Answer:
If you're wanting this material on stairs, you would purchase Cap-A-Treads to match. You can find them on homedepot.com and they also have 2 videos on how to install them. They also offer Cap-A-Tread Type 2, depending on your stair and installation needs. You can go into any Home Depot and speak with a flooring specialist if you have any questions.

Don't buy this product for stairs, you'll be making 100's of cuts and they will slide off of the stairs because there is no glue. I am pretty sure they sell a separate product for stairs.

Unfortunately they do not make a stair nose for these planks, however you may be able to use other stair noses and trim in order to make these planks work. If you are going to attach these to stairs, I would highly recommend either nailing or gluing these down so they don't slip around.

There are two answers to this question. If you use it on stairs the product would have to be glued and that would void the warranty only on the stair area. Zamma makes a stair bullnose that coordinates with our product, you can find it on Home Depots website.

Hello Curious and thank you for your question.
There is no stair nose available for the TrafficMaster Allure Ultra Aspen Oak Black Resilient Vinyl Plank Flooring. The manufacturer does not recommend installing the floating floor on vertical surfaces or on stair cases.
Best wishes on your project.

Answer:
The 2x2 sub floor panels have plastic on bottom that have teeth that keeps the sub floor off the existing floor, with gaps under any wall structures for air to circulate under your subfloor it has some venting of humidity (new concrete, etc.) and gives a nice even surface to lay your floating floor on. This also takes care of some unevenness surface of your existing floor.

For the most part these planks can go over uneven flooring without much preparation, as long as there is not more than a 1/8" difference in the height. As an example, I laid these over my old kitchen linoleum that had holes in many areas. Because these areas were rather shallow, I was able to lay straight over them.
However, if your floors are more uneven than that, or you are putting these down over tile, it is highly recommended to use a floor patch/leveler before hand. The Henry brand patch and leveler works well, and you can get it premixed which will cover 5 sq. feet. If you need more coverage than that, they also carry a 25# bag that covers about 40 sq. feet. If you need to patch your floor, be sure to include patching and drying time when you plan for installation. The patch can dry in about 2-3 hours, but to err on the side of caution, I would patch the night before to ensure that it is fully cured before you start putting down the new floor.

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 102 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not that great anymore Have been adding on to an existing floor with the same exact product (so I thought), and they do not fit together. Any of the locking edges do not fit together. I cut the locking parts off so they would go in place since I had no choice, but now the older new yellow and black box( (2014-2015) do not fit together with any of the brand new ones. How many times do they have to change it? 3 so far I suppose. This has been a sloppy job either way. . Even if i did get only the 2016 planks, this is now the most difficult floor to get the joints to lock together I've done so far, and this is a small room so it should have been easy. I do a lot of floors, this used to be a good product, but now its cheap and I won't buy again. July 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to work with, can cut it with a razor knife. Looks great in my bathroom. October 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fine product. This is the second Trafficmaster floor we have installed. Only issue is it's never as easy to install as the limited instructions make it sound. October 27, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DO NOT buy unless your subfloor is perfectly even, and even then, probably still don't My house was built in 89 so it's not brand new, but it's not incredibly old for a house. So, of course the subfloors sag a teeny bit in the middle of the pieces. Didn't think it would be a big deal, but the locking aspect flat out does not work if the subfloor is the slightest bit uneven. And even parts that were locked together when you finished installing the floor start to come apart after walking on it for a few months. So these floors look good and seem like a good product what with them being scratch resistant and waterproof, but long-term, it's a waste of money because in a few years, you'll have more gaps between planks than you do locked together planks so you'll either have pull it up and reinstall it or pull it up and throw it in the trash where it belongs and buy better flooring. October 11, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not as Easy as It Looks I was drawn to this product because of its waterproof quality and that no under-layment of any kind was needed. The floor was presented as easily snapping together with no tools needed, but I found that was not the case. I am not a novice to laminate flooring. I have put tongue and groove laminate plank flooring in most of my house. After quite a bit of fruitless wrestling with the planks while trying to follow the instructions, I decided to use a small scrap piece as tapping block with my hammer to join the pieces together. This worked well (mostly). I had ordered 9 cases which had to be delivered to the store for pickup. When I got to the fourth case, there was a yellow paper with updated instructions included. It recommended using a tapping block to join the planks. It would have been less frustrating if that paper was included in every box since you don't know which box you are going to open first. I would use it again, but knowing that it is not as easy as it is presented. October 4, 2016

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Misled (for porch) Website led us to believe this was good for a covered porch. Product came and box stated it was waterproof but not temperature proof. Was told by the manufacturer (# on box) to not use it for that purpose. She also stated that she has gotten that same call several times before. August 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by do NOT buy the new style the old style click and lock was great-the new style drop and lock is garbage-the edges stick up ,does not go together good-everyone will return the new style and say its bad-i would not buy the new style you will be very dissapointed!!!!
