I knew from the other reviews that these were going to be thin, but I had no idea how thin! I was skeptical when I opened the box (they feel like colored packaging material), but figured I'd install them since they were inexpensive. I was surprised how well they looked when I was done. Yes, they are thin, but that made them really easy to work (particularly if you have to cut in around obstructions). The adhesive worked well over our old vinyl tiles and they didn't lift during vacuuming. Personally, I wouldn't put them in a main living area, but think they are great for a basement, laundry or utility room. I have purchased much more expensive carpet tiles and these certainly don't compare, but they are also a fraction of the cost. Depending on where you want to use them, I'd certainly recommend them for the price. Just don't expect "luxury."

This product is super! It looks nice, is reasonably priced and is easy to install! We put it down in a BR that we're turning into a little home gym...and it looks great! With the checkered pattern it forms when you lay it as instructed, other people can't even tell it's not a single roll of carpet. It is thin as most of the reviews point out, but for the price, you really can't expect more. And the advantage to having them so thin is that you don't need any tools to put them down -- we were able to cut and shape them for crooks and nooks with a pair of scissors and a box cutter. That's it! Again, great product that adds nice soft texture to hard flooring. Finally, it vacuums like regular carpet. Just can't beat it!

We recently moved into a home that had sectioned off a portion of the basement/family room to use as an optional extra bedroom. It had not been completed and the floor was simply concrete with an area rug. Not only did it look bad, it was cold and dirty - we certainly didn't want to put an extra bed in the room. We were looking for an inexpensive alternative and examined everything from laminated wood to wall to wall carpeting to vinyl floor tiles. We ended up trying the carpet tiles and couldn't have been more pleased with the result.
The carpeting look won't fool anyone but the ease at which the squares were laid, the cleanliness of the floor, and the warm feel to room now has us considering additional uses for the space. Carpet is very thin but that didn't affect the look nor the viability of the product. Very economical yet solid way to cover the concrete floor.

I bought a "fixer" home that had terrible carpet because of the dog that used to be there. Since my first floor was a concrete slab, this was a fast (2 days) and inexpensive way to carpet my entire first floor. It seemed too light and way too thin, but the reviews convinced me to try at least one box before judging. 3 weeks later, and I am happy with the results. I washed and dried each section as I went and it seemed to help the carpet adhesive hold.

Our home is a converted 105 year old brick house in a small "company" town. Faced with a room size that is outside typical carpet parameters (not a 10x12) and baseboard configuration that could not be altered, we opted for carpet tiles to replace well-word commercial grade flooring. Some reviewers noted the tiles are flimsy and perhaps they are. But any thicker and they would not have been useful in our case.
Installation was easy enough. We did not follow the exact directions as starting at true center would have meant cutting a large number of the tiles. Instead we began slightly farther than center on the room length and flush against one wall. The result still looks great. Maneuvering the tiles under the baseboard with a plastic spackle knife was a quick process. In six boxes we found only one tile with a small flaw in the pile; so small that we opted not to replace it with one of the leftovers.
The only complaint we offer is that the cellophane backing did not come off cleanly (in one piece). I'd estimate 20% good, 80% not good. More often than not we were lifting slivers and shards off edges and corners with a putty knife or finger nails.
Adhesion is good. Vacuuming has not disturbed any tiles, edges or otherwise.
The old flooring was in the room 17 years and took a beating from 4 growing girls and 2 rowdy dogs over that span. Only time will tell if these tiles will last, but since they will be subjected to 2 older adults, typically in bare or slipper-clad feet, and one mild-mannered pooch they just might..

I purchased these for my utility room. The floor in our utility room is very rough/uneven concrete with some patches of really old linoleum and glue that will never come off.... so needless to say I needed something that didn't require a super smooth, flat surface and something that would be a good choice in a utility room that gets high traffic and gets abused. I installed the tiles myself- they cut easily (when you need to fit them to the wall as you get close to the perimeter of the room), the instructions are foolproof, and so far they have held up perfectly. The tiles have not shifted or buckled, even with two toddlers constantly coming in and out and my husband is a plumber so workboots are constantly on them. They vacuum nicely and I think they are quite nice looking. Great product!!

I bought this carpet titles for our bedroom, which is located on the basement of our apartment in NYC. We have ceramic tiles all over the apartment, which looks great, it's easy to clean but makes our bedroom a little cold to walk barefoot during the winter. I wasn't sure about the look and quality of this carpet but I am very happy with it. We installed it 6 months ago and still looks very clean. A quick vacuum does the work. Installation was very easy (took us about 15 minutes for 2 boxes). The tiles are very, very thin (a little shocking, I have to say! Think of 10 sheets of regular paper piled up...) but for my surprise it does the work of keeping the room warm. They also look great, you can barely see they are carpet titles. I would definitely recommend this product for a room that needs some covering and it's on the budget. It's very easy to clean, if you drop water it dries fast. However please take into consideration that this is a cheap product, it doesn't look expensive or super cozy, it is rather a simple product. It is perfect for basements, all rooms and hallways. I am not too sure if I would want to lay down on it, since it's not a soft carpet. It's warm, but it's not soft. Maybe not so good for a TV room or kids rooms. My final point is: it's a perfect carpet to walk on, not so good to sit or lay down on it.
