Yes, this can be layed over any surface, but keep in mind that all self stick title need a surface to stick too, so doing the adhesive mix before would be a great idea.

Answer:
I have no experience with congoleum, but you can definitely lay these over existing tiles and vinyl.
The vinyl tiles I had existing were decades old; but the peel and stick process of these tiles was sufficiently adhesive and I had absolutely no problem. It has been 6 months, and the tiles are here to stay, and look great.

Answer:
Yes, as long as the surface is smooth, clean, level and dry. I had one section in my project that I had to use a thin set concrete to level it out and the tiles laid down perfectly.

Yes. I used additional adhesive and it looks great. Let it dry a few days before grouting. I don't remember the name brand of the adhesive but they sell adhesive at any hardware store. 30 tiles to a box.

I would go to the store and find the best prep liquid for your type of surface. this should add to the bonding plus not add any thickness between the tile and the floor. Hope this helps. Read Less

12 in. x 12 in. Coastal Grey Vinyl Tile Flooring (29 sq. ft. / case) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 83.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible! Don't waste your time My wife and I bought this tile because it was suppose to be convenient and efficient. WRONG! Every single tile was stuck together, there was so much glue on the tiles, and all over the front of the edges that it gets everywhere. Tiles were stuck to the box and there was glue all over the box. Because of the glue running and seeping out everywhere - the faces of the tile got glue, along with my tools. Between every single tile I had to wipe my hands with a rag soaked in alcohol to get the sticky residue off. I then had to go back and clean every single tile before grouting. Never again. And they aren't cost effective either. Should have just done regular tile.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from easy to install I have installed this tile in two bathrooms, one in a basement on concrete and the other in an upstairs bath on a plywood subfloor. I followed installation instructions using basement proofer on the concrete and henry brand primer on the plywood subfloor. I also grouted both floors. The basement has been in use for about 10 months. So far no issues at all. Upstairs bath has only been in use about 2 weeks, but so far so good. I think tile looks good and is much easier and quicker to install than ceramic. Note: I used the pre mixed Simple Grout. Don't grout too much at once as this stuff sets up a little fast. A mixture of half vinegar and half water will help clean off haze.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 100% Satisfied! For the DIY bathroom makeover, I purchased the peel and stick tiles. I removed the existing linoleum floor and got down to the wood. These tiles are amazing. They look and feel great. They stick really well and are very easy to cut to size. Just needed to score it gently, a few times, with a razor and straight edge, and it snaps off. The adhesive is very sticky. I would get it on my hands, and then, would get it on the tiles while handling them. Washed off the tiles easier than it did my hands. I used grout with no issues. Again, Everything looks and feels amazing. would definitely recommend. Note, I have been very careful not to scratch them, as some reviews say it is easy to scratch. After a few weeks of regular use, these tiles are holding up great. No scratches still from regular use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it So easy to install. However, for some reasons, the grout developed cracks around six months later and the glue came out thru the cracks. It was messy but I still love it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy and looks high end Would have been super easy, but the grouting takes some finesse. However grouting was worth the effort and the tiles look way better than expected. Very easy to trim as well. Just score the tile with a utility knife along a straight edge and it breaks right along the line with your hands. I also like how the printed pattern/texture is random enough to make it look natural and with 70 or so tiles I didn't notice any duplicates.
