Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great value for the price the Kane creek walnut is a very beautiful laminate floor. However, it was not the easiest to install. Some of the planks were difficult to lock. Some of the planks I had to tack down with my brad nail gun. But in the end, I'm satisfied with the finished product! June 5, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great look for a great value The flooring was very easy to install and it looks great! The quality of the pieces were excellent and it's made in the U.S.A.! June 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product, fair price. We wanted to design a nursery for our first child from the ground up. We looked everywhere for flooring that had nice variation in color, so if we liked it we could bring it into the rest of the house with our beech wood cabinets and cherry furniture. After searching all the local specialty flooring stores and coming up with nothing in our price range, Home Depot was a last ditch effort to find something of quality that we agreed on. This flooring has nice red and yellow tones in it and the sample we received in store not only looks great with our cabinets and furniture, but also looks amazing with the espresso colored furniture in the nursery. I was afraid that with a product so affordable that the pattern would repeat so often it would give itself away as a laminate, but that did not turn out to be the case at all. There is plenty of variation in this laminate to get a striking look without an obviously repeating pattern. We definitely intend to buy more for the rest of the house in the future. Neither of us have any experience laying flooring and we were hesitant to DIY this project because the nursery has several odd angles that we were nervous about cutting and fitting, and the rest of the house has even crazier angles, but it all went together so well we no longer have any reservations about doing the rest of the house ourselves. All the pieces locked together nice and tight, easily, with the help of a separate kit for installing flooring that included spacers, a pull bar, and a block (a rubber mallet is pictured on the packaging but not included, you will want that as well.) My husband completed the room by himself in less than a day with minimal swearing, and was able to use the saw we already had with a thin blade, rather than buy a flooring only saw. I definitely recommend installing the higher grade padding underneath the flooring, as it absorbs nearly all the sound of footsteps and appears to be much better insulating than some of the lesser pads we looked at. We did have to return one box of the flooring due to damage during shipping that mashed all of the corners in one box, but we were able to do so in store and it was so easy it was stupid. Fortunately, we purchased one extra box in case of damage or defective pieces which worked out very well for us. Something of note I should add is that my husband smashed an ink pen in the garage and at some point tracked it in the house on his work boots and all over the new flooring. It came right up with a little flooring cleaner, no scrubbing. We also have dogs that are very curious about the goings on in that room and the sixty pound dog hasn't made a mark in it. We've had to slide furniture all over the place during the various stages of the project with no harm to the finish. June 12, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible product We had this flooring professional installed by home depot. The first week the floor looked beautiful. Then my daughter accidentally spilled some diluted carpet cleaner, instantly we towel dried it up. Within seconds the edges of the floor had bubbled. The floor is not kid proof. It shows every little foot mark, scratch, scuff. Definitely not what you would expect from laminate flooring. I would not recommend this product. August 20, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unless you just want the not buy it. Don't really know how they got their good rating on here.... Anyways, our house had the Traffic Master laminate flooring for the longest time, the quality was excellent. I have two young children who can pretty much destroy anything, but the flooring still look like new. When we decided remodel, we picked the same company and similar was the worst decision we ever made. This product was so easy to get marks on them, hard to clean, we had professional came in and installed it but still does not seem connect right!! If my kids so happen to drop a toy, it will leave a scratch on the floor......It makes me wonder did we bought the laminate or wood? Do not get it unless you just want the looks and freaking out about anything and everything you do that might damage the floor in next however years you are gonna live in your house. July 17, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by this product should be outlawed. the product was very inconsistent in regards to the dimensional qualities- some boards seemed to be less than the 4-31/32" at the ends making it lock in the middle but not at the ends. also the locking features varied as the height of the lip on the male side was higher on some and lower on others, which added to the locking problems. I spent hours installing it one way and then the opposite after reading on line how to do it (opposite of the instructions). also one of the five boxes I ordered had spots in the middle of every plank. most of the ends had been chipped on one side or the other. two of the five boxes had the ends of the packaging torn off I assume during shipping, which resulted in more dented ends. all in all 3 of 5 boxes were brought back to home depot. with all the phone calls back and forth and trying to expedite this replacement order home depot felt bad and gave me the 3 boxes for free-they reimbursed me. I tried to make it work and after hours of frustration and collaboration of friends who have done this before I picked up the whole walk in closet floor (70 sq. ft. and already had been cut to size) and brought it back to home depot. they refunded the whole amount and I bought a different brand that was in stock (p__g_) and brought it home and installed it in 3 hours, and it locked like fort knox. what a mess trafficmaster is. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install The flooring has a very attractive grain pattern and looks nice after the easy installation. Almost zero tapping and coercing the boards together. Several boxes had damaged ends or corners and too often both ends where damaged making a small pile of save for later and figure out how to reuse somewhere else. About half of the boards had scuff marks on the finish right out of the box so I had to go over the whole floor with laminate floor cleaner and a microfiber cloth rubbing the marks off. Every time you think you got them all step back and there are a few more. However there were very few permanent marks or scratches to deal with. While installation was easy the boards did not lock together as tight as some other laminate products I've put down but that may be the trade for easy installation. January 6, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice floor at a decent price We were shopping for some laminate to replace the cracking ceramic tiles in our kitchen. We decided on laminate because it looks decent and is fairly cost effective and is generally easy to install. We went with this product because of the color, price, and the thickness of the planks. These planks are quite a bit thicker than the less expensive alternatives from TrafficMaster. I figured the thicker planks would be more forgiving when clicking together. I had very few problems with getting the floor installed, all the planks clicked together but sometimes needed a little persuasion using a mallet and block. My wife and I worked together while also caring for our 3 and 4 year old boys and we were able to get the floor down in a day. I think success is depended on your prep work. Make sure your sub-floor is level and clean...with us we were removing tile and thinset which was time consuming and tedious. Make sure you use underlayment like the instructions say. Remove moldings and undercut door jambs to make a nice finished appearance. The tools you will want to have to make the job easier include a table saw, miter/chop saw, mallet and scrap wood block for tapping planks into place, and spacers. September 17, 2014
