Customer Questions & Answers

Is this product a peel and stick tile? It does not say it is, but the write up indicates it is. Please advise.

Asked by: Anonymous
It is peel and stick and it was installed only with the adhesive on tile. Time will tell if it stays stuck

Can I install Traffic Master Ceramica over existing vct tile, and do I need to use a primer and spread adhesive under the tiles?

Asked by: Clark
Yes. You can install this over existing vinyl flooring. Make sure the floor is level and clean. Repair any flaws, such as rips or tears. You can remove those and fill with leveling compound. I also recommend using a primer (sold at HD) to make your floor bond better to the existing floor. I did exactly what you are wanting to do and I'm very happy with the results.

What color of ready mix grout would you recommend with sagebrush tile?

Asked by: Deborah
I used a brown grout. I'm not sure if the color was Earth or Tobacco Brown. It looks really nice.

12 in. x 12 in. Sagebrush Vinyl Tile Flooring (29 sq. ft. / case) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value! We have installed these tiles in two bathrooms. In the first bathroom, we took up the existing sheet vinyl and used an additional adhesive. In the second bathroom, we left the sheet vinyl and used no additional adhesive. We grouted both with a gray grout from Home Depot. Both floors look great! We are optimistic that they will continue to look good and wear well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks good a year later. I installed these in my 5 x 9 bathroom. They look just like real tile, when used with grout. A year later and no problems. The adhesive is very good and holds well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Came out even better than I hoped. I originally did not want to use peel and stick tiles as that is what I had just torn out, and already knew their weaknesses. The styles available in store were also all unappealing and limited to me. I thought better of it when I saw that they could be grouted, reducing or eliminating the seams where dirt could get under them, or they can wear and come loose, and looked at the larger selection here online. I ordered these along with Simple Grout pre mixed grout in "Natural Gray" to tile roughly 60 square feet on top of concrete sub floor in my kitchen. The tiles all went in in maybe three hours tops, working at a fairly calm pace. Used 1/8th inch tile spacers to create grout seams. laying tiles from the measured center of the room out. Did the grout a day later in about an hour and a half. As others stated, the tiles are fairly thick to cut, though I did find that if scored repeatedly from the BACK side with a utility knife, they could be "snapped" to the point that they were held only by the textured face, and could then be slit lengthwise with the knife from there. A better cutting system would speed up the job though. I installed with the tiles all facing the same direction as the arrows on the backing, in the order they came out of the box, and can discern no repeating pattern in any of the tiles. The final product is really better than I had hoped. The tiles look very close to stone, and the grout really sells it. They may not be the "real deal" as far as stone tiles go, but the sheer cost savings make that moot. Material is a fraction of the cost, and my labor is "free." I spent just about two hundred dollars total, and that includes a mostly unused box of tile, and a grout that was too light in color that I ended up scraping out and not using. So far they seem tough. I manged to put light surface scratches in them dragging the stove back in place, which all disappeared with a little rubbing. I anticipate they will wear well over the years, and I have plenty of spares if any need replacing. If you are on the fence, just buy them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice look Let me concur with two other reviews on two points: a) these are not 12" x 12", probably to allow for grouting; and b) these tiles are much thicker than older vinyl tiles, which means they are more difficult to cut. I can't agree that you can score them with a razor knife and "snap" them. Nothing in my kitchen is remotely square, so I had quite a few odd angles to fit. I found high-quality, sharp scissors vastly preferable to a matte knife, and it was far easier if you heated the tile with a hair dryer. Make sure you have some nail polish remover to take off the stickum that will undoubtedly adhere to some of your tiles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tile and easy to install This is great tile. One of my friends thought it was ceramic but peel and stick works for me. It was very easy to put in and I decided to start in a corner and I lucked out. It fit almost perfect. I only had to trim several pieces around the doors, the rest fit like a glove. If you like the real ceramic look you can space these with a shim and grout it. I butted mine together as that was much easier to do and it looks great. Looks great with my new Home Depot stove, which I also love, but that is another story.. I actually had old 8" 50s tile in the kitchen so I stripped that and left the fiber board that was over the hard wood floor intact. Then I had some remnant tile that I laid down to make a smooth surface so I could see any nails, lumps or uneven areas. I fixed those as I proceeded and laid the Traffic Master over that as you can see. I also used 1"X6" good pine wood, painted High Gloss black as the baseboard. Really looks great...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A lot harder than it looks. Nice and easy to place and stick, use spacers if you are going to grout it. I really like the way it came out but 500 square feet was just too much for me. I like the product a lot for the ease of installation and final look. All my problems were caused by me not the product. Would buy again and grout again but make sure I have less excess grout to clean up. Quality only got good because I don't kow how long it will hold up

Online, there were more brown and tan mixture. After opening the box we were REALLY upset that the brown shown was a dark green color that doesn't match our kitchen at all. I need to talk with our local customers service to see if they can be returned for a different pattern.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking, easy to install and CHEAP! This is the second time I've used Ceramica in my home. There are two other rooms that will likely be getting the same product in other colors. One big tip: use spacers and grout the tile when you're done. Most of my house guests tell me that they thought it was ceramic tile until I told them otherwise.
