How do you install the traffic master allure ultra flooring

Asked by: Anonymous
Felix by now you probably already know One thing depends on the type of floor you are putting it over. The floor needs to be solid and if on concrete you need to seal the concrete ,if you have a bad wood floor it needs to be repaired so it is solid You can start in one corner of the room and lay one piece down andrun the length of the room making sure it is straight. When you start the second row I suggest you cut a foot off and run it all the way up on the third row I would cut two foot off and run it all the way up .then start back with a full piece and run all the way then next row cut again then next row cut and then next row will be full again What you want to do is stagger the ends so that they are not in line.Youc an cut the pieces any length you want just I suggest keep them the same .You can cut them smaller if you like and just have more lines in the floor

Allure Ultra 7.5 in. x 47.6 in. Fairfield Oak Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring (19.8 sq. ft. / Case) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really great, for our application We were re-doing our laundry room, where there's furnace, water heater, and washer & dryer. Linoleum floor was original, dating to mid-1960s. We needed a water-proof material, and something easy to install. This was available briefly in our local HD store, where we saw it. When we went to buy it, the store no longer carried it, and we had to purchase on-line. That took several days to "process," then 4-5 more days to ship cross-country to CA. The product arrived and was indeed just right, and pretty easy to install. Had one box left over, and was able to return it to the local store for full refund. Used 4" wood baseboard trim, and it went well with the flooring.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Basement Flooring Product for Beginners I'm about to buy more of this product so decided to write a review. We just installed it in our workout room in the basement that we are refinishing. We had also installed it in the basement bathroom. I did the workout room, my husband did the bathroom. He grumbled about me getting this flooring to do the entire basement because he had trouble getting seams tight and holding. I did not. There's a knack to getting and keeping the seams tight which has to do with the laid plank being up enough at the lip and the new plank being angled enough to be able to grip. I also used a soft rubber mallet to tap them until any gaps were gone. As a woman who usually isn't as good at this stuff as the hubby, I was amazed at how easy it was to put this together (and so was he). All I did was watch a couple youtube videos to see how other people did it and after a few tries, it became very easy once I understood how it clicked together. The looks - In bright LED lighting, you can see the very detailed grainwork of this vinyl flooring, so much so that it looks real. They went to alot of trouble to get that subtle grain. In softer or dimmer lighting, it can look less realistic but still looks good. I wish they would design some planks to be more plain looking as it seems each plank has a knot or swirl and when laying real wood flooring, that usually isn't the case. I also wish they would put more of a shiny finish on the planks since most real wood floors are shinier. Durability - while dragging a very large weight set and treadmill accross a small area of the floor, the surface color held but there was a bit more shininess to the floor where we had dragged. It isn't noticeable unless you inspect closely. Overall, happy with a product that will go with the 'waves' of our uneven concrete basement floor while looking clean, and low maintenance. I would (and have) recommended this to friends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great solution for a basement bathroom We installed this flooring in our little bathroom in our family room and It looks great. Like anything you work with for the first time you have to learn and gain a skill level in working with the product. It was easy to work with and I can't get over how nice it looks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't be happier My brother is a contractor, but I have never installed flooring, We were able to install this in an entire house and it looks amazing. My brother's talent is partially responsible, but also, the product itself installs easily, cuts easily, fits together perfectly, etc. We were all impressed and I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to install a new floor. I was amazed that piece after piece came out of the box in perfect form. It's intricately made yet totally reliable. If you want to bullet proof your floor, this is the way to go.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Commercial use This floor was used in a commercial setting and looks great! Many people think it is real wood and the maintenance is minimal. As well, it has withstood substantial traffic and still presents a clean appearance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from final product looks great! I give it 4 1/2 stars. I had trouble getting the hang of installing,; after that it went well and was pretty easy. It would have been nice if I had some better 'tips' on laying it! for example, when I cut some small pieces to use as tampers to hammer the planks together it did the trick. eg; using a 'small' side piece to tamp the 'long' side in, and vice-versa. cutting was easy, we're happy with the end result! I laid it over linoleum-like flooring, no problems there. Also, tucking the first corner in was tricky, if you could not put the interlocks all way to the corners, it would make it MUCH easier to install!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable - Beautiful - Easy to Work With After seeing how well resilient plank flooring looked and held up to traffic in a local Walmart, I decided to check it out. I got samples from several different companies and multiple styles from each supplier. I lined them all up and drug a knife across them to see how easily each sample scratched. The Allure Ultra Fairfield Oak showed the least scratch of any of them, so that's what we decided to go with. We placed about 1000 square feet of the flooring in two bedrooms, a dining room, the kitchen, and the laundry room, doing the work in our "spare" time. We started about 3 years ago and laid the last plank this past weekend, The most recently placed section butted up against the first section we did. I was impressed how well the flooring held up. Not a whole lot of difference between the 3 year section and the new section, In fact the older section looked a little more like real wood than the new section. We live in an area with a lot of mud and snow and have four big dogs going in and out all day, so the flooring got a pretty good test. I would recommend this flooring. I'll pass along a few things I learned in the process. The flooring is easy to work with. I had only installed carpet and ceramic tile prior to using Allure Ultra. It is certainly easier to install than either of those. Make sure the floor is as flat as you can make it before laying the flooring - use a floor skim coat if the surface has humps and holes. Make sure old nails and staples are not protruding - take a flat point shovel and scraping the surface to make sure they don't protrude. It helps to make joints tight by lightly tapping on a scrap piece of flooring locked into the piece you are laying. If a gap does appear after a while - don't sweat it. Armstrong make an acrylic filler (Number 12) that matches well with the Fairfield Oak and seems to work well.
