will putting kitchen cabinets on trafficmaster 7mm laminate floor cause a problem ,as it's a floating floor?

kitchen installer said iwon't have a floating floor if put base cabinets on it,thats why wondering if it will cause floor problems.
Asked by: Anonymous
Hi DiyRon, Thank you for your question. I did check with the manufacturer on your question and below is their response to you: Putting cabinets on our floating floors will inhibit the ability of the flooring to expand or contract under the cabinets. Install the flooring up to the cabinets, not under them. Hope this information helps!

Is is better to purchase 8mm laminated flooring than 7mm..Why?

I want my flooring to look good and not scratch or crack so easily, I see that people talk about the scratching of the floor.. is it just this type of flooring 7mm or all of it scratches easily...how do you prevent this if possible?
Asked by: THALL
All hard surface flooring can be scratched regardless of thickness. One should take the necessary steps to prevent scratching as much as possible. Thickness may factor in for cracking of the planks if something externally heavy was dropped on the floor; however, although it may not crack the plank would most likely be damaged regardless. It is important when installing a floating flooring like laminate that your subfloor be as even as possible. Level any low spots so that your flooring will not span or “give” in these areas By leveling your subfloor, using a quality underlayment, and caring for you floor properly, this product should serve well in a residential application. Check out the Use and Care Guide available in “Product Overview.”

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value One must realize the need for a quality underpayment if you by a thinner laminent like this product. No other product in this price range has the rich quality look when installed. I recommend that you spend the difference on a high quality felt underpayment if you choose this flooring you will be really happy with the floor if you do.
