Answer:
No, it will not. It serves to prevent slippage of the rug from the surface of the floor. It was not manufactured to damage your floor in any way. If water does get on the floor, beneath the surface of the gripper, you will definitely have a problem if you leave it there. Just place the gripper beneath the carpet and enjoy your hardwood floor. This is a really good gripper.

Answer:
No. The rug gripper itself is made of poly-vinyl chlorde (PVC) and polyester. This should ensure that the rug gripper will hold in place on a vinyl floor.

Hello mami and thank you for your question.
The Technical Support team at Home Legends told me that the rug gripper should not slide on vinyl. Since it made from durable PVC material, it also should not leave a mark on the vinyl.
Best wishes with this project.

I was at the store today & I saw one like this, BUT it didn't say anything on the package about being water repellent. The sales associate told me that if I placed my order online, this would of been the rug pad that I would have received. So do I beleive the description online or the one that i saw with my own eyes?

Answer:
It is not a rug but a rug gripper. It goes under the rug to prevent it from moving about on the floor's surface. You can wash it if you so choose if it becomes soiled, as it does not repel water. It will clean nicely if put in the washing machine on "gentle" or handwashed.

Answer:
I would say… if you buy it online, trust the online description and if you buy it in the store, trust the package you are purchasing. This way, you have the proof that the product you bought was marketed as being water repellent/not water repellent. Therefore, if something does happen there won't be any room for subjectivity in either party.

Althought the rug gripper will not absorb the water, it does not prevent water from passing through as it has small holes as pictured. We recommend keeping it dry and allowing it to dry after washing before reuse.

Will the rug gripper also protect the hardwood floor? The backing of the rug is quite rough. I read some of the reviews that the material is thin.

Answer:
The rug gripper is not sold as a floor protector; however, if you cut the gripper to exactly fit the size of your rug, there will be a buffer formed between the gripper and the floor's surface.

I found the gripper quite thick. I don't see how it could aid in damaging your wood floor unless you trim it to be considerably smaller than the rug itself.

Answer:
The material for our rug grippers is thin, but it will prevent the area rug from having contact with the surface of the flooring. Your flooring will be protected, as long as the rug gripper is between it and the flooring.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A gripper that actually grips The gripper holds the rug in place perfectly. Can be cut to fit under different sized rugs as well. 5 stars on this one! May 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase! Gripper Pad does just that....grips the rug to prevent movement. Easy install...unfold and place where you want it, then put your rug on top. Takes more time to open the package than it does to install. So far its been a great product. November 5, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DELUXE 5 FT. X 8 FT. NON-SLIP RUG TO FLOOR GRIPPER PAD Needed to ensure no slip on the rug. Excellent quality and all you do is put on floor and lay rug over it. If it's a little bit cut is with sissors - a child could do it - if allowed sissors - lol. September 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great! We recently installed a new laminate flooring enhancing it with a area rug which moved easily. We searched for a solution and found the non-slip gripper as a perfect product to eliminate the rug from moving. July 23, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It works It works well for area rugs on a cast concrete floor. Easy to cut. June 17, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks good because you can't see it We needed to keep an area rug from slipping on our engineered hardwood floor. This did the trick and no one can tell that it is there. April 29, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This product is OK but not as good as expected. First, as for "appearance"....it's not applicable since this product is used under a rug and is never seen. For whatever reason, it does not adhere to the bottom of the rug and to the floor which is laminate material. So, as stated above, the product is OK but not as good as expected. September 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Transition Rug A very good product for the price and has served me will. April 29, 2014
