Yes, it is peel and stick and even though the adhesive is strong, my contractor used tile adhesive to be on the safe side.

The product is a peel and stick, however, I would strongly recommend using an adhesive so that it will be a permanent installation.

Answer:
Heated floor mats are typically placed over the tile- not under. In which case, it wouldn't hurt to lay over the tiles. They're hardy enough that the heat won't effect them.
If you are referring to a radiant floor heating system, then you'll need to put down 3/8" self leveler (cement) over the heating system prior to laying the tile.

You can install the vinyl tile over an in-floor heating system (pipe in concrete) as long as the temperature is kept less than 85 F and there is 1/2" between the element and tile.

Answer:
Yes. You can install this over existing vinyl flooring. Make sure the floor is level and clean. Repair any flaws, such as rips or tears. You can remove those and fill with leveling compound. I also recommend using a primer (sold at HD) to make your floor bond better to the existing floor. I did exactly what you are wanting to do and I'm very happy with the results.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A lot harder than it looks. Nice and easy to place and stick, use spacers if you are going to grout it. I really like the way it came out but 500 square feet was just too much for me. I like the product a lot for the ease of installation and final look. All my problems were caused by me not the product. Would buy again and grout again but make sure I have less excess grout to clean up. Quality only got good because I don't kow how long it will hold up September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good vinyl tile and easy to work with I used Sagebrush and Cool Gray to create this floor in my kitchen. The success of your project depends on floor prep. As many have said here, you have to make sure the surface is clean and level. I was laying this over a prior vinyl floor. The floor was level and all I had to do was clean it good with TSP and hot water. I did use the bonding primer (also sold at HD) to make sure the tiles would adhere properly. I used a good sharp knife to score and snap the tile for areas around doors. I also did an undercut so they would slide underneath without showing cut lines. Again, pretty easy with proper measuring. I'm very happy with the results. This 9x13 floor cost me under a little under $200. I would recommend Trafficmaster Ceramica to anyone. It's a thicker tile than most out there and the finish has a nice sheen without being high gloss shiny. I also like that I could use two different colors on the floor. Before and after photos show the improvement. March 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful flooring Wonderful flooring product. It lays down great, but because it is a bit of a hybrid product can be tuff to cut in the detail areas. Floor can be laid in a day, but trim floor prep and details can take a couple of days to do right. We will see what time will tell, but I don't anticipate any problems. Total time to install a complete 150 sq. floor 3.5 days. March 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent tile...JUST BE CAREFUL on you ORDER Everything about the product was fantastic. Easy to put in and easy to grout. The biggest issue we had was ordering...we needed about 2 more tiles from our original order...the box says 10x10 but it is more like 9x10...we ordered a second box - not worried about the colors matching because it is a manufactured tile...but we had to order it 4 different times! The company kept sending us the wrong color...turns out -they sent the wrong color to begin with (which I thought was off from the beginning- but the Sagebrush matched the black sink we had...so I just thought the color was just off from the internet pictures.) W e originally thought we were ordering the Coastal Grey -but when they sent the 2nd box, they sent Concrete Gray, then Coastal Grey - until I noticed the Sagebrush color on line. - and figured out to order that. Luckily - Home Depot was really good about returning all of it...but just be careful - the manufacturer who sends you the product - often sends the wrong colored tiles!!! My recommendation is to order one more box than you need...if you don't need it- return it to the HOME DEPOT store and get your money back. Good luck!! May 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Came out even better than I hoped. I originally did not want to use peel and stick tiles as that is what I had just torn out, and already knew their weaknesses. The styles available in store were also all unappealing and limited to me. I thought better of it when I saw that they could be grouted, reducing or eliminating the seams where dirt could get under them, or they can wear and come loose, and looked at the larger selection here online. I ordered these along with Simple Grout pre mixed grout in "Natural Gray" to tile roughly 60 square feet on top of concrete sub floor in my kitchen. The tiles all went in in maybe three hours tops, working at a fairly calm pace. Used 1/8th inch tile spacers to create grout seams. laying tiles from the measured center of the room out. Did the grout a day later in about an hour and a half. As others stated, the tiles are fairly thick to cut, though I did find that if scored repeatedly from the BACK side with a utility knife, they could be "snapped" to the point that they were held only by the textured face, and could then be slit lengthwise with the knife from there. A better cutting system would speed up the job though. I installed with the tiles all facing the same direction as the arrows on the backing, in the order they came out of the box, and can discern no repeating pattern in any of the tiles. The final product is really better than I had hoped. The tiles look very close to stone, and the grout really sells it. They may not be the "real deal" as far as stone tiles go, but the sheer cost savings make that moot. Material is a fraction of the cost, and my labor is "free." I spent just about two hundred dollars total, and that includes a mostly unused box of tile, and a grout that was too light in color that I ended up scraping out and not using. So far they seem tough. I manged to put light surface scratches in them dragging the stove back in place, which all disappeared with a little rubbing. I anticipate they will wear well over the years, and I have plenty of spares if any need replacing. If you are on the fence, just buy them. February 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent value! We have installed these tiles in two bathrooms. In the first bathroom, we took up the existing sheet vinyl and used an additional adhesive. In the second bathroom, we left the sheet vinyl and used no additional adhesive. We grouted both with a gray grout from Home Depot. Both floors look great! We are optimistic that they will continue to look good and wear well. June 26, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice looking! I love these tiles. The colors are beautiful and they look very expensive / high quality / not cheap. I just installed them a few days ago so I can't speak to their durability, but I'm very happy with the purchase. March 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Trafficmaster ceramica vinyl groutable tiles I am a 40yr old woman and I was able to lay this tile and grout it with Pre-mixed grout all in a day by myself. I purchased 16 boxes. It is so easy to work with and easy to cut. The color was a bit different than it appeared on site/box however it is still beautiful. Very thick and durable. I am completely satisfied and can't wait to see how well it holds up. May 20, 2014
