Answer:
Yes, you need a layer of thick plastic sheeting first, then a layer of aquabar underlayment paper on top of that. Use thin shipping tape to stick the stuff down.

Answer:
Thanks for comments but that wasn't my question. CAN it be installed over underlayment? There is a manufacture of another vinyl plank flooring that has just come out with its own underlayment to help make it more soft under foot. Also since I would be installing on a slab that is in a wet environment (sandy soil that perks), I want an added layer of protection from moisture traveling through the slab.

Answer:
It doesn't need underlayment. It can go directly on a slab but the slab must be level, no big dips.

Answer:
No underlayment is required for this vinyl floor, due to the fact that it acts as its own underlayment.
All you really need to do is to prepare the slab subfloor by cleaning it, sealing it, and making sure it is level.
We carry various sealers for concrete in our flooring and paint departments at your local Home Depot store.

Yes, if you plan to install all planks in the same direction throughout the whole area and if you like a little challenge. Doorways are tricky, the rest is easy. We installed it in the kitchen, adjoining laundry room and a closet and it worked well, but we only had one doorway, so it was easier than in your case. It requires careful measuring and planning before you start, though. You need to decide the layout that would work the best for you and the starting point, so you don't end up with pieces that are too short or too narrow. You also need to plan ahead, so you know exactly how each plank will lay around each doorway because you need to be able to lock them in position. Read Less

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great My son and I (I’m 78 yrs old) put the flooring down in a 60 sq ft bathroom. The product is absolutely beautiful but because it is 5mm thick, you cannot just score it with a knife and snap it. After talking with staff at HomeDepot and considerable research, we ended up cutting it with my electric Skil laminate flooring saw. Because the floor behind the toilet area was ever so slightly warped and space to maneuver was cramped (to say the least), we had a problem attaching the planks to each other in that area. The underfloor really needs to be level!! We plan to install the planking in another 23 sq ft bathroom. Love the product July 13, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product, highly recommended I've never installed flooring before, but after reading the directions and getting organized, I started and found it was very easy. I finished our new bathroom addition in less than a day. Buy the tapping block, get a carpenters square, a box cutter and the vapor barrier. This is so easy, I'm going to use it in another home project we're working on. The floor looks great. Since this is a vinyl product I was concerned about the "vinyl" smell and the chemicals some products outgas, but this is a green product and there NO SMELL and NO CHEMICAL OUTGASSING to worry about. Perfect. May 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by love this floor we love our floor we will be doing our other bathroom soon June 7, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Does Not Lock solid Tried to use this and could not get the rows to stay together and the i have done several floors in the past with no issue. the material is dense and thin and says it is waterproof but spent 2 hours trying to make it work and ended up taking it all back. even when i could get it to lock there were sometime still small gaps. if they fix the the lock i would use it because waterproof is very useful in many parts of the home. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by just what we wanted I wouldn't say it was necessarily "easy" to install, but I got the hang of it after a while. There's not really a "click" when it snaps together - more like an soft vibration. This floor fooled my sister into thinking it was real wood. The texture is great. It doesn't have the plasticky sound of laminate when you walk on it - it just has a soft thud/tap sound. I didn't level out my subfloor quite enough, but this floor went over it great anyway. We've had it for 8 months and it's in a high traffic room and it's held up perfectly. Looks good-as-new. It is just the beautiful modern/natural look I was hoping for. We're very pleased. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AWESOME flooring, especially with pets! I have installed this in both my home and beach house. I LOVE it! We have 2 dogs who sometimes have accidents in the house this cleans up like a charm! No worry about warping from the liquid. It's 100% waterproof. And so nice to walk on - not cold like tile. It's a not hot or cold to walk on, just neutral temp. It looks beautiful, too, just like wood. I love this light color of finish and it doesn't show dirt or dog hair, either. I highly recommend it. It's a little pricey, but worth it if you have pets. March 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Surprised at how much it looks and feels like a wood floor My husband installed this floor over plywood in our Master Bathroom. He's pretty handy and had no problem cutting pieces (of course he has every tool made!) and snapping the planks together. The instructions that came with the floor are right on and it's really important to plan out the floor first before you do anything. It's a great solution when you prefer not to install tile and real wood is not the best material for someplace with possible water puddling. One more thing, this floor has a matte finish - more like sanded wood. October 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very high quality I installed over1000 square feet of Allure Ultra Aspen Oak White in my house. All planks have consistenly good quality. They are beautiful and look like real hardwood planks February 19, 2016
