Answer:
The boxes each contain 19.8 sq ft but you'll want some extra to account for waste/mistakes. I'd go with 11 boxes.

Answer:
10 boxes will get you the 196 feet you need. The product had very little waste. The only waste I experienced was last row where I had to rip two inches from the width for the length of the row. If you feel you will have more waste due to cabinets/fixtures/walls, then get an extra box.

What is the Insulation R Value of this product and can I utilize underlayment with this product?

I am interested in installing this product in my basement which is currently bare concrete. Moisture tests have been performed and not an issue. I am afraid this product directly over concrete in Pennsylvania will leave a very cold floor year round and not pleasant to walk on. My idea is to utilize underlayment 2mm or 3mm to create a gap from the concrete and install the Allure Ultra floating flooring on top to possibly make it warmer. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you for your question. This flooring is designed to be warm underfoot. If moisture is not an issue, no underlayment should be used.

Can we purchase planks separately?

We're renovating our bathroom and purchased three cases, but found we literally only need 1 (or 2) planks in order to finish the flooring installation. Is it possible to purchase these separately? Or do we need to buy an entire case? If we do have to purchase an additional case, can we return any untouched planks to get credited for amount not used? (I know they do this at The Tile Center). Thanks!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by ugh hire a professional this does NOT cut and snap easy nor is it easy to install May 17, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor interlock and scratched easily For some reason the interlocking of the planks was very poor May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome flooring! Awesome price! Not easiest of install. This flooring looks amazing and has the quality of name brand flooring. The price is less than half of what you would pay at a floor retailer. I tried all samples of various big name brands; the more you pay, the better wear layer and look you get. Allure Ultra gave me the look, feel and awesome wear layer (130 lb dog running around and kids) of all the major brands. As easy as any floating vinyl plank to install as all their locking mechanism look the same. Cutting with a utility knife was not all that easy as these planks are made thick and the wear layer is equally made not to be cut or scratched. Covered 1250 sq of basement including closet, bathroom and guest room. August 6, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Durban Oak Vinyl Flooring We installed in a guest bath and love how it looks and feels. Would give it a 5 star if we weren't still waiting for the matching trim piece needed for the carpet to floor transition, but will update when it comes in. Can't recommend yet for that reason alone, but raises to a 5 star the minute we get the trim piece. Home Depot has been really good at responding to my inquiries in a speedy and friendly manner. Installation video was a great help and definitely recommend watching before starting. Few tools and no messy cleanup...love that! August 26, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it. Was installed in two areas. I had planned on having installed in three areas but my kitchen floor was so uneven that it wasn't working there. So had to change plans and buy the thinner version. But I love the two areas that it worked well in and would recommend it. I haven't cleaned it yet and I was not home when it was installed so can't comment on that. February 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great looking update We put this in our laundry room and it looks fantastic! A hint of gray and very nice looking. People think it's real wood but it's more durable and easy clean. February 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Most difficult DIY job ever I've been doing DIY jobs for over 30 years, and this was the most difficult one ever. Tried to install in Allure TrafficMaster in a fairly large (19'x13') basement room. The tiles just will not remain locked together. After installing the first one or two tiles in a row, locking in the third will cause the first two to separate. Going back to relock the first couple, and the third one decouples. Very frustrating. I'm three days and 75% done and the tiles no longer fit. I've got a thousand dollars of materials in my basement and cannot finish the project. If you intend to use this product, some words of advice: -Stick to a small room. The larger the room, the more the tiles eventually become misaligned, making them more and more difficult to interlock. -Beware of installing over concrete. The instructions say the floor must be within 3/16" in 10', and it it may need to be flatter than that. A slight hump in the floor and the tiles will not interlock. -Make sure the first couple rows are PERFECTLY straight. The vinyl is not very rigid, so it's easy to have a slight bow in the first row, which will make it nearly impossible to click together the tiles eventually. Snap a chalk line on the floor about 8" from the wall, and install the tiles to the chalk line. To keep the tiles from moving, shim the tiles along the baseboard in several locations, using pairs of cedar shims to get the correct shim thickness. If you buy, hope you have better luck than me.
