Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy Install Got a great deal on this product and thought it was worth a try. Not a big fan of laminate but I think the underlayment can make all the difference. This was put on a basement concrete floor in a bedroom. I'm not sure how this would be on a high traffic area but for a bedroom it is perfect. Looks much more expensive that it was and doesn't have that loud laminate sound. Starting the flooring was a little difficult as the floor floats and tended to move around a bit but we sat 5 gallon buckets on the corners and that made it much easier. As others have said, there is a lot of dust when cutting the pieces. Overall, a great product at an even better price. May 5, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Slight moisture will ruin this floor I bought Cherry laminate at Home Depot in 2012 that was $0.99/sq ft and really held up well in our small office. When we did an addition, I looked for the original flooring only to find it was discontinued. I chose the Brazilian Cherry flooring and really like the color/gaining/and general appearance (better than the older cherry flooring). Problem is that 2 months later, the edges are bubbling up from what I assume is the slight moisture that comes from a swiffer and what the dog drips when she drinks. The floor has in no way been saturated or had water left sitting on it but it is bubbling up in several areas. The price was nice but it doesn't look like it will last more than a year (and who wants to rip out the floor and replace every year). October 7, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by extremely moisture sensitive Looks good but is extremely sensitive to moisture. ie if you leave a damp towel on it for an hour the seams permanently swell leaving a very ugly raised circles. If there is a possibility for it getting the slightest bit wet i wouldn't install it. No damp towels, shoes, cloths or spitting camels. Although its cheap it would be nice if it lasted more then two months. A previous installation of another manufactures product has been installed in our dining room for 10 years and despite our best efforts it is still in excellent condition. September 9, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Looks good when down, somewhat difficult to install The floor looks very nice once it is down. It is a little difficult to install since it is a cheaper floor. As you are shopping, one of the most important things to remember when buying laminate is that the more expensive the product, the better it will click and lock into place. TrafficMaster being one of the cheaper brands on the market doesn't click and lock quite as easily as you'd expect. However, once you get the hang of things its pretty easy. Here are a few tips to installing this product. 1. Make sure you have a puller bar and a tapping block. A rubber mallet is also very handy. 2. Be absolutely sure your joints are perfect before moving to the next row of boards. If just one of the planks is out of alignment it will screw up your entire floor. 3. The boards are made in China. While the quality is decent, but you will get 1% or 2% of planks that are not within the tolerances to make a perfect joint. Don't drive yourself crazy trying to fit these boards, you bought a cheap laminate floor for a reason, just grab another board and save your sanity. 4. Be careful with your puller and tapping block, you can and will chip a few boards. HD recommends 10% overage. Thats probably about right for a higher quality floor. Plan 15% for this one. 5. Get a decent saw blade before you start. Laminate floor really does a number on your blade, but starting with a sharp blade will keep your cuts clean and minimize chips. 6. Finally, get a little floor putty. Roberts deep red matches very closely with this flooring. It will fill miter joints and other imperfections nicely. January 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Can't be happier! I purchased the flooring on sale to replace the 17 year old carpeting and tile I had on my floors. It has changed the entire look of my home. I am so pleased. I enlisted the help of my son who did the installing, 4 rooms and a hallway went down in only a couple of weekends. I watched the videos and read the comments, the pros and cons which gave me a tremendous amount of knowledge and confidence that I can do this. I have 3 Shih-tzus and 2 cats, the flooring is easier to clean and I've had no issues with scratches from their nails. January 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by make sure to purchase click floor installtion tool with this product. The installation started out easy however after the first row I realized that I should of had purchased the click flooring installation kit ( I went back to home Depot and purchased it) SKU # 417838 , the kit brings 50 wall spacers, taping block and a pull bar to tighten the boards together, again I highly suggest you pick this item up along with your laminate flooring. The cutting of the boards puts out a lot of dust so I moved my table saw outdoors to do the cutting. As all wood flooring installations you need to stagger the installation of the boards so the seams won't line up. When finished the room looked even better than what I was expecting , the finish on the laminate looks great and the joints are barely noticeable , as all laminate flooring it streaks very easily hand prints, bare foot prints and even the wiping of the floor with a damp rag leaves streaks, many people in the forums suggest a little vinegar and water with a very very damp mop will remove laminate streaks. knowing this I put down a rug and a runner to avoid some of the maintenance. I would highly recommend this product the price is great and the results are even better. There is a lot of cutting so do try to buy a couple extra boxes to compensate for any mis-cuts, or damaged boards. also don't forget thresholds for door openings. ( I take time to do product reviews after every major purchase , help keep me doing them by rating my review) hope this review was helpful. January 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Better than carpet. Everyone wanting to know how much and who installed it. Saw these in store and customer service rep assisted me. Rep was very knowledgeable and helped to pick best material that would best accompany this material. Purchased this to get rid of carpet and cover the original wood floors that were damaged. Have accidentally dropped soda, beer, liquor and water and the floor hasn't warped or changed colors or anything negative. Well a little negative, scratches somewhat easily but can be fixed with a little elbow grease. Would definitely do whole place if I were to live here longer than I plan to. It's in an apartment. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by awesome floor ! better then real hardwood Bought this floor to redo a bedroom for my two little girls.. After multiple trips to disney they wanted a princess themed rooms. The hardest part about installing this floor was ripping out the old carpet and staples with the padding! the floor goes down so easy and minimum tools are required. The durability is there with kids and a 120 pound german shepherd. This floor was 3 times less then the real hardwood in my house thats only a year old and was already chipping and fading.. I plan to redo my entire house with this traffic master floor! Finally happy I found something thats has value and will last a lifetime! January 12, 2014
