Answer:
It can be applied over tile but the tile must be scrupulously clean before doing it. In addition to washing we cleaned every area under each tile with rubbing alcohol before laying the tile down. didn't have any problems with tiles not sticking. As for cutting, we used tin snips for shapes and a box cutter and straight edge for straight cuts, which you can bend to break straight when scored deeply.

I applied the beige color of these over existing bathroom tile and they stuck great. There is a great deal of prep work beforehand though, mainly washing the existing floor, removing all dust and loose grout, and shaping any uneven surfaces. I used a Kershaw Leek blade to cut the tiles but any strong knife that cuts smoothly is your best bet. Mark the tile, go over the marks with a little pressure, and then go over the marks again but slower and with a lot more pressure. If the cut is straight, you can usually bend the tile around the cut and snap the tile. If the cut has curves or irregular edges, I would keep a scissor, pliers, and some sandpaper nearby to help get the tougher cuts. Read Less

We recommend using a latex grout when installing Ceramica. You can find a pre-mixed lates grout made by Custom in your local Home Depot. It is available in 7 colors. I hope that helps!

Answer:
Hello David and thank you for your question.
Due to the depth of the grout lines (1/8") i would not recommend using a standard cement (portland) based grout.A synthetic pre-mixed grout is a preferable choice. Pre-mixed grout tends to "stick" and flex better than the traditional cement based grout.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by this product is great easy to install we used grout looks like real tile many friends said they love my BATH it has been down a year and water not a problem and cleaning it good, my daughter installed it and she never did tile before or grout, 1st time and she is sold I ordered more this fall for her to do an entry area LOVE IT!! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kind of Obsessed For $1.50/sq ft I am so in love with my new floors!! We did 1/4" spacers (couldn't really use them the "right" way since it is not very deep, and self adhesive, but cut them and improvised) with "natural gray" grout. Cut with a box cutter - straight edges were easy to score and snap. The weirder spots were tougher - but not too hard to chisel away at. Ive never tiled before or even laid the self stick laminate but it wasn't too hard for the crafty type, and I think it came out great! Can't attest to durability much yet, but moving the large appliances alone (not lifting, but pushing) didn't damage them, so I can't imagine much would. And everyone thinks they're ceramic (not to mention they're super impressed that I can "tile")! I'm thrilled with the purchase! April 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product I laid this tile over a linoleum bathroom floor. We put laminate in the room that butts up to the bathroom and there was no way I could put ceramic tile with backer board since it would have been higher than the laminate. I wanted an even transition between bathroom and laminate. It was very easy to install and I did prep the floor before laying down the tiles. I grouted with a gray grout; this was very easy to do and the next day I caulked all around the perimeter of the bathroom. It really looks like ceramic. It is absolutely beautiful. And BTW, did I tell you this was my first time doing this and I am a +60 woman? December 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very satisfied I installed this in two bathrooms. I was a little leery after reading the review about pink spots on the tile, but my order did not have any. Used a primer recommended by the Home Depot staff. I used a 1/4 grout line with the pre-mixed grout to finish the floor. I also cut 3 1/2 pieces to make a base board. The tile doesn't stick to textured walls so I used a very thin layer of glues as well for this. The finished product looks great and the floor is much warmer than ceramic tile. The tile did not cut as easily as other reviews indicated. I used a fine tooth saber saw to make my cuts and a little sandpaper to knock off excess vinyl. The tile did not chip. May 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So happy I have zero experience laying tile or a floor but after reading reviews here, online blogs and watching Youtube videos I decided to try it with the TrafficMaster grout-able flooring. I was nervous since I couldn't see a sample in store but I took a risk and ordered 4 boxes and I'm glad I did. The color was what I was hoping for and the ease of laying the tile surprised me. I also grouted for the first time and that went well too. I did my kitchen floor and have a little left over that I plan to use in my bathroom. I would highly recommend this product. People who have seen it are amazed that it is "peel and stick" and not ceramic. February 17, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by love it. absolutely love it. easy to install, sticks really well, very durable. first DIY bathroom renovation, only took me and my husband to install it for 4 hours including grouting. February 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easiest Bathroom Floor Replacement Ever We have two bathrooms that had linoleum floors in bad need of replacement. I had done at least four tile floors before but I wanted to find a product that was easier to install. We read about the product on the Home Depot website and watched two videos on its installation. This product seemed to fit the fit the bill perfectly. We ordered the color we wanted and when it arrived, reviewed the videos and began installing. We cleaned and prepared the floor surface thoroughly and warmed the tiles with a hair dryer before laying them down, as it is winter and floors were cold. We had no problems with tiles that didn't stick, all tiles were of very high quality. We found that the tiles cut easily with a tin snips to shape them around toilets, tubs and door jams. We chose to grout the tiles for a more realistic look and we are very pleased with the outcome. We highly recommend this product for a realistic, easy to install alternative to ceramic tile. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TrafficMaster Ceramica Tile so resembles ceramic tile, only the homeowner knows for sure. My husband and I, being 'Do It Yourselfers', searched for a 12" X 12" tile that would be both resilient and enhance the beauty of our kitchen/ breakfast nook area. On Home Depot's website I discovered the TrafficMaster Ceramica Tile. It had the look of real ceramic and could be grouted if desired. After a visit to Home Depot, we chose the Alpine Marble in a shade of White with added flecks of gold. When it arrived, my husband installed the center of the floor in just one day. The instructions were very easy to follow. We had no problem cutting the rest to fill in and shape the outer corners and door ways. This tile is thicker than most and has rounded edges. Once completed the beauty of the marbled pattern throughout made our whole kitchen area appear larger. The floor has an awe of richness and also the durability needed. Our guests are impressed and ask me if it's real ceramic. I smile and say I'll never tell. May 6, 2014
