Answer:
There are a variety of trim pieces which match the Allure floors. Your Home Depot measuring service will specify the correct pieces to transition nicely from the vinyl plank flooring to carpet or other doorway thresholds. Here is an example:

Answer:
Thank you for your question. The floor flatness tolerance of this flooring is 3/16" over 10'. A floor leveler should be used when exceeding tolerance.

I seem to be getting conflicting messages on this topic from these questions and answers. I want to do my kitchen floor, but if I have to find something else to put under the appliances then the whole thing seems pointless.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Allure Ultra Vintage Oak Gray Resilient Vinyl Plank Flooring. You should not install this flooring under appliances. You should leave 1/8" of space between the appliances and the floor so it has room to expand and contract. For further questions, please call our customer service line at 866-843-8453.

I am considering flooring options. My bedroom floor is painted concrete with what appears to be a satin finish. If I can install over this surface (which appears to be in good condition) what I need to prep. I know I need to clean it VERY well to begin with (please recommend product and/or procedure?). I appreciate any feedback! My wife wants this DONE, if you know what I mean! The planks look like a single adhesive strip runs the length of each plank down one side. Does the adhesive stick to the floor?

Thank you for your question. You should make sure the floor is within floor flatness tolerance (1/4” over 10’) and fill any voids or remove any bumps over 1/8”. You should thoroughly vacuum the floor to clean it. You should also check for moisture. You can do this at home. Take 2’ x 2’ clear plastic sheet and place directly over concrete and tape the 4 edges down completely with duct tape. Wait 72 hours to see if any condensation builds up. If you get any kind of dark spot on the concrete, change in color of painted surface or paint starting to crack/chip or clear signs of condensation on the plastic sheet you need to address a moisture issue. Consult a basement/concrete proofing expert. If you don’t remedy moisture and cover the concrete with hard surface flooring it can create mold and mildew under our floor. This particular product (Allure Ultra Vintage Oak Gray) is a click-lock product so there is no adhesive edge. Our Allure Ultra (click-lock) line of products performs better over concrete than our GripStrip adhesive line of products. Read Less

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 46 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Allure Flooring It was confusing at first on the website when we ordered. Said this particular color was obsolete, then when we ordered it, new and improved. May be "improved" in the manufacturer eyes, but it is more difficult to put down than the old style. The old style (which we have installed ourselves before) had arrows printed on the back of each plank so you cannot mistake the direction to go in, not on the new style, also the drop and lock is more difficult. Ended up using a friend's special tools for laminate flooring to get it installed right. Once down, it is a beautiful flooring and I certainly hope it lasts as advertised. July 19, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by First time with vynal planks My first time working with vynal planks. The "ultra" product is much heavier and thicker than other "Traffic Master" products. It does not "score and snap" like other vynal products. It installs much like laminate. I ended up using a chop saw, table saw and jig saw to cut the product. It took a lot of effort to get nice tight joints Looks great once you get it installed. In the nine boxes I purchased I found 2 flawed planks. Some type of debris had caused deep impressions during the mold/press process. July 18, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice product This flooring is fairly easy to install. It does not cut and break as easy as one might think. You have to be a bit aggressive with it. Also, I would not recommend this for small floor areas. I had about 20 sf to install and because it is a floating surface it has a tendency to move because there is not much of it to grip the subfloor. June 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by One of our better purchases The planks did not break after scoring with sharp blade. Used my table saw with a 60t blade. Got a clean sharp cut. Looks like a new kitchen now. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Super easy to install! Very easy to install for the price and looks great! June 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing product! Beautiful new durable floor! Just installed, and absolutely beautiful! Bought this for a rental in a beach community. The color/pattern is so peaceful and very forgiving - it won't be showing any scratches or dings for a long while! Installed quickly and very well by Jack the installer from JW Floors Watsonville (Home Depot's Installers). Very little floor prep needed, good choice of trim pieces to finish the job well. Completely satisfied - certainly beat my expectations! With the lifetime residential warranty (25 years for commercial), I doubt I will ever install another floor. It is perfect. October 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not as easy as it looks Difficult to install, mostly because the locking tongues appear to be to short. Because of this the sections separate very easily during installation, particularly when there is even the slightest unevenness in the foundation. I installed mine over a basement floor that was previously carpeted and damaged when our basement flooded. I laid it directly over the the concrete floor with only a vapor barrier in between as recommended (not in the instructions) I had to prowl the internet for that information. May 10, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good looking, need attention to detail in installation Biggest issue was that when received, some of the pieces had damage to the tongue parts of the planks (particularly the corners). The installation of snapping them in place was a bit more challenging than expected to get the seamless appearance. The end result looks great and should last a long time. May 10, 2016
