Contour edge?

Not in the specs. Does this tile have the contour edge that mekes it look more ceramic?
Asked by: zenthing
Yes, the edges are "broken"/beveled about an 1/8 inch or so, which allows for a look like tile. It may even be grouted.

Was easy to put down, the only issue is be sure your subfloor is free of any debris and you might possibly have to use an adhesive to keep the tiles down. We grouted ours so that helped keep the edges in place. Grouting definitely made it look even less like vinyl and more like tile. Everyone loved it on Facebook!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy Install, Looks Great Looks like a much higher end tile than what you'd expect for the price. I have put this down in a bathroom at one house, and a bathroom, a laundry room and a kitchen at another so far and everyone loves it. Have not grouted but like that the tile can be spaced and grouted. Doesn't have the "cheap stickdown" tile look or feel at all. They feel like real tile minus the cold, the cost and all the labor. And try pulling up a ceramic tile and sticking a new one back down in it's place. Good luck, but with these, if you happen to ruin one replacement is easy (use a hairdryer to heat it up). Installation is a bit more difficult than the cheap vinyl stickdown tiles but was still very easy. Although a utility razor won't cut through these, you don't need it to - score then break apart. Install tips: Score with a razor and break apart. For curves etc, I had no trouble scoring a few times and bending the tiles around the score until the shape came apart. Lay the tiles flat on the floor in a warm room and make sure they are up to at least room temperature before you lay them. If the box is on end the tiles might be bowed a bit when you try to lay them. If going over existing vinyl, make sure it's extra clean before laying the tile. Take tile from all the boxes you're working with so any variations aren't obvious. Use some cheesecloth and wipe down each spot before you stick the tile down. After you're done installing, crank the heat up in the room so the tiles really have a chance to lay down to your floor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved this resilient flooring! Everyone that comes to our home comments on how beautiful the kitchen floor looks! They have to bend down and feel the floor to confirm it is not ceramic. It looks like ceramic, but feels "warmer". We love the feel and the look. It cleans easily and the concrete color looks great with our stainless steel and dark wood. In fact it hides dirt amazingly! The tile was extremely easy to lay down. The 10X20 foot job went quickly and smoothly. I loved being able to cut the tile with a box cutter. If the tiles are slightly warm, it is even easier to go around curved edges. (I did this in the summer in Western NY) I did not use spacers because I wanted really thin grout lines. I used the premixed grey grout suggested and it was easy! I could not be happier with the results.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Look great with grout! I've been thinking about trying these for awhile and finally decided to give them a try in one of my small bathrooms. The bathroom has 14-year old ugly ceramic tiles that just never look clean despite even professional attempts at cleaning. They're just worn out. In any case, those ceramic tiles are a bear to remove. So, I wanted to try installing these 12" vinyl tiles directly OVER the ceramic ones... I figured that if they didn't turn out right, I'd just remove it all and start chiseling away at those old tiles. Well, I am happy to report that they turned out better than alright... they look awesome! You really CANNOT tell that these are vinyl tiles AT ALL. And laying them directly over my old tiles worked perfectly. I didn't even use spacers. I just stuck all of the tiles on and grouted (using Precision luxury vinyl grout) about 4 tiles at a time, wiped away the excess grout, and done! The instructions say to use no wider than 1/8" grout lines. My grout lines are 1/4" and they turned out just fine. There were 2 grout cracks/spots that I ended up patching with my fingertip (took less than 2 minutes). The tiles feel very solid and the grout is rock-hard. Some people reported that the edges of some tiles stuck up and wouldn't stick. I was worried when I saw 5 of the 30 tiles had corners that weren't sticking. I stood on the corners for about 2 minutes each just before grouting and they stuck down just fine. Once they were not sticking up anymore, I grouted in-between and they weren't going anywhere. I would recommend these tiles to anyone and everyone I know. My bathroom looks fresh and new again and the entire job cost me less than $60 including tiles, grout, and grout seal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beware the web color sample Just to let you know that the color sample in the web site picture is NOT representative of the color. The web sample leads you to believe that the color is grey - its not. Its leaning more towards brown. Hope this saves you an unnecessary order if you were going for more of a true grey.
