The first two rows seemed to have come into place - with difficulty. Now we're finding it still difficult to lock them into place without tiny gaps - don't want to continue so as the whole floor will be skewed. thanks.

Answer:
Genevian,
Without knowing all of the variables, I think the problem is probably due to a "squareness" issue. I noticed this happening to a small degree on our flooring as we laid it, but we corrected the first couple of rows and the issue went away. Maybe try measuring from each end of your new flooring to a equal distance away (such as the opposite wall from your flooring) to see if you are square.

Maybe try measuring from each end of your new flooring to a equal distance away (such as the opposite wall from your flooring) to see if you are square. Also, you can use double-sided carpet tape to keep the first row in line if you are struggling with that. Those are my recommendations...without knowing all of the variables.

Answer:
This can happen if you do not tap the them together with a mallet to assure they are locked. Cut yourself a small piece of the tile that has the interlock to the piece you want to tap. Inter-Lock it in to the tile you want to tap and then tap it a few times until the gap is closed. You may have to lift the tile your taping upward a little when you do this.

Answer:
Make sure there is no little pieces where they fit together. When putting down the new piece place it in the groove while the end you are holding is up in the air, then lower the end and it should click into place.

Alangski,
When we laid our flooring we just went up to the cabinets and then found a matching quarter-round trim and tacked that into place at the cabinet base. It works well.

No. Just up to and put molding around unless you can cut it perfectly straight. Also needs room to expand.

I would recommend just installing to the cabinets and not under. This product needs to be free floating and the cabinets could restrict it

It does not always stay snapped together... You have to be very precise and even then it may still come apart some in occasional places. At least in our experience...

The Plus does have a little larger grip strip but the produc is an inch shorter so we added to the strip. There is no need for anything extra to keep either product down.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Allure Ultra Vintage Oak Cinnamon Vinyl Plank Flooring. We do not recommend using a steam cleaner on this flooring, as it will cause permanent damage to your floor and void the warranty. Please see the "Care and Maintenance" section of the Installation Guide for more details: http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/c7/c750371b-45fe-4af2-8c08-6ecec726da38.pdf

Hot steam shouldn't hurt this at all. We use a steam mop and haven't seen any problem. The waterproofness of the flooring makes it better for steam than wood.

I wouldn't reccommend using high heat to disinfect the flooring. You could have a negative effect to the finish. I use the swiffer wet jet and it does fine.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely beautiful flooring! This flooring looks like a real hardwood floor but is so much easier to clean and care for. We put this throughout our entire living area and kitchen as well as the master bedroom and could not be happier with it. Just wish we had the funds to do the entire house with this!! I would highly recommend this flooring to anyone wanted a product that is absolutely beautiful and easily cared for. July 23, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 1,600 sq ft of Product Failure After 1 year and 6 months and installed by experienced contractor, this flooring (1,600 sq ft) is coming apart and looks terrible. Initial installation looked good but we have watched it fall apart. We even put window tinting to control sunlight (heat) to the floor. Based on the number of negative comments, this product should be pulled. It may be that the positive comments reflect only a small installation. We have begun the process of trying to get a refund with the Manufacturer, since Home Depot will only honor a 90 day warranty. We wrote our local Home Depot manager hoping for assistance (Debbie - store 1284 in Monroe NY) February 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great quality beautiful floor low price We have had it for 3 years now in our kitchen. It gets alot of traffic, 2 dogs nails against it and shows no sign of any wear. I used bleach and all kinds cleaners on it. July 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great flooring for rental properties We have replaced the flooring in our rental property 4 times. We used laminate flooring before, but this stuff holds up much better than laminate and it's water proof. Great feature. July 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Ok product, TERRIBLE WARRANTY Am a contractor and bought this product based on warranty. A number of pieces shrunk which is evident by the pictures. Tried to submit a warranty claim and finally gave up. The warranty process is so difficult Home Depot does not want you to attempt it. Will not buy this product again. Its a shame but as a contractor I will not allow my clients to deal with such a hassle. And for the support staff- the product was installed correctly. Have installed tens of thousands of sq/ft of this product. Your new warranty process is a disaster. Outsourcing was not a good idea. October 20, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Over rated as described. The click lock design is not all it cracked up to be. If the planks were exactly perfect maybe, nothing is exactly perfect, regardless if it was, it might work better, The click lock system isn't as well designed as it claims, you have 1/16th of an inch with no variance, it is nothing more than than a pliable rubber that you are trying to lock. It's easy to put three pieces together in an example. When you are installing it you are literally trying with each piece, to tie four different pieces together. The tile doesn't allow for any variance within it's own design. The top and bottom of the tile seems well designed, but they need to re-look at the click lock and make it a better design. Personally I would never use it again. May 10, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Started great - finished bad! My project started out great however started going bad quickly. The joints on the long side of the board started separating just slightly leaving small white visible lines when viewed from the side. I removed 6 rows of planks and started over. After 3/4 of the project was complete, these gaps in the board were random all over the floor. I spent a lot of time prepping the floor and paying attention to my line and detail. My saw was cutting a proper 90 degree angle. I am completely unsattisfied with this product and will not use it again. The room for error on the long side snap joints is too small for the home do-it-yourself project person. April 12, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Scratches Easily is an UNDERSTATEMENT I purchased and installed 5 boxes of this product in a Class A RV. What a mistake. its been in now for less than six months and how easily it scratches is unbelievable. Going to seek a refund from Home Depot or the manufacturer. June 20, 2016
