Answer:
It can be installed on any solid and perfectly flat surface without issue. If the ceramic is butted together with no or very small grout joint, then you should be fine. It's pretty dense material. If your ceramic is slightly wavy or if there are pieces that are not even with the surrounding pieces, then I would not install this over it.

Yes, it can be installed over ceramic tile. As a precaution, I used Henry's Premixed Patch n' Level to fill in the 1/4" wide grout joints around my kitchen table and chairs. As for the rest of my house, I laid right over the tile.

Answer:
Hello,
Yes, you can absolutely install Allure Ultra over ceramic flooring, as long as the floor is clean, level, and secured to the subfloor.
Be sure any grout lines that are deep are flush, so no telegraphing occurs on the planks that can come through.

From what I know of the product, it cannot be used on stairs. it's a floating floor product so that means it can't be bound down on the edges. They do not make a stair nose to match this. I asked all the same questions when looking into this.

Answer:
It depends. If I was going to use it on stairs, I would consider a spray adhesive. In addition, I would use matching 1/4 round molding where the plank terminates against the riser and along the sides( aka "stringer"). As for the nose of the tread, I would use a matching reducer molding. Keep in mind that Home Depot sells Vinyl Plank Stairs Treads.

I love the look of this and have enjoyed the ease of installing laminate wood before. I would like to put this in my kitchen, eating area, and entry rather than the expense and hassle of refinishing my hardwoods. I want to install it on top of the existing hardwoods, but am very nervous about a laminate in the kitchen. Especially for moisture issues. Anyone used this in a kitchen?

Thank you for your question. This flooring is vinyl, not laminate and is 100% waterproof. It is perfect for use in high-moisture areas, like kitchens.

This is vinyl that's why I got it. Water resistant. There is no glue involved they click together. It's in my dining room now and I'm going to put it in my bathroom next. It's vinyl so it's bendy. Go look at the samples at the store.

This is a perfect choice for a large kitchen. I installed this in my kitchen, breakfast nook, hallway, entryway, and family room. First, this is NOT a laminate product. It's a very heavy duty vinyl product with many layers. it is 100% water proof. The wood coloring is beneath a clear wear layer on the top. It comes with a lifetime residential wear warranty. I have a large dog and she has not made the first scratch or mark on the flooring. It cleans very easily and looks and feels like real wood. People who visit cannot tell the difference. I replace an old engineered wood floor with this stuff and couldn't be happier. As long as your hardwood is not warped you could probably install this over it. However, you need to keep in mind that this is 3/16" thick. You may have a problem opening doors and you will have a problem with the wood casing around doors and baseboards if you install it over the hardwood. If I were you I would remove the hardwood and add a sub floor beneath this and you may end up the same thickness as your hardwood so you won't have the thickness issues. I am moving soon and will be installing this in my next home. Read Less

Can these planks be installed over 9x9 vinyl tiles that contain asbestos?

We have a large area in a church basement approximately 3850 square feet. The original vinyl tiles contain asbestos. The tiles on top of those do not. There was a flood and the tiles started to pop up. We need an entirely new floor. We wanted to put down ceramic tiles but was told that could not be done. So I am wondering if these planks could be used?

I see no issue with installing over the old tiles. As long as the tiles are not loose. This creates a sealed barrier to what is beneath. 100% water proof.

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 32 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect product for our bathroom makeover Although this is vinyl plank flooring, it really looks better than a lot of laminate flooring. It was easy to install and reasonably priced compared to other waterproof flooring. No glue, tacks or underlay needed! We installed it in our master bathroom and it really looks awesome. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Greatest floor ever Just had this installed throughout our entire house, and it looks great. We have an old house with uneven floors. The vinyl plank is flexible enough that we didn't need any transitions between rooms and did I mention it looks great? At just under $3 a square foot, water proof and lifetime warranty, I am very happy with this floor. It tried to scratch it, it took a sharp metal edge to do any damage and you couldn't even tell there was a scratch when you were more than a foot away from it. December 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love the easiness of it I took on this project myself. Only because it was super easy to cut with an xacto knife. No big extra power tools. I also got it because it was water proof as I have dogs and will always plan to have dogs. And I am not handy at all! I'm going to fo my bathroom next. Pic included. October 16, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by looks great! The ease of putting together is a little harder than expected ! Sometimes after putting together the pieces would come apart as you moved to install other planks. I think they could make the fit a lot easier than they were. The looks is super and as I have read in other reviews I think they do scratch easy. Time will tell if the product stands up to its advertised quality's ! May 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy Installation! Was a bit nervous about the ease of installation after reading many forums online. HOWEVER, installation was a piece of cake. Follow the directions in the box. Can't get much easier! Installed the first 300 SF with help (70+ year old father), and the remaining 425 SF myself. Took about 12 hours in total to install 750 SF. Only rated 4 stars since I can't say how well it will last over the coming years. BE CAREFUL as it does scratch more easily than I would have thought - use felt furniture pads for furniture legs immediately. Rubbed a bit of dark walnut stain onto scratches and they were gone like magic. August 5, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great looking floor I laid 650 sq. ft. of this flooring myself over my existing tile floor. The floor looks great and appears to be durable (time will tell). As for installation, the score and snap method of cutting the planks is not the best method in my opinion. I tried it and found it to be difficult and time consuming. I used a jigsaw to make all of my cuts and there were many. The floor locks together just fine as long as you take your time. I plunge cut all of my door jams and casing so that the planks would slide under the jams and casing. A few areas around the doors were a little difficult. A little trick is to place a small amount of soap on one edge of one plank so that the plank will slide. Take your time installing this floor and you will be pleased with the outcome. October 26, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Flooring For most part it's great. One spot having issue staying locked in place. Other than that looks great and happy April 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome product! After the first few rows of flooring, installation got very easy. Scores with a standard utility knife and snaps when you bend it. A single blade will cut about 6 pieces. To check that each piece is installed properly, run your finger nail along the seam. If it catches anywhere, then it's not locked in all the way. Fix before you move on or you will be pulling it all up to fix one seam. Once it's installed, you can't knock the seam together with a rubber mallet, shoes, anything. Ask me how I know. Each piece must be right or the rest of the pieces after will be wrong and you'll be pulling it up to fix. It looked so good in my family room, I decided to go back and buy enough to replace all the cheap old hardwood the builder installed 25 years ago. November 4, 2014
