older home like I do, and it breathes, take that into consideration as your panels can move in and out. It's a beautiful product and as much as I love it, I have to rip it up after 6 months because I can't live with some of the edges I had to cut. I'd love to know what cutting utensil would be the best to make smooth and rounded edges because a razor blade, a jigsaw, a saw, and other knives are really not appropriate.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from From eww to awesome in a day! I installed this in my living room and will be continuing through my kitchen and dining room. I have installed thick expensive laminate as well as the thin cheap stuff. I would say that the installation "feels" much like the cheaper laminate... It is easy to work with, though the "click" isn't really obvious at all- leaving me wondering if all the joints are well seated. I am a worrier though, and it is probably fine. I went with this vs laminate for the durability and water resistance. The room really transformed from eww to wow! I've posted a pic, please disregard my dog bed coffee table and walls that are yet to be painted (can't decide on a color) :)
